  1. Well, it's about TIME we got a William H Macy figure! Heh, Mystery Men reference And for those a little slow on the uptake, .
  2. Some new compatibility finds: Minimate-scale canines! This block-figure police dog came with a Takara Tomy truck I found. They usually come with a similar-style block person. Next, some really tiny gashapon puppies! I should clean out that capsule machine next time and I'll have a whole mini-kennel. The unwrapping: The little paper that lists the different "breeds" available: ... and yet I still can't find myself a Terror Dog or Lockjaw minimate.
  3. While you're at it, maybe you can take part in the upcoming Customizer chat next week! We can be a pretty wacky bunch in real-time Welcome!
  4. Personally I'm with Jatta on the character-specific part. I'm probably only saying this because I started out late in this hobby, but some of the highly-sculpted details like Thanos' fingers didn't really bother me as much as they did the "purists" here. I guess it's all about maintaining an overall okay aesthetic that doesn't break too many rules of human proportion (i.e. the awkward-looking Duck Feet + Waist Extender + Boxing Mitt Hands combo you see on Ultimate Hulk, 90s Beast, etc.) I probably wouldn't blame these on the minimate hands themselves but on DST's apparent problem when it comes to properly scaling down accessories. Back then it really wasn't a problem because accessories then were pretty simple when compared to what you see today where they're becoming as intricately designed as the 'mate themselves. Daredevil's billy clubs and Bullseye's throwing knives from the early waves look really bare-bones when you compare them to newer accessories like Ultimate Thor's hammer or the axe from the T-2 Cyberdyne boxset. For a more compact comparison of "accessory evolution", there's the guns from the wave 9 Blade/Assault Punisher 2-pack versus the ones from the Punisher: War Zone boxset. You'd think that with the added detail, thinner grips to accommodate the classic minimate hands would be a no-brainer too, however that looks like one of those oft-overlooked manufacturing details or some sort.
  5. Inception joke! Though oddly this strip also reminds me of TV Puppet Pals.
  6. I'm guessing the early difficulty you had before had to do with the thingy with the waiting a couple days first before new members had permission to post? Or something like that. Anyway, welcome to our humble corner of the web! (The answer is Honey, I Shrunk The Kids! You'll know soon enough )
  7. An old friend has come up with something incredible: http://squall95.multiply.com/journal/item/25 I've seen some of those Matchbox fold-up sets around, didn't realize they scaled pretty well with 'mates. Another neat thing to fish around for in stores
  8. If they made her Silver Sable that would have made sense. But this... eeek. She sorta looks like a cross between Danger and... that other guy I can't remember who has also recently reappeared in the X-books. This is all seriously hurting my head.
  9. This seems pretty cool and (I'll admit) tempting. Might consider it, still not sure though. Good luck on the search for new bloggers, Dave! We fire our writers out of cannons, so I'd be interested in finding out how other websites do it. The gun powder is getting expensive considering we're non-profit. Ever tried trebuchets? Ask Ivan, he should still have all the plans leftover from his poodle launching project.
  10. Welcome to the boards, Casval! Just a friendly word of advice: keep an eye out for the Wolverine stampedes
  11. As someone who also lives very close to an airport, I can sort of relate to the eeriness of this. That is just plain freakin weird, the only other explanation I could think of was that maybe this was a stunt pilot? (Albeit probably a very hopped-up n00b one who set out to pull off some random craziness on 9/11 or something )
  12. Glad to see you come out of lurking mode! A jolly welcome to the Multiverse!
  13. I heard they're giving this a sequel. ... why?! Off-topic, but here's some really creepy stuff I found. And none of that gross-out kind of creepy either. (If it's not obvious yet I think I kind of prefer the collaborative mind-screwy type of psychological horror more.)
  14. "OMG, Admiral Ackbar! I love your cereal!" I am so going to enjoy finding an inappropriate context for that quote At first I thought Bob had switched employers, then I forgot this was a Part 1
  15. If anyone needs a full transcript of the chat, here's my version of it. It's about 19 pages long (a whole 12 pages shorter than last time! ) mmmv_live_chat_sep1.doc
  16. Hey, you got your entries for the Custom Minimate Poster Contest! No mini-motivational posters from me yet, but these were my woefully lame image macro attempts from a little while back (feel free to use them around the 'verse every now and then ): And here was the fake official-looking one I whipped up for Shane's birthday:
  17. A quick note: this latest chat's official page count is nineteen! They also mentioned something about hopping on one foot and rubbing your tummy while spinning around three times, and then sending your nearest TRU some Kang-flavored muffins to redeem the Super Secret Special Edition Bonus Prize.
  18. Welcome to the Multiverse! Good to see another convert
  19. Please, whatever you do, don't name a future challenge Memento mori. That is soooooo cliché now.
  20. Welcome to the 'verse! Hope we get to talk to you too!
  21. Every other trade feels absurdly fun to me, but the winner has got to be the one that involved haggling with the lady at the postage counter and performing nip/tuck on a shoe box. (Long story.)
  22. Is that sentence supposed to say that? You really don't want to know.
