  1. Yeah, I appreciated the diversity. Like MiniMates, in that the line(s) were a mix of up-to-the-second editorial, animated series, and classics. My interest in Marvel toys goes all the way back to the Megos I had when I was very young, but Secret Wars hit at the peak of my young toy collecting. So of course, as my sig suggests, I'm still holding out for a Constrictor to finish that lineup. But I'm getting off-topic: This Wolverine series is awesome and I'm psyched. I think the only specifically Wolvie character left that I'd really like to see is Wendigo. Which could be considered an army builder.
  2. Eh. I'm one of those grumpy old guys who saw this as one of the precursors to the "Nineties Nadir." I liked the black costume, and the death of the symbiote, when it sacrificed itself to save Peter. And I always thought it should have ended there. Making it into a big monster with teeth just seemed like "doin' too much." But this was a time of excess in the comics I suppose.
  3. That's funny... I've actually done that in a spreadsheet. Heavily edited though - like I didn't count the millions of Spidey variants. IIRC, we're mostly missing the oddball 90s characters from e.g. the X-Force line, X-Men 2099, Generation X, etc.
  4. Yeah no disrespect for the creativity involved, I just prefer the classics & more grounded stuff. I should probably mention that I have always hated Venom, and anything Venom-related.
  5. Also: I think it's possible to do a QC of Quark with Vorin, if you don't mind painting on his eyepatch.
  6. Funny you should mention that... ToyBiz "back in the day" apparently mocked up a Mojo World box set with the existing figures, less Spiral for some strange reason:
  7. Fun thread. Here's me, Hailing Ivan all the way. Favorite: and ... I am a student of the classics Least Favorite: ... I mean, come on. Wtf is this. Future: ...and I'm sure fans of the Imperial Guard would support an alt head with this.
  8. I think Mindless Ones are important to get to still, likewise Madrox classic. bigvis, I totally agree about the visual coolness factor. They're probably my #1 army builder want at this point. I also hope they get around to Hydro Armor Iron Man - one of the last remaining bronze age suits. Waves like this and 69 speak to me - nice big chunks of my bucket list removed at once. Samurai, Mojo & Spiral were all in my Top 10 X-List - guess it's time to re-write it! With Mojo out of the way, I guess the next big "design challenge" MiniMate has to be Ego the Living Planet or Shuma Gorath...
  9. Sweet Holy Fuck. What has two thumbs and is stoked about this wave? This guy. Nice work DST. Kudos. Props. Thanks even. Mojo & Spiral... wow. Arrow Wolverine is pretty cool. I'll buy any number of main character variants if they have fun novelty value, features or pack-ins.
  10. If I don't see a Fin Fang photo by Friday, I'm calling Fin Fang FAIL! (kidding. but yes, thirded, please share your custom. )
  11. Thanks for the tip, Luke. I'll definitely be extra careful when opening mine.
  12. That Stick looks great, and will stand in nicely for a 616 version.
  13. I think the Godzilla mates are a good example of what's possible, as is MODOK, as are some of the Battle Beasts and all of the other wacky form factors they've designed over the history of the 2" lines. Why I think Monsters Unleashed would have worked as a series of 2-packs includes exactly what you mention - the opportunity to package each monster with an A-lister or important hero in a contemporary costume. Best of both worlds: new monsters, and heroes from current editorial on the shelf at the same time. Honestly, the ship has probably sailed on timing a release for this event, but I get happy whenever the Monsters grab a little spotlight. I still have this HC collection from the last time we saw some Monster-love:
  14. I get it, but I want the characters so badly, and think they'd introduce some great variety to the line, that I don't want to say "only if they're big." We know the limitations of this license - it hasn't, and likely won't, change - so I don't want to write off entire swaths of interesting / wacky characters just because of the size issue. We've had universal 2-inch minis for the entire line.
  15. I think the precedent for everything being mono-sized has been set with the likes of Galactus. I've come to accept it - I'd rather have the characters at any size than no size at all.
  16. Monsters Unleashed is a big new upcoming crossover thing, and I'd be pumped for some monster minis. It begs for "vs" packs, or a couple box sets. Love me some Marvel monster weirdness.
  17. Gotta admit I'm still partial to that original Nightcrawler head - so much character. Some old 'Mates will never be replaced, like the original Doctor Doom.
  18. Um, upvote for Phantom Rider. Mega. Want that dude. Crazy Town would be: Western 4-Pack: Phantom Rider, Kid Colt, Two-Gun Kid and Rawhide Kid. Lots of Kids. I'm not kidding.
  19. Hanzo has not "officially" found a place yet. But it's possible he'll be in BlindS3, or (seems less likely) TRU3. Others not placed yet: Anna, Isabelle, Jerry Lambert.
  20. I like all of these choices. And I like BuffaloD's suggestion of classic Madrox as an army builder. Frankly, there are still a lot of X-Men characters I'd drop some coin on.
  21. I thought it was meant to be the retro pred from Predators?
