PICTURE HEAVY POST cheers! i repeatedly added v.thin coats of paint to vulture's wings... each time going from top to bottom, hoping it'd look a bit like feathers. glad it gave that sort of impression. now for something a little different, thought i'd throw some of my designs up here... its not something i'd ever really done til recently, and they've become as fun to do as they are helpful when completing a custom. I'd really recommend it to anyone that doesn't do it already. It can also be fun to see how the mate differs from design to finished article. bit of a coincidence that this is relatively new news... watched the entire first series again yesterday/today, only noticing that info on the wiki page. Thought the 2nd season was a cert. A real shame, v.much enjoyed it... though the Wolverine love and treatment of Scott was appalling. I'll be signing those petitions... can't do any harm!

I genuinely think you've been tricked into seeing a different film to the rest of the world... go get your money back, pronto. the hard back version was deliberately released to coincide with the film's release. There is a TPB version available, but it seems v.much to be marketed as film merchandise... pics from the movie on the front, etc.

ding ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! i found myself thinking about making a MS custom all the way through the first episode... trying to come up with a recipe in my head... thats the same hair i thought of! Jacket certainly works as well... nice one!

same as you sir... Citadel Colour Elf Flesh.. though i added a tiny amount of white, as BC's face is also a little pale compared to usual minimate skin tone. CC E.flesh is however an absolutely perfect match to the thick flesh tone on Spider-man. thanks for the positive comments everyone!

Black Manta I believe this is Mystery Man's recipe... a Pocket Heroes Black Manta with the shiniest, blackest blank black minimate torso available. i've certainly had that problem in the past... but it went straight on these guys, no problems what so ever

my set came in the post on thursday, and i immediately started Project: Justify Purchase. i've repaired Spider-Man and Black Cat's skin tone... absolutely loving the Spidey now, looks fantastic. BC's two skin tones are a much better match now... not perfect, but certainly near enough. Vulture's wings only needed to be made a little greener... for anyone interested, Citadel Colour 'Scorpion Green' is a perfect match to his comic appearance. Doc Ock isn't quite finished... mine came with almost no yellow on him at all... so i'm still applying layer after layer of the yellow stuff to bring him up to scratch. After pushing the holes a little bigger with a thin pair of scissors, there was no problem getting the tentacles in. will stick a pic up tomorrow

yeah, come halloween i know i will as well, if everyone decided to wait, we may not even get to see some of the others. i can't see these sets not doing pretty well... its another line that will bring in interest from non-minimate fans

2 weeks time... apparently

watched the new one about ten minutes ago, still got a bit grin on my face... superb! I fell in love with Matt's Dr. in a preview from last week, with the vampires and 'am I thinking what I think i'm thinking?'. The episode was brilliant, and it was the first time i've found myself thinking up minimate custom recipes whilst watching. Talking of love... great choice in new sidekick Doc... v.tasty. cannot wait for spitfires... in space! ...oh, and I also quite enjoyed that theme tune, sorry!

One thought I'm having is the hope that this means they may replace the head on Bela Lugosi's Dracula. That thing looked awful. To me at least. If they don't improve it before the release I will skip that one set in a line that I intend to get all that's released. i'd always thought the head Drac had at toy fair was clearly a mistake/replacement as they'd not designed his proper one yet. No way was that his proper intentional head, the CftBL set as good as confirms that

the fact there seems to be numerous civilian-esque mates really doesn't bother me, they're always nice for displays... plus these sets are worth the price for the monsters alone. however, the prospect of getting just Wolfman and CftBL, then waiting a year is pretty cruddy. i've not yet decided whether i'm going to bother or not.

i'm in the UK, if any beautiful US-based person would be able to pick me up a TRU Black Widow/Mk.II... I would love then unconditionally for all of time (as well as pay for it through paypal).

people seem pretty keen on a GB1 Janine... i'm not too fussed about that, but why not. Janosz is a must! If they made a ghost nanny version as well... that'd bring a tear to my eye!
