  1. Bummer. Are they still in stores? I'm hoping to be in the US in October so might be able to track them down myself unless they're looooong gone. Some are still in the stores, but a few are selling out (not the Monsters from what I've seen). They're still available on-line though, so if you need someone to send them to you just pm me. I just read this weekend the line up for Disney's third wave, so it seems like they must be selling pretty well for them. It seems there are a bunch of other people like me who are buying these (and aren't sure why). Thanks Groundhog, may have to take you up on that, I'll PM you if I do!
  2. Has anyone seen the 11 doctors set in store yet? I saw the Dalek factory and cybermen factory (or whatever it is) in stores yesterday. They were about 30quid each which is bloomin expensive, but it was in forbidden planet so... Edit: Just seen the 11 Doctors set at my local TRU on the way home. £20, and even though I don't like the show much, it is a nice set. Really nice. Drop me a PM if you want one.

  4. Oooh wow. I saw some of the DC ones earlier today and thought they were quite fun. Are these sold in particular stores? Or anywhere special online? My girlfriend would love the Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc so want to track them down to put them away for Xmas.
  5. Haha I'm stealing that one for the office tomorrow!
  6. My local supermarket has the Tardis set and the Weeping Angel construction set on discount at £7.50 each instead of £10.00. That's just over 12bucks for you US'ers. If anyone wants one or a couple or whatever then drop me a PM.
  7. Love them, can't wait for these to come out. It's a no brainer from DSTs point of view!
  8. Loving the rooftop set Luke (and pretty much all the others!). I've been trying to get/considering making something similar for my Ghostbusters. Yours will be far better than anything I could muster so I'll just order one from you. As for potential ideas I'd always liked the idea of some brickwork with a billboard on it for a famous fictitious newspaper that a random wallcrawler/big blue boyscout could hang around.
  9. So today is the 40th birthday of the Hard Rock Cafe (in London) and in honour of this they had a special menu where the food was back to it's 1971 original price. So after queuing for nearly 3 hours in the sunshine, I finally got a look at the menu and was not disappointed. Burgers and fries for 60p, coke floats for 25p, sundaes for 30p. Amazing. Cost £2.50 to feed me and my girlfriend, that's burgers and desserts. To be fair to the restaurant they also kept us entertained while we queued and provided us with drinks, birthday cake and ice cream which was decent of them. They were also selling tickets to see Rod Stewart at the Hard Rock Calling festival in a couple of weeks......£1.50 a ticket! Now I'm not a huge fan of Hot Rod but that won't stop me enjoying myself. Anyways, just wanted to share on what was a really great evening. Loved every minute.....and the food.
  10. Saw the movie last night with my lady. We both really enjoyed it, great fun. Also loved the cameos. Looking forward to hopefully getting my hands on these mates. Matthew Vaughan clearly can do no wrong at the moment, anyone know what his next project is?
  11. I dont remember the film too well, and so I have no idea what his cane looked like, but, didn't one of the Universal Monsters sets come with a cane? Might be better than nothing at all. And like BHM I am also very jealous. A nice collection youbastards.
  12. Really? Did you sign up before the checkout and then receive a coupon to use? I don't think I get their newsletter yet and I've been trying to decide if I want the exclusive or not. Yep if you sign up for the newsletter, they'll email you confirming you're on their list, then minutes later they send a "welcome" email with the code. Then just add the code at checkout. And thanks K80 for continuing to educate this noob!
  13. Pre-order from Sideshow or BBTS, and there's no risk. You can decide later! Better to pre-order now before the pre-orders dry up though. . . On that advice I have preordered from Sideshow. There wasn't a shipping amount, will they let us know nearer the time what shipping will be? As a bonus I signed up for their newsletter and got $10 off. So my exclusive was less than $200. Beautiful. I just got a promotion recently, so if my girlfriend says anything about me "wasting" money, I'll say it was my treat for myself to celebrate. Then I'll hide the stack of minimates I bought this week
  14. I really hope not, otherwise my one and only venture into this scale will not be so for long.
  15. Wow, that is gonna be special. So what accessories do we think he will come with? I assume that Fortress stand. But what else? Crystals maybe?
  16. Thanks very much for that, guess I'll have to sell some stuff and keep some money put away in my paypal for this one.
  17. Wow that is wonderful. I don't own anything in that scale, and the only ones I've seen that have peaked my interest were the Iron Man figs and the Bruce Lee...until now. How much do figures in this scale normally retail for? And where can I preorder from? I missed out on Iron Man and eBay prices are ridiculous, so want to try to get in early on this.
  18. I have steered very clear of Kubricks, but seeing your amazing collection Karamazov80 has got me wishing i started years ago. Unfortunately, the high prices on eBay makes collecting these as a late starter to the line a bit intimidating. I'd say that I could be happy with just a Han in carbonite and a Boba Fett, but years ago I started collecting Minimates, and told myself that I'd be happy with just Spider-Man characters....then X-Men....then Avengers....and so on. I don't think my personality would allow me to just have a couple of these.
  19. Went to my local Tesco today and they had loads of the constructions sets and about 100 blind packs. I know next to nothing about Doctor Who, I've seen a few episodes like the Xmas specials and things, but these figures are nice and the kids I know seem to like them. However, I've got to say that £10 for a construction set that comes with just one figure is really steep! Should be half that in my opinion, especially seeing that, other than the TARDIS, the sets seem so generic. From what i can tell, one is just rocks, the other is a laboratory. I'm guessing that they're compatible with Lego, so kids can build around them and make them bigger, but they might get bored with a huge space station and just one Dalek...
  20. Yeah the horse line got a good reaction in the cinema I was in a couple of weeks ago. Very funny. Thought Hemsworth played the part well, Lady Natalie of Portman was as lovely as ever, Loki was great and the Bifrost etc looked terrific. I've got to say I didn't like the Warriors Three (don't kill me) thought they felt silly. And there wasn't enough action for me. I could've watched Thor beat up frost giants for the whole duration of the movie.
  21. Was gonna post about the Mirror deal. Not into Doctor Who too much myself, but these figs are nice. Picked up one for my cousin and another for a member on here. If I can get a couple more before the day is out for peeps I will. It's one per paper while stocks last, so if you turn up with 10 papers you get 10 figs. Which leads me to......Daleks tomorrow aka Army Builder Sunday! Oh and my TRU had nothing but an empty case of the normal blind packs, nothing out back either. Last week they also had tonnes of the TARDIS and Dalek sets. Only 2 Dalek sets left today and no TARDIS sets. So this deal is clearly working wonders for them, I guess most are thinking "well I'm in TRU for my freebie so I might as well grab a set or two".
