  1. I would love a Count Chocula Minimate! I hope we can also see McDonalds Minimates in the future.
  2. Danny - As usual these are two very well written reviews. I'm now leaning towards getting one of these. Maybe for Christmas. One question about the Sentinel: I noticed that the socket ball appears prominently between the legs and crotch. Almost like the legs are coming off. Any speculation as to why? I guess it lends itself to the appearance that the legs can be removed but it's probably done to help the statue stand upright better.
  3. ^^^^ I disagree, Cyc. The animated movies are far more wide reaching than the Darktide. I couldn't imagine a better pairing than with the DVD. Perhaps getting them boxed with a hit video game.
  4. I've added Chat to MMHQ but it appears to default to being "on" when you load up the website. This creates issues for people at work (including me) and people living in totalitarian states. Bare with me as I try to make the chat default to "off" when the website is brought up. I can't imagine I am the first to encounter this problem so this should be easy. I don't want anyone getting fired (or executed) because they visited MMHQ today.
  5. Sure enough. Looks like it's getting too much traffic. Hopefully they straighten it out, it really is a neat site.
  6. This has given me a contest idea. When the Batman/OMAC 2 pack is released, a lot of army builders will be left with a lot of extra Batmans. We should have a custom contest for people to design the wackiest Batman variants.
  7. I started out PRO but now I'm AGAINST. The government plan, while well intended, is deeply flawed. First, as Timbo notes, you shouldn't have to register pry-bars or equivilant powers. However, people do need to register guns in the United States and they are regulated because they are a far more dangerous than pry-bars. So I would support making the Human Torch register his power to some authority. But this isn't the same as being PRO. The Human Torch is arguably a million times more dangerous than a human with a gun. However, he is registered with an organization that regulates his activities - the Fantastic Four. So I believe as long as a super-powered person is registered and regulated within a proper organization, that should be fine. However, I don't believe Shield should have jurisdiction to regulate these super-powered people or groups. Perhaps individuals who don't belong to a group should be registered with Shield or another organization. Given the highly unique nature of the individuals, the U.S. Congress could form a panel of experts which are granted with some regulatory and oversight authority. The other flaw with the current Act surrounds the definition of who is super-powered. How do you define it? Tony Stark is a regular guy outside his Iron Man suit. And how could you hope to prove Professor X has powers when he can manipulate the minds of any witnesses or people testifying? So you could say I'm PRO regulation but ANTI registration. Most of the existing groups are properly regulated in their own capacities. If the New Warriors had proper oversight, they would never had been allowed to storm Nitro and the other super-villians. People are right to clamor for greater protections, but the SRA is a terrible tool. The New Warriors acted immorally in my opinion. They had neither the training, expertise, nor authority to break into and enter the residence in Stamford. They were motivated by fame and profits, which in my opinion violates the implied moral code underlying other super-groups. I'm not certain I agree with Captain America's choice of methods to battle registration. He would be much more effective launching a non-violent campaign of civil disobedience. Imagine the backlash generated by the media when the government has Captain America chained and jailed. He could prove his point and win the battle without fighting a single battle. Americans would support Captain America if he fought for super-human civil rights.
  8. Growing like a bad fungus. I never read the Trek sections so I wasn't bothered. But I know we buried their customs in the customs area - much to their irritation. I don't have any interest in the AA forum. But when the 2" Star Trek Minimates are released, I'm going to post frequently in the Trek section of the AA forum. Just to tease them.
  9. I was with Timbo when Adam said the Cylon head was stolen. The BSG ship was there because Cloneme knocked it over when he sat down and bumped it.
  10. It's working ok for me. Anyone else having issues? It seems some of the Ultimate Avengers 2 has premiered online. It can be found on a teen game website called Habbo.com. Have you ever heard of it? It's very wierd. http://www.habbo.com Read the article here: http://www.animatedbliss.com/news.asp?TID=3663
  11. Today I found the SuperHero Database. Seems like a very ambitious project. I like the design. Need to play around with it to see how it works. http://www.superherodb.com/
  12. Thanks Ady! I've noticed a lot of hits coming from New York City on MMHQ the past week. I wonder if there is a connection ... I'm glad AA has their website up again. I do love me some Multiverse though. I'll be here.
  13. What are you, some kind of anti-Hawkite? You want us to wait until 2009 to have both?!?! I don't care what they do, I just need some Minimates with wings. Not to change the subject, but I'd really like a Marvel Beetle Minimate. I've been noodling out how to do a custom with those wings for quite some time now.
  14. Why not both in the same wave? Or both in the same groups of waves? Seems like they could save money on wing molds by doing them together. And they could give us an Angel in the Marvel wave ...
  15. Alright! This is great news! Let the Minimate onslaght begin!
  16. Wow, great find Ivan. I totally missed that at SDCC. We need a 2" Mr. T as Clubber Lang. "What's your prediction for the fight?"-Reporter "PAIN!!"-Clubber
  17. C'mon! I had pictures of Picachu! That's gotta worth like half a point.
  18. Congrats to all who entered. This was very very tough to vote on.
  19. I haven't heard of any future DC exclusives but the first three waves of DC Minimates will hit this fall. This exclusive was a complete surprise and I imagine we will see more giveaways in the future. The companies do take a loss on these exclusives (after all they are doing them for free). But I think DC will be pleased with the frenzy they are building. For complete pics of the upcoming waves check out the DC threads in this forum and the Gallery at Minimate Headquarters.
  20. I just can't justify spending that much money on a statue. It is odd though because I've spent a lot getting rare Minimates. If it makes Chuck feel any better, I will buy any 2" Minimates that DST makes. Even a 2" Minimate of Chuck.
  21. Pictures are up at Minimate Headquarters. http://www.minimateheadquarters.com
  22. Awesome pictures Timbo! Those are great!
  23. All good points drgnbrn316. I don't think we can count on Star Trek being dead though. I think the Minimates are just on pause. I believe we will see them re-released in the 2" scale. LOTR just couldn't generate mass market appeal this long after the movies. I don't think it was meant to be just a specialty line like DC Minimates. I understand your frustration though.
  24. Many may not realize that the green ring is painted on as a green dot. I had assumed they would use the Kingpin's hand because he has a ring sculpted on. Still looks good though. Also, it looks like Hal Jordan's ring will be painted on too. "In the brightest day"
