  1. So, I have to ask if you can take a moment to go more in-depth on your decal process. You seem to flawlessly be able to print and apply every one you use! How do you make it look so easy?? Uncanny.
  2. Just so everyone knows, I can get any of the TRU 15 wave here in Northern NJ. Just picked up an extra Firelord/Airwalker pack, as well.
  3. God, that stupid Wolverine is so hard for me to find! I've been looking for months, can't find one on ebay or here on the boards. Forge and Gen X Banshee will never be, I guess.
  4. Holy. CRAP! Impressive, man. I didn't even realize there WERE that many Marvel mates MADE!!!
  5. Help yourself, DocEndo! Today I finished the Summers boys at two very different times in their lives: X-Factor Cyclops v2.0 (My favorite) Man, white paint is a pain in the butt. I have to do another coat in places, but I wanted to put this guy up. Reminds me of the original ToyBiz Cyclops from the early 90's which I loved to DEATH. and Uncanny Avengers Havok: Pretty simple-- I was trying to hold out until the Marvel NOW! lines were released (hoping for an Uncanny Avengers boxset! Rogue, Havok, Wasp, Sunfire!) but after just getting a Havok in W47 I figured it'd be awhile until we saw another so just whipped this guy up quickly. --- Last edit: I keep thinking I'm done for the day, but man, I've had a lot of ideas. This has been the most productive day off I've had in a while. Just added some detail to my Nightcrawler and thought I'd post him since I haven't before.
  6. If this is true I want to slap you I'm so impressed. (It's a good thing)
  7. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSS. !!!!!
  8. Which piece is that? I'm assuming it's a convention exclusive. For Banshee I used a First Class Angel head. Seemed appropriate, for some reason. I could have painted the mouth black to give it more of an "open"/scream feel, I suppose.
  9. I'm working on so many other esoteric X-lineups. The head underneath Xorn is a painted Crossbones head. Also, shout out to youbastards for his awesome Dazzler face decal I put into use. I was going to make my own but his was pretty spot on-- I thought I'd give it a whirl.
  10. Thanks, everyone! The recipes are actually pretty straightforward: Firestar in her New Warriors garb was a decal with a New X-Men Wolvie jacket piece painted over, as Psyguy said Crimson Viper's head and an X-Factor Jean hairpiece, finished with paint where it was needed. Here's the decal I designed for her. Pretty simple, but my first decal design: Avengers Firestar was just an existing Firestar figure with a New X-Men Jean/Phoenix hairpiece, a decal and some paint. Marvel Girl was a Blink body repainted, First Class X-Men gloves, an Avengers boxset Wasp skirt, First App Jean hair and a variant Mandarin mask cut out and glued on top (Thanks to the wonderful Jeff!) X-Factor Marvel Girl? Just a repainted existing X-Factor Marvel Girl with the green carefully repainted red and an extra New X-Men Jean/Phoenix hairpiece instead. Black Widow is an Ocean Master body with everything stripped off, greenstuff for her gauntlets since I couldn't find extra Black Widows to part-steal from, forgot the face but pretty sure that's Daredevil's hair and then painted detail. Sunspot basically just a painted black mate with w11 Bishop's lower legs, Boomer's gauntlets, belt, and chestpiece, and the first Ghost Rider's hairpiece. And good ol' Sam is basically a 90's Cyclops mate, new face and hair (again, can't recall exactly where I got em, were just in my parts bin), sculpted harness, paint. There's a couple that I almost forgot to post, strewn across my displayed X-Men: Ultimate Angel Ultimate Colossus Classic Dazzler Banshee (still needs a cape-- can't come across extra Photon parts or MvC Storm to complete right now, though, and the ones I tried to sculpt were horrendous and took up so much green stuff!) Graduate Angel! This guy was a lot of paint, an X-Men belt that I can't place, for some reason? Possibly a MvC Wolvie belt, FA Beast headpiece with sculpted hair. The costume itself is of course, horrendous, but I had to have him for an important reason: The complete first graduated class of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters! I only have enough room to display my X-Men mates, right now. I'm particularly anal about how I display them and strict on there being NO COMPLETE REPEATED figures (That Cyke is a mix-mash of pre-existing parts, the Beast is a slightly repainted chest-piece, different head, X-Men belt added, Iceman has his FC hairpiece removed, belt added as well, until I can get the frosted w11 variant to replace him). A better example, my 80's X-Men team had to have a completely different Nightcrawler figure, despite the fact that either existing one could fill in the gap. It's a skrull Beast face with some modifications, Wasp chest piece, etc: because my current use for the other two 'Crawlers are part of my Excalibur display and my Phoenix-era X-Men display: Just for fun, here are some of the other displayed teams currently using customs I've whipped up: New X-Men Ultimate X-Men Extinction Team (updated Magik's hair. I felt like recently in the books there's been a little more of a "modern" feel to her bangs looks, but I go back and forth) X-Men First Class New Mutants --- Wow, that was a way bigger update than I intended!
  11. It's been a while-- have a bunch of updates since I started using decals. A lot more on the work bench than actually finished, but I figured I'd throw them up and elaborate on them later so HERE THEY ARE: New Warriors Firestar Avengers Firestar 80's Phoenix (Redone with decal) Original Marvel Girl Red costume X-Factor Marvel Girl Magik's original Darkchilde armor Muir Island Polaris Gray suit Black Widow Road trip X-Force Sunspot 90's Cannonball
  12. For me, popularity isn't the issue, which is why voting was so hard. For example-- as a character and in my own personal opinion, I find Siryn way more interesting than Falcon. In terms of which is more important and should be represented in figure-form first? I think Falcon wins that one... He's way more influential in the Marvel Universe than the lovely Ms. Theresa, so he gets my vote first.
  13. Hey, Wes-- what's the recipe for your Generation X Emma?
  14. I second that I'd rather get more Marvel NOW! looks than Age of Ultron mates. As of right now, there's not much even design-wise that suggests to me the need for a mate (She-Hulk gets less hair and Luke Cage gets more-- Wolverine gets Ultimate Quicksilver's costume... all Zzz). Between everyone mentioned already (the Uncanny X-Men and Avengers, Captain Marvel, Rachel Grey!!! and way more in-continuity) there's plenty character-wise that needs to be covered in 616 Marvel before they're dated.
  15. I second the Squadron F***ing Supreme
  16. 90's X-Factor! http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/1/11352/795648-711226_8i80__56__super.jpg
  17. I've been meaning to upload and show off the custom commissions that Brobot traded with me and here they are: For those of you who don't know, these are representations of X-Men characters from what may be my favorite story ever told: the Asgardian Wars storyline that ran in the 80's from X-Men Annual #9, New Mutants Special Edition #1, and the X-Men and Alpha Flight 2-Issue limited series. Probably the most famous of the bunch, here's Storm where Loki temporarily granted her the powers of Thor. This is Madelyne Pryor, just recently married to Cyclops and temporarily granted Asgardian healing powers as Anodyne. The Asgardian werewolf who fell in love with Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane) known as Hrimhari. And possibly my favorite of the bunch, Dani Moonstar aka Mirage where she is first granted the noble honor of being the first human (and mutant) to join the Valkyries! Here's a back shot for detail's sake: Honestly, these are the crown jewels of my collection. I'm so proud and amazed by every HAND PAINTED detail. Thank you so much, Brobot. I can't wait to do business again.
  18. Anyone seen these yet? Just checked TRU Times Square with no luck :/
