  1. Fantastic article, and I'm SOOOO happy to finally have clean, hi-res copies of those posters. Eventually I'm going to print them out at Mimimate scale and decorate a street scene with them!
  2. Jatta, how much does this cost? I take it this is a Target exclusive? Can you post a pic or a link of it in the box? Thanks much!
  3. No Heroes 'mates makes me very, very sad, but the good likelihood of more BTTF 'mates makes me happy. So, mixed bag.
  4. If you go through with it, Shane, I think there should be a section for Galactic Heroes/Super Hero Squad/Robot Heroes/Adventure Heroes/whatever the GI Joe ones are called. Shame there's not one unifying name for those guys.
  5. A Western Coat Marty paired with Ms. Clayton would make for a decent two-pack, especially since Marty gets to be in each two-pack.
  6. Yeah, I think they even still have Spider-Man Maxi-Mate up for presale. I'm sure the 24 stuff will get canceled, but I'm hoping beyond hope that the BTTF 3 box comes out, even if it is delayed. Now that Civil War is in there, I think I'll just go ahead and buy my pile o' loot, and wait for the Kat pack to come into my Pile later. That'll be a LOT of Minimates coming my way - heck, I haven't even had time to open up the Archangel/Vision Marvel waves sitting by my desk!
  7. I'm in the same boat. I've got BSG 4, Star Trek 3, both Classic BSG sets, FAFDM, and just now, Civil War box set, all in my Pile O' Loot. And here I sit, waiting for the Kat pack to convert, along with BTTF 3, BTTF Biff & Marty, and 24 End Of Day 3 packs. Grrrr... I may have to email BBTS and ask what's the deal on the Kat pack.
  8. Marvel Apes? This smacks of an April Fool's prank, but it's too late for that. Or, way way WAY too early.
  9. BSG 4.1 - He That Believeth In Me BSG 4.2 - Six of One BSG 4.3 - Ties That Bind Go ahead neolego and enjoy He That Believeth In Me!
  10. That's exactly it! I am sorely disappointed by the black body armor that apparently all the heroes are wearing. Couldn't Scarlett at least have yellow/blue coloring on her armor to be reminiscent of the original costume? I hate to be a hater, but I just can't get behind these generic black suits. It'll make for some boring action figures. Oh well, maybe the story will be good.
  11. Just letting everyone know that I've changed my screen name from Soylent Bean to JadOnTV, since that is my forum name everywhere else, and it's the name of my blog! But I'm still the same old Minimate devotee you know & love (or at least tolerate!).
  12. Y'all gotta check this out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mafue/2319038914/
  13. It's taken me awhile, but the more I use Twitter, the more I enjoy it. I'm on as JadOnTV and you should follow me!
  14. The first thing I think of when I see that mortar pack backpack is that it would make a great base for a Boba Fett custom jetpack.
  15. I think it's a great start, and I have some further suggestions. First, the pants could be considerably lighter than what you have in the first pic. Indy's pants were a WWII US Army style often known as Officer's Pinks. They are a very light tan color with almost a rosey hue to them. Second, the jacket. The color looks good, but the pockets need work. Indy's jacket has no visible buttons, so they should not be painted. Also, the pockets on the jacket rest at the bottom of the front. My suggestion, if you're willing, would be to sand off the pockets on that vest, and paint in the pocket outlines. Also, though it might be difficult, it would be good to have some paint to indicate the collars. The collars are quite large and their rounded tips are very distinctive. For some excellent pics of authentic jackets, check out IndyJacket.com. (I happen to have a Raiders jacket that I wear daily!) Good luck!
  16. Now that I finally live in a city that's hosting an event I want to go to, I'm going to it. The event, that is, not the city. I'm already in the city.
  17. I know there are several Southern California members on these boards, and I thought this might be of interest to you! On March 8, I went along with the San Diego Star Wars Society to the original filming location used for the Sarlacc Pit and Sail Barge set, near Yuma, AZ. The trip was a blast, and we were able to dig in the sand and find actual pieces of the barge and the Sarlacc Pit. You can read a little about the trip on my blog, JadOnTV.com. I would love to plan another day trip there, hopefully before the end of April to avoid the summer heat. I'm thinking of a group of 4 to 8 people, and I already have one person from LA who says he's interested. Here's an idea of what the day would look like: leave San Diego at 6 AM to arrive at the site at 9, spend the day exploring the site and digging up treasures, then head home around 4 to arrive back in San Diego at 7. Here's a list of what we would need to bring: - At least one 4 wheel drive vehicle, and the willingness to drive it over loose sands. Alternately, we could split the cost of renting a Hummer or something similar. - $35 to cover entrance to the area for each vehicle ($25 if someone already has a vehicle-mounted orange flag). Also, we should all split gas costs. - Sack lunch, sunblock, wide-brimmed hat, WATER, etc. You will be in the desert sun for most of the day, with NO SHADE! Temps ought to be in the high 80's. - GPS. Useful, but not necessary. - Shovels and bags for carrying home loot. If there are any adventurous fans in the San Diego, El Centro, Yuma, or nearby areas who would seriously consider an outing like this, please drop me a PM! I'd like to keep this to adults 18 years or older, but we may be able to include younger Star Wars fans if they are accompanied by an adult Star Wars fan!
  18. From this trailer anyway, the plot looks pretty simple. Gov't accidentally creates Hulk, Gov't on purpose creates Abomination as a weapon, Abomination goes out of control, Hulk has to stop Abomination. I really hope there's more to the story than that. I do like the effects!
  19. I can't comment on that specific model, but if your physical arrangement of equipment allows you to use an ethernet cable, I'd go with that. Even the best wireless signal will drop out from time to time.

If anything, this proves that the Lost characters will translate well to block figures. Despite my adoration of Lost, I won't be picking these up. But I'd walk over hot coals for Lost Minimates!
  21. Maybe Toht will be the mailaway figure? Would be awesome to see him with a swappable melted head!
