  1. Even though the sky's the limit with character possibilities in any MvC3 update, I find myself wanting to play more fighter-y characters. I'd really like to see Iron Fist, Daredevil, or Moon Knight in the game. But I bet they could do some really cool things with Kang. If X-23 is more or less confirmed, and since Thor and Cap have been mentioned, and Doom has been featured in promo art, that leaves the final slot to either She-Hulk or Shuma Gorath. Man, another She-Hulk would be so boring... while I'd love to see a Savage She-Hulk in the regular Marvel line, I have no interest in seeing another mini in her purple/white swimsuit look.
  2. Interesting... it all still leaves the question of who gets left out in this 18-figure equation. I personally hope that it will be X-23 but I still fear that it will be Shuma Gorath due to the challenges in adapting his tentacle-y form to the mini-style. Though the other DLC character Jill Valentine is getting a figure... ...there is also the matter of members of the Capcom MvC3 team allegedly attending SDCC, which lends some credence to recent theories about a "Super" version of the game on the horizon with more characters. Maybe this will go beyond three waves?
  3. Yes, this thread's about the MvC3 license. We could write 1000s of posts about how they could infuse the regular Marvel line with more villains (and we have). But re: MvC3, consider... they may actually get to everyone in the game, which would be great. It was mentioned that MODOK would be in "Wave 3," so we know the pattern of 4 Marvel characters in each wave + 2 exclusive to TRU x 3 waves = 18 characters. That only leaves one character out of the 19 unmade! I hope they don't exclude Shuma Gorath... Here's how I have it figured, with W2TRU and W3s being guesses: W1: Deadpool, Phoenix, Iron Man, Dormammu W1TRU: Magneto, Hulk, [iron Man], [Deadpool] W2: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Super Skrull W2TRU: Taskmaster, She-Hulk, [spider-Man], [Wolverine] W3: Captain America, Thor, MODOK, X-23 W3TRU: Sentinel, Dr. Doom, [Captain America], [Thor] ...that config leaves Shuma Gorath high and dry, but who knows what the final lists will actually look like. Hopefully we'll see the whole line at SDCC.
  4. Kronans. the "Stone Men from Saturn." Look like Easter Island heads, fought Thor in his first Journey Into Mystery appearance: http://monsterblog.oneroom.org/meet_the_monsters/the_stone_men_from_saturn.html Dire Wraiths. http://marvel.wikia.com/Dire_Wraiths Apart from these, I'll second the aforementioned Brood, Mandroids, SHIELD, Kree (more ranks), Ultimatum, Sons of the Serpent, Lava Men, Moloids, Alpha Primitives, Badoon, Kree Sentries, Mindless Ones and Multiple Man (though I want classic/FA not 90s). To answer the question posed in this topic then: there are TONS left if DST/AA want to continue pursuing this model.
  5. I can't let myself get too excited about a MVC3 box set, mostly b/c I know it wouldn't contain a MODOK. Though a new Super Skrull would be cool.
  6. My bad! I also get too excited when any opportunity presents itself for me to compulsively shout out Thor villains. It's a rare type of Tourette's Syndrome. Thorette's Syndrome. [crickets] Executioner!!!
  7. Ulik, Hela, Enchantress, Executioner, Surtur, Ymir, Kurse, Malekith, Man-Gog, Seth, Karnilla, Pluto, Lorelei... to name a few off the top of my head. (I'm a Thor fan) And also, though they went on to do their own diverse things, I believe Cobra and Mr. Hyde were originally Thor foes.
  8. Morg's the only one I don't care about. I voted for Air-Walker, as he seems to be the least likely of the ones that I do want (I did the same for Molecule Man back in the SW voting). Honestly, it's all "win" with this selection. Except for Morg.
  9. I'd buy that. The Zodiac were always pretty cool, and they'd make very sharp looking figures. However, if Chuck thinks that the likes of Kang and the Wrecking Crew are too obscure, what are the chances for the Zodiac? I think, thankfully, that Chuck isn't the only one involved in character selection. There's no other explanation for our getting figures like Safari Wonder Man, 1st app Mandarin, Stilt-Man, Molecule Man, etc. Plenty of true obscurity in this line. And I'm saying all this because I am really hoping for Kang and the WC. I think Chuck even mentioned once that Zemo hadn't even come up in character discussions... are we even reading the same comics?? All that said, yeah Zodiac's a long shot. But right up there with the Serpent Squad as far as villain teams I'd really like to see in MiniMates.
  10. I'd be happy if the variant figures in the LCS wave would be either: Classic Falcon / 1st Appearance Falcon Baron Zemo I / Baron Zemo II Army builders could be: Mandroids Ultimatum Soldiers SHIELD Agents Sons of the Serpent Totally off-topic - I think I'd really like to see SHIELD/Zodiac two-packs. Lead off with Classic Nick Fury / Scorpio with a Stealth Fury / Scorpio 1st App variant, then go on to pair famous agents with Zodiac members, like Sharon Carter, Dum Dum Dugan, Jimmy Woo, Quartermain, Sitwell, Maria Hill, Countess Valentina, etc. I'd like to see all of the classic uniformed ranks... SHIELD Ranks
  11. It seems to me that Chuck, who handles the QA and communications, is not the biggest Marvel buff at DST. Not that he isn't a Marvel buff, but I think their design team is way more deep into Marvel. So I don't know that Chuck has full visibility into what's being considered. He's said stuff in QAs in the past that has left me scratching my head, like how they've never considered doing Zemo for example. I don't buy it, considering all the obscurity they've been able to pack into the line so far. I think there might be a disconnect between Chuck and the designers. But then again, there's a HUGE villain-gap in the series, so who knows what's going on behind those doors? DST! LISTEN TO THIS! MORE VILLAINS, PLEASE! There's this little "Avengers" movie I've been hearing about coming soon, and I think that team may have a s#%t-ton of villains associated with it over the years... Back to the topic at hand, I voted for Freedom Force. A super toyetic, classic, colorful, all-villain 4-pack of X-Men adversaries. What's not to like?
  12. As far as I know, Dan isn't in MvC3. I guess he could be DLC at some point, but I'd put his chances at being a minimate at less than one percent.
  13. Classic X-Men: Sunfire, Banshee, Mimic, First Appearance Rogue Avengers: Black Knight, Falcon, Jocasta, Tigra Freedom Force: Blob, Avalanche, Pyro, Destiny Masters of Evil: Zemo, Black Knight I, Melter, Enchantress Marvel Monsters: Dracula, Zombie, Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing Comedy Pack: Forbush Man, Howard the Duck, Squirrel Girl, Amazing Bag-Man Martial Arts: Shang-Chi, Zaran, Iron Fist Classic, Steel Serpent 70s Heroes: Jack of Hearts, Machine Man, Killraven, Deathlok
  14. Nothing on TRU.com yet either, huh? Man... really looking forward to that Magik/Warlock 2-pack.
  15. Thanks for the heads-up, folks. My set's on order now too, as well as a Super Hero Squad Taskmaster / Deadpool 2-pack, since I'm such a sucker for Taskmaster figures.
  16. Loving the customs, I.C.! I think the elongated arms look great on Wolfsbane. I don't know if the cut is to your liking, but I used Hank Pym (Avengers Box Ant-Man) hair for Cypher -- based on the Battlestar Galactica Classic Starbuck.
  17. Good one. Also: Howard the Duck and Man-Thing.
  18. I totally dig this wave if it's the real lineup... bout time for a new Elektra, and I love the fact that they always seem to sneak in an obscure choice, like the original White Tiger. Definitely merits cookies, but they are fortune cookies, and they come with a subliminal message for 2011... *usetheCapandThormovieexposuretodeliversomemoreVILLAINSincomicbasedlines* [cough] We need more villainy! [cough]
  19. When do you expect to hear info about Wave 38? Toy Fair, or sooner? I am half wondering if they'll move away from traditionally numbered waves, esp. with all the movie product opportunities next year. Between Cap, Thor, and X-Men: First Class, that's at least three waves, with enough characters for six or more depending on how they stagger the goods. You know, waves vs. singles vs. boxed sets. With so much potential movie product, I'm hoping they'll squeeze in some comic-themed packs based on Cap and Thor at least. As for 38, with 37 being un-themed I can't hazard a guess.
  20. Looks like the cape and boots from the upcoming AOA Magneto.
  21. That Juggernaut looks sick. And Magik is awesome.
  22. Because I'm too lazy to paint, I used the GB Architect hair, Champs Ghost Rider belt, and Shocker boots. (though I agree Valkyrie's hair would look better) Head is BSG Tory Foster:
  23. Guess I'll be adding Disney Store dot-com to my regular watch list until this set comes out. I like the eye-less Iron Man, though I would have liked it more if they had brought them closer together. Thor is a big "win," though they gave him the modern helmet design. I'll be swapping it out for the old one. Cap and Spidey = more of the same, which I'm OK with.
