There's supposed to be a 6" C3P0 coming out in the next month or so, right? I haven't seen pictures, but I guess there was a shipping manifest leaked or something? Is that confirmed?

I say, it's about time. And it's not any more random than it's ever been: back when hard dates were posted, there was usually at least a month variance between the first ship date we would see on the blog and the date when product actually hit stores. Remember the routine gripes when the blog got updated? "Whaaaaaaat? Such and such wave got pushed back another two weeks?!?" I don't think anything has changed with logistics; I think manufacturing processes/delivery timelines have always been a moving target, and this is a concession to that fact. Providing release timeframes by month or season makes a lot more sense to me because it's less likely to disappoint someone who has been marking off days on his calendar since June for that promised November 15 deadline. This gives some leeway for changes in production, orders, shipping, etc. Underpromise, overdeliver. Also, I think it's been established as a fairly reliable rule of thumb that you can count out six months from the original solicitation date for a good estimate of when you'll see new Minimates.

On one hand, I know it represents a very important, nostalgic and beloved era in X-men history for a lot of people. On the other hand, I've grown to view that era, for comics in general, as having engaged in some of the worst excesses of promotional marketing (hologram covers, trading cards, complete control of the content by essentially poster artists) at the expense of good writing. It's like, the X-men cartoon was "good" because you loved it as a kid, but it wasn't actually good good. It was like eating frosting straight out of the can. The Jim Lee era was kind of like that, too.

I found these over the weekend and grabbed three packs. I ended up with Shredder, a Foot Soldier, and Don. These are fun little mates; the unique arm and leg sculpts certainly push the envelope on the Minimate aesthetic, but in a not-unpleasant way. Nice work especially on the Shredder design!

Maybe we should update the poll, too? Eight of the 11 "Minis you collect" categories are obsolete (or should at least be consolidated into the "Competed Lines" category...)

That is… a lot of stickers. Are you going to be able to cover your own time/material costs? Not trying to tell you how to run your business, but maybe you have two tiers of sticker incentives? A "basic" level for a two-set purchase with some of the more-requested alt face stickers for the characters in the wave, and a "premium" level for a case purchase with the "I'm going to make versions of every single person who has ever appeared in the yellow/blue uniform ever" stickers for hardcore fans?

That's some rough tampo application… I'm sure that teensy little bandana is hard to line up exactly right in the machine, but… yikes.

I'm kind of curious to see what the MCU looks like after Inifinity War. Do they do another round of reboots and start all over, or do they keep building? Back history and continuity, while good for storytelling, are often viewed as a barrier to entry for new audiences. By 2020, there will be an entire generation that will have grown up with (and grown out of?) this iteration of the MCU. Are the words "10th Anniversary of Iron Man" going to be viewed as a positive or drawback?

Introducing Black Panther, Inhumans, and Doc Strange all before Infinity War makes me wonder if the Illuminati are going to play into all this. The only two missing are mr fantastic and Namor. Namor is kind of a pointless member of the group, so no loss there. Reed is the resident super genius, so i'm not sure who is established as that in the marvel cinematic universe. Maybe Bruce Banner fills that slot, or Hank Pym?

Is there any kind of SKU/item number/other identifying information we can use to call ahead and see if they're in stock?

If they were to do a one-shot wave, there are enough characters to fill it without having to dig too terribly deep: Archer/Armstrong Quantum/Woody Rai/Ninjak Toyo Harada/Shadowman Then again, the lack of action in this thread as compared with other new licenses like, say, Buck Rogers is probably a pretty good indication of the interest in Valiant...

I'm curious why they went with a two pack instead of a four. Valiant seems like a "one and done" kind of property like Invincible or Thief of Thieves. I'm not sure if a two pack says DST thinks Valiant has legs for maybe a full wave, of if they're not even confident a four pack can move and need a lower price point...
