  1. It is SO hard to find figures in my area! One Target had put out one case of Wave 13? (The X-Men Wave that should have been out months ago), and all that was left was First Appearance Wolverine. I doubt if I'll even see another case there. I did FINALLY come across the Silver Samurai pack and bought him although I resented having to buy another Wolvie. At least he's in a new outfit, although one of his most boring ones. Silver Samurai looks good though. He is one BIG guy and very detailed:
  2. Dang. We all must be on the same page. I've only been getting the B&W versions so I'm also bummed with no Bride.
  3. I'm not trying to me a smartass but Amaterasu is a "She".
  4. I had "buyer's remorse" shortly after I ordered it, but once I got it in person, that went away. It's one of the coolest things I ever put together. Lately I'd been complaining that a lot of the minimate releases were characters I already had. I guess I should stop whining, because I wouldn't have been able to get this if a ton of new minimates I wanted came out. I'd like to use this in some kind of minimate storyline, someday. Like I did with Jabba's Sail Barge a while back. Anyway, I'll say that I'm happy with the purchase. It was SO fun to build!
  5. Just thought I'd share some pics. I really love this ship... I'm thinking of having the crew help in a Minimate exodus. The set comes with Brickbeard, who looks like he's been through the ringer. You can shackle him and throw him in the rat-infested brig. A lot of people have complained that the ship only comes with 4 cannons instead of eight, but what they fail to realize is that there needs to be room to pull the cannon back and reload: Very cool galley The Captain's deck and cabin interior are my favorite parts of the ship! This thing is TALL, Don't fall from the crow's nest, please.
  6. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Storm. I was just thinking that her old hairpiece with the tiara was a little dated. I'll be getting this update if it looks good. For the most part, I'll probably be skipping the Marvel vs. Capcom minimates though. I love the game, and I've found the Capcom characters shown to be particularly interesting, but I just can't justify getting more Iron Mans, Hulks, Wolverines, & Spideys. The Phoenix minimate wasn't different enough from the old one either. They sure look nice, though. I suppose it's just that since I collect Marvel Universe, Star Wars, & the occasional Lego set, some things have to get cut.
  7. Actually the Psylocke is the only one I want. I'll agree that she is more B list than some other characters, but she was involved in a lot of good X-stories wearing that outfit (although the hairpiece is inaccurate). Four versions of Psylocke isn't really that much considering Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean, and Angel all have far more...and it's a very different look for her rather than the slight variation between her X-Force costume and Jim Lee outfit.
  8. Well, I wouldn't mind if it meant I could get a Mandarin. Of course it astounds me that anybody thought that flooding the market with 20 Iron Men to 1 new character was a good idea... and finally there is a figure I want from that line and it's nowhere to be seen. What's worse is they haven't seemed to learn their lesson in the Thor or Cap lines either. Who wants to make a bet that by the time they decide to release Sif, the stores will look at all the unsold Thors and discontinue it?
  9. I was reading a post over on Marvelous News, that mentioned that the very figure you're talking about may be re-issued in an upcoming case assortment (like what they did with Bullseye). If that's true, the value will drop drastically. I would check that out to see if it's true, if you want to sell it. If enough people know about about it, it may already be hard to sell it for a decent price. And although I'd love to see you make a profit, Youbastards...I've been happy that Hasbro has been re-releasing "hard to find figures" so that those of us who missed them have a chance at snagging them... well, as good of a chance as we usually do for this toy line. I consider all of the figures hard to find unless you pre-order online.
  10. Fantastic set! Love Queen Anne's Revenge: PS. I loved this so much, I ordered the Imperial Flagship today... OUCH, my aching wallet. I'm justifying the cost by the fact that I haven't bought any video games in months and my birthday is next month. I'll post some pics when I get it in a week or so.
  11. I picked up 4 of these at TRU, today. They look great in my new Queen Anne's Revenge Lego set:
  12. Even though I would prefer a comics-accurate movie, so that I won't constantly have to tell people who've only seen the movies that they are wrong about most X-Men facts, I have to swallow my pride and admit that I was wrong when I told everyone that this movie would suck. Despite, missing all of my favorite characters, this movie really entertained me! So when I went to TRU today, I bought all of these minimates (and I NEVER buy movie versions). In case anyone wants to see any more pics...Here are my inventory pics:
  13. The way I understand it is that with the MU line recently, by the time the variants come out, they are considered a running change on the figure... making them easier to find than the older, "normal" variations. What really cracks me up about the ebay sellers is that they all hike up the prices and NEVER come down on them, even months later when the interest in the figure has fallen. Example: I see tons of the variant "classic" Havok on ebay, but they can all sit there unbought, FOREVER, if they think I'm going to pay that much for them. lol
  14. On a whim, I bought The new Lego Queen Anne's Revenge. Really great Lego set by the way. Anyhow, I have a friend who's a big X-Men fan like me, and lately we haven't liked the totalitarian direction that Cyclops' character has taken, so I sent him this on my Iphone: Cyclops: I'm King of the World! Storm: Oh, knock it off.
  15. I haven't seen them before. What are they made of? Are they hard or squishy? If they're edible I'm sold!
  16. There is no excuse for Mattel not to make decent figures at this scale. I've checked out their DC Universe line and they look great. Their Infinite Heroes 3 3/4" line looked cheap to me. Even the new Green Lantern line is WAY sub-par to the MU line. It's shameful. As long as they continue to put out figures with poor sculpts and articulation, I won't buy them...and I just don't have the room for the Universe figures. If they can get their act together and make 4 inch figures that are the quality of MU or their larger scale lines, then I have some business for them. I would be all over JLA, JSA, LSH, Titans, Batman ect. in this scale. Come to think of it, My rant is almost identical to when DC quit on minimates and started trying to peddle those Blammoid (sp?) block-thing monstrosities to us. What's wrong with you DC? LOL
  17. Here are the pics I took of the new Cyclops and Gladiator. Even though the Jim Lee costume was never my favorite for Cyke, I have to say that this is the BEST Cyclops figure so far. Gladiator is awesome. There were flaws in his paint job but the overall sculpt is great .
  18. Just recently got some of the Captain America line: I bought Red Skull, WWII Cap, Barnes Cap, & a regular looking Cap to replace my Secret Wars one. I like that the Captain America line had more Comic Book versions than the Thor line has. Although some of the Thor figures look nice, I can't bring myself to buy movie versions of the characters.
  19. You know what? I can't believe I forgot Rogue's outback costume. Probably more important than her Savage Land get-up.
  20. Here's the upcoming Weequay Skiff Master. I snagged him off ebay:
  21. I picked up a Ghost Rider (this was the first time I'd seen one in the wild) and a new variant of Ms. Marvel (Moonstone) at Target today. There was also a variant of Warpath. I didn't get the Warpath because I prefer the black and silver outfit and with Thunderbird coming out soon, I know someone will snatch him up who appreciates him more than me. I'm not that interested in the Dark Avengers, and I love my Carol Danvers version, but this variant of Karla Sofen does look great and luckily had a good paint job. Here's a pic:
  22. Wrong section. Sorry. Do want some of the Universal Monsters though.
  23. Got my Kit and Zam today! Kit Fisto is a great figure with ball-jointed hips. It kinda makes up for the fact that he can't move his head. It just can't be helped with those long dreadlock-like tentacles. The cape looks good and he is very imposing looking next to the other Jedi...he's very tall and wide shouldered compared to some of the others. He also has an unlit lightsaber you can attach to his belt. Zam came with all sorts of accessories: Her helmet has goggles that move down, a veil, a folded up veil, and her Clawdite head. The helmet fits her human head and Clawdite head perfectly. I wanted to make her look a little more feminine and used a sharpie on her eyes, but I think I ended up making her look sort of like Marlena Dietrich. Oh well. She's a great figure...Very detailed!
  24. Just got the new Mace Windu. This figure looks a lot like Samuel Jackson. In photos, the lightsaber looks dark blue which is unfortunate, but in person, you can tell it's purple, thank goodness. I have a Kit Fisto and Zam Wessell on the way.
