  1. are these three supposed to be examples of successful child minimates? if so, try again, everyone either shortened their John or said “I wish Luke’s mod was the official version”, no one likes James, and Robin is bigger then Batman. if they’re examples of children made the size of adults we’re just supposed to be deal with then yeah, those sure are adult sized kids, good point! (also note John and Robin do NOT have shortening feet, Robin’s feet are the same weird ‘fairy bootie’ Harley Quinn and Deadman use. and John’s feet are a reuse of Future Marty McFly Jr’s feet which are also used on the adult sized Jogger Ghost... so those two aren’t even ‘attempts at child sized’ mates they’re just giant children.) To contribute here’s my idea for three (5?) new parts that could make a decent enough child sized minimate WHILE KEEPING the swappability and articulation of the 2inch mates: A smaller torso block, designed to be no wider then that of the hip piece(so belts can be reused) will greatly reduce height and overall mass, Completing the look would be a new set of shins and forearms. Why shorten the shins?! The shortened shins would give ‘slipper’ feet height (it would still have the weird ‘feet in the shins’ look unfortunately) but it would GAIN the C3 hole and the ability to change shoes the slipper feet currently lack. Shortened arms are to keep them proportional, current slipper mates look like apes since the arms are too long (speaking of which, where’s my Rise of the PotA minimates!!! New Goblin and Gollum aren’t cutting it anymore!) I don’t think any of those pieces are too dramatic a change NOR without president (BIG characters have taken to using an I-crotch instead of a T-crotch, why not a new ‘slim’ torso for tiny characters and we’ve been seeing many mates with sculpted shins, thighs, forearms, or shoulders, so it’s not like the arms/legs can’t be changed for design purposes when needed.) Plus I just want to add making these new piece can lead to following reusues: -Puck again in a TRU 2-pack with whatever Alpha member doesn’t make it into Alpha Flight Box Set 2 -Manga (Spider-Claw if you must) Spider-man -Ultimate Spider-man -Black Ultimate Spider-man -Symbiote Ultimate Spider-man -Wolverine -Wolverine! -Wolverine!! -Wolverine!!! shortened minimates: too logical NOT to make edit: crap, James Franco was NEW Goblin not Green Goblin, STUPID! I’m so stupid... Winner winner chicken dinner. Awesome design. Send this to Robert stat so he can bludgeon Chuck into submission with the idea.
  2. Only $13 a figure! I could buy one set of these or a whole case of Minimates. Hmmm. If Minimates had Minimates, would they look like these?
  3. These are production quality! Amazing!
  4. We should call this year Minimate Rising with all the dead Minimates we are getting this year. Mummy, Mum-ra, Walking Dead...heck even Phoenix Force is rising in Marvel.
  5. I've got the C3 prototype pieces to make the unreleased Javelin. I'll have to dig it up. It's in a tub with 80lbs of C3 pieces.
  6. I would be interest in knowing if color acuity decreases with age and if is a trait you can improve.
  7. Warner Brothers owns ThunderCats. They also own DC Comics... Just saying.
  8. Hey Cappy - Do you still have JP1000 and Fake Gold Spidey?
  9. The link below tests your ability to see different colors. It takes a few minutes to do but is interesting. http://www.xrite.com/custom_page.aspx?pageid=77〈=en A score of 0 is perfect color acuity. And the score ranges up to 1550 which i assume means you see the world in one single color. I scored a 14 with minor issues with purple, green, and yellow.
  10. My finishing 2.5 Rhino will be the first sign of the apocalypse. I have around 50 customs still in process since 2005.

  12. Eleven reviews have ASM at 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. So far, so good. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_amazing_spider_man/ Ted is down to 60% and I've lost some interest from the trailers. I know Family Guy is very popular but I just never got into it. If it does well at the box office, I'll go see it but the schtick needs to be a step beyond being just raunchy and crude. I like raunchy and crude if it makes the audience think a little.
  13. Thanks Turtle. Thanks Turtle.
  14. Why is she rolling around in a big pile of blow? Cheetara the ThunderCrack HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Seems like it is the hot game right now...anyone playing?
  16. If it is Thundercats, there is another angle to the scenario. ThunderCats is owned by Warner Brothers. They also own a little property called DC comics...
  17. My nearest TRU had about 20 on a peg so they should start popping up in great quantity.
  18. Hey TM2 - How did you do Tombstone's face? It looks like you altered an existing mate's face but I can't figure out who.
  19. I'd classify Gremlins as mild horror/comedy. It has a lot of thematic elements of a classic horror movie: monsters, crap jumping out at you, night setting, death, and gore. The comedy aspect lightens the overall tone and Gizmo is cute but it's a horror movie at the core. On my list, only Teen Wolf and Thundercats meet the "no humans" rumor.
  20. Rampant rumor mongering...let's get crazy! Anyone have a log of the chat? To throw petrol on the fire, I think Luke said that it was an 80s property that he wasn't into as a kid. This is complete hearsay on my part as I didn't participate in the chat. But let's indulge my alcohol atrophied fantasy: 1. Luke likes horror so Gremlins is out. This would likely rule out any 80s era horror from Jason to Freddy. 2. Luke has made GI Joe customs so presumably he likes GI Joe and we can rule them out. 3. Strike out DC and Dr. Who for the same reasons above. 4. Strike out Star Wars for the same reasons. 5. Strike out Predator. 6. No Mario or Zelda. 7. What does that leave? My Current Top Ten in no particular order: -Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -Thundercats -Star Trek The Next Generation -Goonies -Breakfast Club -Ferris Bueller's Day Off -Top Gun -Princess Bride -Sixteen Candles -Teen Wolf
  21. Thanks Turtle. I'll accept those as open ended questions to be addressed in a sequel.
