  1. Happy Birthday to a fellow Goldeneye fan
  2. Bummer. I have the 4 turtles, and I was really getting excited over the idea of mixing them with the Power Rangers in photo shoots... oh well. Thanks for taking the photo for me, Geo!
  3. I'd be very interested in seeing how they might pull off a Zordon figure. My initial thought would be a playset of the Command Center, with Zordon being part of the set... And while I like the idea of a 6 pack, I'm pretty sure that's officially off the table as a format from this point forward (am I correct in remembering Zach or Chuck saying that they won't be revisiting that format at all?) ... I would think that, in terms of longevity, they would do the 2pack route, pairing one ranger with one villain. Split between specialty and TRU, you could get a good chunk of the first series out in just one wave, with Putties being the one carryover between the two venues. But I don't want to get too deep into wishlisting, or I'll just start depressing myself
  4. Does anyone have the new Figurarts Power Ranger figures *and* the Playmates TMNT Classic Collection? I'm curious if they're compatible sizes...
  5. oh for the love of beedoide. I was trying so intensely to force myself not to get these figures. but I can't resist. they are so beautiful... so beautiful... also, awesome photos
  6. DST loves us. They really do. We are too spoiled. Also, I can't begin to comprehend the depth of sorrow my wallet is wallowing in right now...
  7. oh for the love of cheese. I can't stop drooling...
  8. Yeah, I absolutely love this. Completely inspired work! Besides the fact that it does indeed give DST another reason to release a black suit Spidey mate, this (to me) would be the definitive version. I'm actually pretty surprised they didn't make this already... This, along with an updated 'Torment Spidey' would be a killer 2-pack.
  9. I think everyone has presented great points/perspectives/opinions. The only point I would differ on is how much space trades take up vs single issues. Granted, my experience is solely with paperback trades (no hardcovers or omnibuses) but in that respect; a trade collects (on average) 6 issues in a single binding. 6 single issues, bagged and boarded, take up almost twice that amount of space. That's been my experience, at least. I'm surprised to hear this. I would think I would be more careful with single issues, since they could rip easier. Yeah, it kinda surprised me at first, too. but the binding on the spine (this is specifically for paperbacks. I doubt hard covers have this problem) is subject to creasing if you pull the pages apart enough. Whereas a comic book has staples in the spine, so there's no way to create vertical creases. Ripping is easily avoidable if you're careful enough. With a single issue, there's no hard binding to keep the pages connected, so there's nothing to finagle when it comes to opening a page up. Trades tend to be more stubborn. Also, you make a good point about paperbacks vs hard covers, in that paperbacks are cheaper, lighter, and easier to read/handle. And I have to say, it's interesting seeing all the different perspectives. I have a good friend from high school who runs a comic shop and he constantly picks on me for liking trades (the issue with the spine is his main reason for avoiding them), and I totally see his perspective. There is definitely something to be said for single issues. I guess it really all depends on your personal preference...
  10. I second the 'like button' option. Delta, that post was not only awesome, but it was genuinely interesting. I had no idea there was such a diversity to hot wings/sauces, and it's always fun hearing about people's passions that drive them to travel around like that. I have to admit that I wasn't sure at first if you were being serious, but by the time I got to the end of your post, I was echoing your sentiment - that I never thought I'd read a post about those two passions merging Your excitement is cool to see, and I sincerely hope you're able to get a hookup on that 'mate. ... though, considering your travels, it's unfortunate that you won't be able to be there to get the mate in person
  11. I love collecting trades because they look great on my shelf, and it's easy to read straight through one story arc or run (especially when one trade collects issues that may not be part of the main title. It just makes it easier to keep track). Plus, the price point tends to be better than buying single issues. However... The one big drawback (at least for me) to trades is that I'm always fearful of damaging the spine. You can't open up a page all the way, and that gets especially annoying when the artist chose to use both pages for a layout (whether as one big splash page, or when using both pages to share panels. That happens more often than I would have expected). Single issues don't have that problem...
  12. I have to say, the design for Electro is killer. the special effects look impressive... but, is it just me, or do his teeth look weird to anyone else? it almost seems like they're trying to make his teeth glow as well, but it just makes them look like they're covered in a layer of slime or something... oh, and the eyes are creepy. I love it
  13. I was in love with Power Rangers during the first season, so this property (along with TMNT) would be a dream for me. However, looking back on the show now, as an adult, I have to scratch my head at how the program was even made or picked up by a tv network. it's so insanely amature... BUT, as a kid, I didn't care about the quality of the writing or acting. I loved the designs, the powers, and the robots... and even though I know a lot of people would balk at Power Ranger Minimates, I think that is one property that would work amazingly well in Minimate form. They are very colorful and the designs just lend themselves perfectly to the Minimate asthetic. But sadly, I'm pretty sure it has been said more than once from officials at DST that Power Rangers (along with TMNT) are not on the table, and probably won't be for a long time, if ever...
  14. like Luke, I can't pick one all time favorite. But all through high school I would watch Goldeneye, the first Mission Impossible, A Goofy Movie and Emperor's New Groove all at least once a week. to this day I can quote the entirety of each movie. Since then (sheesh, almost 15 years ago. I feel pretty old), a lot of new movies have taken their place in my list of awesome films, but those 4 will always stick with me for much of the same basic reason that Luke gave - classic childhood (errr, teenage) nostalgia
  15. Your presence will definitely be missed. Hope all your stuff gets sorted well and without too much hassle!
  16. Brilliant work, as always. I especially love the camera angle, and the end is pretty funny
  17. Beautiful. Absolutely brilliant new mates. It's hard for me to pick a favorite. I need these in hand now
  18. Welcome! It's always great having talented people contributing to the Minimate community. I've been pretty impressed with your photos - especially some of the X-Men First Class and Daredevil shots. Keep it up, and make yourself at home
  19. Interesting choice to paint over the red with a slate blue. It looks as though the paint is wearing off in a few places where the shield got dinged (presumably from use/battles). I'm hoping the new color scheme will be a temporary visual to represent Steve's conflict in transitioning fully into present day - once he's more comfortable and has found his place, the reds will return. maybe. and yeah, Bucky is killer. I love how his arm looks crazy muscular even through the leather sleeve =P
  20. I wish I could spend my free time twirling my mustache (I'll just wait here for BHM to make the obvious joke). But seriously, diabolical mustache twirling rocks. and your paintings are awesome and interesting. Welcome aboard!
  21. Hope you have a great one! http://youtu.be/_eM6TEopSF0
  22. Well, personally I think it's an improvement over his Avengers costume (not that it'd be hard to improve on that. it looked so... off), but I do miss the reds. Still, I do like that it has a Commander Rogers aesthetic, and that I can readily identify him as Captain America despite the deviation from the classic look. And the shield hasn't changed
