I would love Tripods Minimates : The Tripods

I didn't known that there was a Chicago Comic Con ! Was the Laboratory playset displayed at the booth ? Nobody asked more about the Battle Beasts Minimates ?

For this reason I will buy just 1 .. full case. In fact I'm a completist for all the Battle Beasts things so I will need this playset at least 1 loose and 1 still boxed.

Not necessary rubsigns but I agree that they need a secret symbol. Look at the laserbeasts (BB second generation) with their orb. In fact I will buy them even if they haven't.

The Laboratory playset is listed in the August 2009 Previews (#251). According to Previews it will be retail at $29.99 I don't know if someone here have access to this publication. If so it would be great to have scans of the Minimates pages (from p.352 to p.353). [EDIT] Forgot to talk about the release date that is announced at the 12/30/09 always according to Previews.

So true. How can they put this gator in the SDCC display, announce the ownership of the BB brand and then just vanish ? I'm sure that the DST staff need to rest after the show but we have to know. I only would like a post at the Art Asylum blog or a press release. They just sayed too less ... or too much.

Hello to all MM fans ! I'm new in the Minimates world. The SDCC '09 bring me here as DST announced that they are now owner of the Battle Beasts brand. As you can see in the link post below Battle Beasts (aka Dragonautes in France) are my first and most loved collection. I already loved them when I was young and only lost interest in them for a few years (during the years you're more interested by girls than toys ). I dream of a Battle Beasts re-launched years ago. I had hope in Hasbro to bring them back some years ago as they renewed their ownership on the brand but was really dissapointed when I finnally saw that nothing was done. I have discovered that DST own the trademarks monts ago and since I never stop asking Chuck about it. I had small interest in Minimates figures until now. I was checking for news about them like any others toys line I don't collect. I have always been interested by all the toys. But I have to do choice as I can't buy everything. I used to collect 80's lines and some modern toys too. The only block like figures I ever had was Star Wars Kubrick 'cause I have had the opportunity to buy them directly in a store in my city. The lizard displayed at SDCC ? In fact it's more a gator than a lizard. I think that the original BB corresponding would be Grusome Gator even if it doesn't have the same color scheme.

For the members here that read the LRG board you can find me at thei forum under the lord account. As I have already writen it here you don't have to worry about some BB collectors reactions. They are only a handfull that really dislike the new Minimates Battle Beasts. It's more important to get reactions from others toys fans. When you're in a collection for years you have hard time accepting things can change. Globally I can say that this new DST line has had a very good welcome. The main DST goal here is to get more buyers. They can't just put their dream in the BB community as this is a too small one. I see the Minimates BB as a new mass market brand and I'm sure that they have the quality needed for. I will for sure be part of their new buyers and a good one as I need them for my personnal collection and more to play with with my childrens.

As a BB fan and collector I can just say WHAOU ! I have been waiting this day for years and now it's true. New figures making their way to the store. I hope that this line will be sold through TRU as it will be a great way to attract more fan in the Minimates world. I never bought any Minimates but I have an explication. I'm not living in USA. I'm sure that if I had been in USA my childrens would be playing with Minimates. In fact they will be playing with the parts I would have been able to find back. They are too young for construction toys. Come back to the BB from DST. I found the fact that DST now owned the Battle Beasts brand months ago when searching for information about a possible Hasbro re launch. I used the last 6 months sending question to Chuck through the Q&A about the BB line but none never received an answer. So I checked daily the blog and even more during the TF 09 and then during this SDCC. When I saw the gator pic I immediatly understand that the BB were finally back. I tried to register here but needed to wait for the admin confirmation to be able to post. I now need more information from DST. When will the display be available ? Can we expect a full BB release before the end of this year. Would be great to have BB under the christmas tree. Don't worry about the negative feedback from old BB collectors. We are on the internet, a world in which negative is louder than postive. It kind of remind me the first reaction about the MOTUC or all the others lines re-launched (Star Wars, GI Joe, etc). they will ever be people who like more older toys than new ones. What's really important is to spread the news all around the world. I'm already doing the job in french boards. PS: I read in a post that BB was just a 80's tv show opportunity. So far from the truth. BB has never been a TV show. They had their (small) success by themself. Not like all the Pokemon, Ben10, YuGiOh, etc.
