  1. So, since announcing Hickman's Secret Wars story for next summer, Marvel has also teased slightly tweaked imagery for Civil War, House of M, Armor Wars, Days of Future Past, and now Infinity Gauntlet. I'm starting to wonder if all of the timeline wrecking stories over the past couple years are leading up to a big DC-style hard reboot of the MU, so they can retell all of the major events from the past couple decades and bring all of the characters and editorial more in line with the movie universe.
  2. This would be fun. I'm on the fence about doing this one versus waiting for NYCC next October. If we start talking about sharing rooms, count me as a tentative yes...
  3. Yay if Doc/Brother Voodoo is back!
  4. They're like two different toy lines, honestly.
  5. Remember the time when Avengers Mansion got blown up and all of the Avengers had to go crash at Xavier's, and they were like, "dang, our uniforms are all jacked," and Xavier was like "no problem, you can use these X-men training uniforms!" and all the Avengers wore these outfits, too?
  6. Haha… zombie MODOK seems like a lock for next year's set...
  7. Oooowwwwwww jeez, why are you dumping pennies on us?!? That really hurts!
  8. How is Marvel "rebooting" Civil War? It was a fine story when it happened (ducks rotten tomatoes from Hellpop), but they kind of burned all of those bridges. Is, like Cap going to be pro and IM anti now?
  9. I think the implication is, now that the entire Disney marketing juggernaut is behind them Marvel is better positioned to decide who is on the A-list. I still find it a little disorienting to see INfinity figures of Star Lord and Gamora (Gamora!!!) on the pegs right next to Hulk and Cap, as if there were no other place they should be. It will be interesting to see if Disney/Marvel can propel these formerly oddball characters to true household name status through sheer force of will, or if they'll be forgotten about after the holiday clearance sales.
  10. Wa-huh? Were comic GotG mates hinted at/announced at a panel?
  11. Zach, I just have to ask you straight up: are we getting My Little Pony Minimates?
  12. Wow. So much fanwank. And, other than Jubilee's hair and Pyro's cowl, chest cap, and flamethrowers, it's all parts reuse. Well done, DST. It is remarkable that we basically guessed the entire lineup to a wave this unconventional in composition and technique. Well done, MMMV.
  13. There was this quote from a source at Marvel: "We're going to be extending this in a year-long program into 2016 with our merchandising partners, digital partners and other partners." So probably a safe bet we'll see at least a box set from this event...
  14. Yeah, they could satisfyingly finish out the G1 cast with a couple more waves, and having dug pretty deep for guys like Highbrow and Sandstorm in the last few waves, one might expect they had plans to keep the G1 goodness coming for a while. But Hasbro is notorious for leaving semi-key characters on the table and killen teh lein. I was really hoping to see an Omega Supreme and Metroplex in the combiner size/scale, since they seem to be branching into characters that are built rather than minifigs, but not like large build kits. Le sigh. I am still amused by Cowboy Optimus Prime, I suppose.
  15. Yeah, I'd love to see an Archer and Armstrong set. It's interesting these launched as a two pack rather than four, if it is just a trial balloon and not a "preview pack" of an ongoing line. A sculpted wraparound vest and boots and gloves would have been cool for XO. Might have to mod that up myself...
  16. This thread is useless without pics.
  17. Valiant two pack is X-O and Bloodshot?
  18. Oh, come on. He's Optimus Prime. And a cowboy!
  19. Oh sweet Jiminy Christmas, give me some Valiant mates!
  20. Part of me thinks "dang, no new G1 Kreons" and part of me thinks "okay, Cowboy Optimus Prime is actually completely awesome."
