I didn't think 24 mates were officially cancelled, but that they were put on hold because of the lack of the show on air due to the writers strike. I wasn't real excited about this new season, but have really enjoyed it so far. I think there just being such a gap in seasons made me forget how much I liked it. Maybe that kind of thinking will work for Minimates too.

I just think Trek wave 3 was weak. Also, if you look, they're clearancing alot of things.

I have a customizing question for anyone that might know. I’d like to make a custom and need a rectangular base of something solid to fit around part of the figure (think of Kitty Pryde phasing through a wall). I’ve considered pouring something like plaster around the figure with it placed like I need it, but am wondering if there’s a better way to do it or if that would even work. Any ides?

I liked to know that too. I e-mailed them about some BSG figures 2-3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. I e-mailed about a similar problem about 6 months ago and never received a response.

Wow. Wave 8 looks like a red X in a box. I might not pick that one up. Am I the only one not seeing the picture?

Maybe there's the off chance they'll release some of these as Convention exclusives with a lower run. Yes, I'm still in denial/desperation.

A cryptic thread from Minimate Multiverse

My local Wal-Mart way overstocked before the holidays and none of the Marvel sold. There's probably three-four cases left (in a small Wal-Mart, that's alot) and a ton of Obi-Wan's. And as much as I'd like new ones, I went through and opened all of mine Monday and it actually made me a little sick to see how much I've gotten. It was a good kind of sick, but I was a little embarrassed with my lack of restraint in buying these.

Nice point. I'd love to see their site offer more than just the same stuff I can get somewhere else (usually for a little bit less). I'd be much more apt to buy more from them if there were exclusives offered there also.

Yeah, I'm not naive enough to think we wouldn't get the same response we usually get, but maybe it's just frustration that comes from hearing complaints here (where they do no good) and wondering if they're ever expressed to the right people.

So, instead of just complaining about it here, how many board members have had already started contacting DST to show their disapproval? I have and just mentioned how I've got the whole line (with several duplicates) and have never once pre-ordered anything. I know it's not so much fan support as it's how that translates to retail support, but why don't we ask DST what it would take to save the line (if that's what's happening). If BSG is really dead, I'd have to wonder if too much off the wall stuff killed the line. The two classic sets were just weird and there was too much Razor stuff for just one episode/movie. If you don't include those two lines, there's a huge gap in release time between waves 4 & 5. I fear that's going to be a problem for Trek also, but at least there's a movie coming out soon to push the brand name. I really hope BSG continues, but can understand why it would be sunk.

If BBTS is selling cases of 12 for $99.99 (cases) and single for $9-$10, I don't think retail prices are $11. They're normally over Target/Wal-Mart prices on things. I think for Hasbro to sell these at $11 would be line-suicide.

I just picked up the Hoth Han last night (because my wife thought he was cute). I also got Molo Rama and Cairo Swordsman on clearance at Wal-Mart, ordered the Dooku and Ventress on-line at Wal-Mart for $8 each and bought an Indy Idol from somebody on-line (in damaged box, but only $5). This'll take my Mugg count up to 45 (just don't tell my wife I've got that many-she knows how much they cost and can do math).

I want a Bill & Ted. That'd be most bodacious!

I broke down and got one yesterday from Midtown Comics on-line. They're only $7.99, but it was $8.99 for S&H (bleh). I also ordered Chef Duff from CCC and the Marty/Loraine prom pack from BTTF.com. I'm pretty sure everywhere I bought them from, shipping was more than the figures.

This one is what pushed me over the edge on whether or not to get the Transformer ones. There's going to be a Starscream also, but there's no image out there yet for it.
