  1. I got it all up in my brain today to do some customizing (you know, like you do) and this is what I got so far: It's my stab at a fairly in-scale Supreme Intelligence and so far I'm really digging it. But creating the figure was the easy part, it's the presentation that I need some advice on. What do you think I should use for the water (or water like substance) in his vat? I figure for the vat itself, I'd use a small votive with some 'hi-tech' dressing to make it appear less votive-y and more kree-like. So far I've considered actually putting him in water (but I'm concerned that he'd crumble after too long), putting a gel (the filmmaking kind, not the 'in the hair' kind) on the inside of the vat to look more watery without the potential damage (but I don't know if that would look right), or getting some window paint and coating the inside of the vat with it to create the same look but more streaky. And so, I'm stuck about what the solution should be. Can any of you give me an insight on what might be the best way to go or give me a better solution? Thanks!
  2. Well, potentially MVC3 series 3 could come out before June. Other than that, I think you're dead on.
  3. Oooh. More comic-style Avengers and Foes? Can you give us any hints yet? Will these be updates on previously released characters, or brand new Avenger folk? For the record, my money's still on the Cap's Kooky Quartet San Diego Exclusive. Not that I wouldn't want an Avengers Forever set, an Avengers West Coast set, or an Young Avengers set more, but I think the odds are that we'll get a silver age pack. Just saying.
  4. Yeah, but not really. It's that whole it-looked-like-he-died-but kinda things. You're probably fine not reading all that and just jumping into the whole Winter Solider series next year.
  5. I just got this set today and I can't stop staring at them. All of them at damn near perfect! Until today I never knew that I really wanted a Terrax mini, but now I never want to be without him.
  6. I want to be on record as predicting that one of these Avenger releases next year will be Cap's Kooky quartet. It's four figures, highly bankable, and firmly Silver Age, all thing Chuck loves. I'm thinking it'll be available at San Diego, and 90% of us will bitch about when it's announced only to love it once it's in hand.
  7. that is quite possibly the greatest minimate picture in the history of ever. Thank you, youbastards, on behalf of all of humanity.
  8. Can I just say that this was quite possibly the easiest TRU wave to find in the history of ever? Normally I have to wait a good few weeks to find these guys after I see them pop up here, but not this time. I headed to TRU an hour ago on a lark, and lo and behold, there was the full wave. Crazy excited it worked out this way, I hope it continues.
  9. I don't care what the QC issues are on Mike Haggar, I'm still ridiculously excited to have him. Looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow....
  10. You guys ought to be reading the (red) Hulk series. Not only will it answer all your questions, but it's pretty freaking rad to boot. As it stands currently, Rulk isn't a villain per se, instead he's more like a crotchety old man who just wants to be left alone. And of course, when a hulk wants to be left alone, everyone wants to go pick on him. Suffice to say, his month to month adventures are all kinds of action packed and truly a highlight in my monthly reading pile. Quality old-school stuff, in a new school dressing. Also, no, he did not die in Fear Itself. he basically just showed up for a few issues (a crossover into his own series), faced off against the new MODOK, traded blows with The Thing (Angarr, I think was his name at the time), and ultimately got knocked miles away by a wayward hammer swing. Fun times.
  11. Don't the waves always get pushed back?
  12. No joke, I JUST read that issue a few days ago. Very disappointed. Needed more gamma rage and less whiny blackouts.
  13. Finally my Shatterstar will have a date for the Prom.... Super excited about everything revealed. Can't wait to own them all.
  14. Man, I would kill for a Deathlok, regardless of which version it is. That said, I would strongly argue that the newest Deathlock would be the best option (not in his X-Force, get up, obviously), mainly because he has those badass claws. Maybe we can trick Chuck into thinking he's a weird Wolverine variant...
  15. MAX Vehicle Series ED-209 with Anti-Tank Gun Robocop ED-209 with Kid from #3 ED-209 from Robocop: Roulette Comic with skull (Punisher) paint with any character for the win. You are speaking my language, sir. I couldn't agree more!
  16. I found myself watching all the Robocop movies tonight (because, you know, it's Wednesday) and couldn't stop thinking about how awesome he'd look minimated. Imagine, if you will, The Robocop license acting like the Back to the Future license, with a four pack for each movie with a scattered two pack here and there. Here's how I would want it to break down: Robocop 1 - RoboCop (duh) - Boddicker - Lewis - Dick Jones Robocop 2 - Serve and protect Robocop (more opally than gunmetal grey) - Cain (as Robocop 2) - Cain (as a thug) - The Old Man Robocop 3 - Robo with a jetpack - The Yakuza Ninja Cyborg (whatever his name was) - One of the resistance - an OCP Exec. Probably Johnson Toss in some two packs of random henchmen and some battle damaged Robos, you got a series I'd totally gush over.
  17. I can already see my future: A year from now, wandering to Toys R Us to find the newest, most awesomest shortpack ever only to come face to face with the same Peter/Gwen two packs that have been hanging there for months. Ughs... In other words, it's going to be just like this summer and those damned First Class mates...
  18. Do you still consider The Beetle as a major Spider-Man villain, even though he's been Mach-V (or I-V, really) for the past 15 years? That's a mighty long time to be away and still be considered a major villain, I'm just saying.
  19. Quoted for truth! I would love to see Darkhawk come with a Sleepwalker minimate, that would be amazing. Barring that fantasy, I would still totally buy a Darkhawk minimate if he came with the inevitable 'Round Robin' Spidey variant. Also, back on topic, thanks for the heads up on the DH figure. I don't really buy this line, but I'm totally making an exception for this unexpected and awesome figure.
  20. Two things: 1- a new Flash Thompson Venom and a modern Jack o Lantern would be amazing. If those were released I'd die of pure ecstasy. 2- Didn't Chuck drop some hint a while back about working on a wave based on a 15 year old major comic storyline? If so, that leaves us with a Clone Saga wave (hello, Spider-cide), Identity Crisis (I wouldn't say no to some Slingers, would you?), The Gathering of the Five (um... Hello Scriers?), or some kind of mixture there of. Here's hoping the former is truer than the latter.
  21. You know,if you can make it out to Brooklyn, you should totally check out the Superhero Supply Store. It's an awesome place for all your super heroic needs (including, but not limited to, capes, utility belts, and anti-gravity goo) but all the proceeds go to the 826national children's creative writing workshops. Definitely a cool place to check out if you get the chance.
  22. Your ideas appeal to me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  23. This is the kind of variant that I like: different and not a one off. I, for one, welcome this new spidey and can't wait to place him on my spider-variant shelf. Here's hoping he comes with a worthwhile villain and not yet another green goblin retread.
