  1. Same here. I have a fair bit, and I think I have an idea as to what I paid for it....but then I dont think I'm going to get anywhere near that. Still, probably better than it just sitting in my attic.
  2. Chaps (and chappetes) may not be aware that in the UK we got a series of these for the Olympics. Team GB minifigs. http://www.wisdombeginsinwonder.com/2012/07/08/lego-minifigs-2012-olympics-series-cheat-sheet/ They're actually pretty great. If somebody out there wants any, let me know and I'll try to pick some up. I've already helped out one member on here with a full case, and it's likely I can get another one if someone is keen.
  3. Couldn't have said it better myself....and I tried! Even if you don't return to the Minimate game, I hope we still get updates on your 1/6 stuff as I loved your Indy work.
  4. what toy line is this from? I like the looks of it and may want to hunt it out for myself Jeff of the Miniacs It's just from the Avengers movie toyline. Similar sort of box to the quinjet. Comes with an awful Captain America figure...he doesn't even have a shield. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007L3PL8U/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
  5. My local supermarket has started to clearance out most of it's toys. Had my eye on one of these for a while, and managed to snag one for less than a fiver (about 8 dollars to my American friends). Considering to go back and get the Iron Man Jet thing too, although why Iron Man would need a jet is beyond me. Good playability, and I think the scale is pretty good. Someone more talented than me could probably give it a great repaint, but I don't think I'll bother. Still need to pick up a Quinjet....
  6. Ok, considering that I rarely watch this show, I clearly have a problem! Have been picking up the single packs when on sale, and today bought some of the Dalek 5 packs, they were only £2.25. So yeah, if someone wants any of these, I'm your man
  7. I remember from last year that there was absolutely nothing around the centre for food and drink. Figured the village would be the best place for booze. I'm curious about the guest signings. Looking to meet Adam West and Burt Ward, but will I spend all Friday morning queuing up to get a signature? I went last year, but didn't bother with the signatures of anyone so not sure what to expect. Especially considering theyre nothing like our Cons.
  8. My Sky sub doesn't cover that, but I saw the advert and was considering upgrading! Was it good fun?
  9. Thanks for confirming. It's not something I'd ever considered before, but they make a big point of this guys nationality, and the question popped into my brain.
  10. I know very little about GL, in fact outside of JLA books and things like Kingdom Come, I have never even read a GL story. So question for all of you fans: are all of Earth's representatives to the GL corps American? And if so, is there a reason why? A story reason I mean, not that they fear readers will not relate or something. Edit: just to be clear, I'm not looking to provoke anything, I'm just genuinely curious. He is an Arab-American, but why does he specifically have to have anything to do with America at all?
  11. Hey everyone I realise we have a thread to discuss exclusives for NYCC, but thought we could use this as a general discussion thread. Me and my girlfriend will be staying with a friend for the week proceeding it and fly home on the Saturday night of the Con. Debating what sort of ticket to get. Will definitely be going on the Friday, but looking at getting a 4-day ticket, so I will have the option of going on Thursday and Saturday too. The weigh up in my mind is, do I spend $85 on a 4 day ticket to possibly only attend on the Thurs and Friday (seeing as I fly home on the Saturday)? Or should I just get a Friday ticket, and have the extra $50 in my pocket to spend frivolously? Has anyone been on the Thursday night before? Is it the same as every other day, e.g. all stores open for business, just quieter and without the 'featured guests'? Would be great to get a meet up sorted to go for a few beers at some point.....or Appletinis if you prefer. Maybe we could kidnap Zach for a few hours if he isn't too busy. Also looking for advice on great eats, drinks and fun spots in the city. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  12. An office fave, but my immature taste buds can't cope with it. If we ever get the UK meet up to happen, I will buy you a pint for sure!
  13. Little kids know who Dr Doom is, calling them Doombots associates them with the good Dr which helps the kiddies out. So when they pick up the packs at their comic store they know that the 'Doombots' are bad guys AND that they need to also pick up a Doom minimate to lead them. That's what I reckon anyway.
  14. That is fantastic Hav, very original. As someone who has very little artistic ability I must say a big 'well done' to all the entrants so far. Some great stuff, and some entries that I never expected. Competitions likes this show just what a special odd creative bunch we all are
  15. I'll be in for the Street Fighter mates. Have no interest in Tekken, so if anyone out there is in the boat on the opposite side of the lake, then let me know and we can split packs.
  16. Good to know, thanks very much. Perhaps that's the reason why Amazon stopped taking preorders.
  17. Is anyone preordering the Avengers box set with the Tesseract? I foolishly waited on preordering it from Amazon, and now can't find it for a decent price
  18. I'm struggling to keep up with my Marvel collection, as well as the start of Walking Dead etc, so at best I will only be able to dabble with this line. That said, despite most of us being of the 'what is going on with this line, we've waited long enough' persuasion, the proof is in the pudding, because the Gator actually looks pretty awful in comparison to what is in the pipeline for BB. I understand that our vices work in mysterious ways, but I think that if you were only just getting on board with the BB 'mates then you wouldn't necessarily need to track down a gator for your collection, as he will look well out of place side by side with the others. Completists will vehemently disagree of course. That's just my £0.0126.
  19. Beautiful stuff. Love the Ameratsu and your painting style really suits Vorin and brings out his details nicely.
  20. Edit: that'll teach me to read properly in future! I thought this was for Lance Armstrong. Moron I am. Only just seen the news on Neil and it is very sad. A true legend in every sense of the word. My parents were children of that era, and they are obsessed with the Apollo missions. When I look at the moon, I do often think 'how the bloody hell did they do that!'. Brave blokes all 3 of them.
