  1. I think even posting on this forum qualifies us as nerds. Nerd pride-quick everyone make the "live long and prosper" sign with their fingers! It's the nerd version of the black power salute (amoungst my nerd herd anyways).
  2. It's the inscrutable blank facial expression and basic women's work attire. The face screams "I will not show any reaction, I will not show that I'm freaking the hell out..." something that both women had happen fairly often. And women's business suits are very similar-pretty much a nun's outfit minus the habit.
  3. I always figured that part didn't grow proportionately-after all his pants always stay on.
  4. I colored all of my panty-less crotch pieces with colored Sharpie after a little girl I babysit picked up Mary Marvel and asked why she had no panties on. She apparently later reported to her parents that staying with me was fun, and that I had "a lot of toys without all their clothes on." I have a few miniature Greek/Roman statues (8 inches) which were probably the cause-but still!
  5. There are so many iconic and recognizable movies on this list...I think that since they are making For a Few Dollars More minimates they will not necessarily stay in the sci-fi genre. Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind have the most general memorabilia crap (not to be offensive but the amount of ceramic stuff I have seen for sale in thrift stores and Hollywood tourist traps boggles the mind) and have some very recognizable characters-might be fun. And I am in total support of the Lector/Clarice pack-with liver and Chianti of course. Brains are also acceptable.
  6. Hello and welcome-I'm guessing you're a Simpsons Movie fan?
  7. If you are a member of this board, I don't think your finances are ever going to win.
  8. Dear Ella Graham Martin, May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy. Welcome to the world!
  9. The Real Ghostbusters Christmas episode/special wherein they eliminate the Ghosts of Christmas, leading to a world where Scrooge's Bah Humbug book is a bestseller and there is no Christmas cheer was always one of my favorites.
  10. Oooo, that was fun in a gory way. Good for the guy at the end to shoot him enough to make sure-although for safety's sake I'd then cut the guy's head off. Three in the head and they're dead might not apply with this guy.
  11. Minimates are clearly a hazard to your health, for they led me to this forum, and this thread, which caused me to laugh my ass off. Minimates are to blame for the loss of my ass. As Izzy said in The Mummy Returns "I'm in mourning for my ass." Clearly someone must pay for my trauma. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks they smell good. But I also used to advocate for a perfume that smelled like fresh Play-Doh.
  12. Oh no, he's not forcing you to make fortune cookie fortunes too is he? Might as well write "You will find true love on flag day" since the pleas for rescue never work and the ensuing copyright lawsuit from The Simpsons might blow this whole sick mess wide open.
  13. Over all, I'd say this place embodies all that is wonderful about fannish internet forums: supportive community, place to discuss obsessions, and the occasional sign that some of The Powers That Be are paying attention to what we think/say.
  14. It's Disco Brain-convenient for those Dance parties that can break out at any moment. Simply lovely.
  15. Pleased to meet you, and welcome to this lovely corner (sidebit, random piece of the middle, etc.) of the internet.
  16. Good job making Toxin look distinct from Venom and Carnage.
  17. That picture is just perfectly awesome, awesomely perfect. Couldn't be better-provided the hand laser kicks equal ass. Now if they just got a decent script...
  18. That is made of epic WIN. Now you just need a big ape for Mallah and you've got your quota of gay disembodied scientist/gorilla supervillians (a part of any nutritous breakfast) fulfilled. Adding in details like that will make this the gift that keeps on giving years down the line.
  19. That is totally awesome and will probably be enjoyed by your kids for a long time-I know my dollhouse was the last of my childhood toys to really hold out. Of course, then I moved on to action figures and minimates so perhaps me still playing with my dollhouse at thirteen is just me being weird. At that point they were exiled French aristocrats who suffered from PTSD due to Grandpa having witnessed The Terror. You know what, I think we can narrow it down to me being weird. Still, this will be something to treasure for years-way to be a great parent!
  20. Personally I prefer it when you can't use a human being as an ironing board but to each their own. I'm delighted you added Minimate Database to the re-direct list-now my minimate reference sites are all together.
  21. I feel incredibly dim for not noticing the "Availability" sort. I just had issues when I was using Google search to do price comparisons on minimates, and figured with the minimate database we didn't need the reference pictures. All in all, I love your site and bow to the wishes of the majority.
  22. I can't help it, it may be spam but...Peanut Butter Jelly Time! It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
  23. I am going to be a total girl and admit that the only movie I've seen in theaters lately is Enchanted. (In my defense the movies I recently watched on DVD are Pulp Fiction and LA Confidential). I took my autistic younger sister and both she and I enjoyed it, although there were some cringingly sugary moments. My little sister mostly enjoyed the Patrick Dempsey character (she is very shallow), while I laughed/was grossed out by the scene where the animated fairytale heroine, brought to real-world New York, sings along with vermin (cockroaches, rats, pigeons) while cleaning the apartment. It has some fun subversions of Disney tropes and points out just how absurd large spontaneous singing and dancing numbers and true love at first sight are, but then goes ahead and does them anyway. The heroine asking the prince to go out on a date before they return to the fairytale kingdom and wed was amusing, as was the ratty henchmen of the evil queen insisting on watching the soap opera wherein the woman told the man he was vermin. The henchmen then goes: Sire, do you like yourself? Idiotic but attractive prince: Of course, what's not to like? All in all it was no Beauty and the Beast/Lion King, but it was also no Dinosaur or straight to video release. I would be willing to get this on DVD to watch with kids, but wouldn't view again on my own. Rating 6/10- 10/10 being I will force everyone I know to watch this, 1/10 being I left gagging before it was finished, 5/10 being had some moments but I would never watch again. Caveat-I tend to be a harsh critic.
  24. :::Flails arms wildly::: Oh noes! Dispensing with that foppishness-there is a chance of me getting a Leoben 'mate with out having to get a custom. Rejoice and pass the tax rebates-Whoo hoo! I hope it isn't more classic Cylons though, even if the boxy hint seems to indicate that.
  25. Now if they would only update their loose minimate section-I hate it when they list figures they haven't had in stock for months!
