  1. Until reading that press release, I totally didn't pick up on 28 supposedly being a Wolverine wave... do Psylocke and Wolverine have some particular history/relationship, beyond just being in the X-Men at the same time? I also didn't realize Deadpool had a particular Wolvie connection (oustide of being in the upcoming movie). Bit before my time I guess... Anyway, these look awesome, first time in a long time I'll be buying all 8 packs...
  2. Wow, only 8 members are interested in Excalibur? I guess it is hard to tell what's really got a following around here, instead of just the perception of a lot of interest... It got my main vote, since having AFX specifically request it is probably the only way DSTChuck will ever approve a Captain Britain mate...
  3. That's true, the last hour would've all been condensed into about 5 minutes of "Star Trek finale time". It's nice they took their time with it, and didn't let the plot overwhelm all the great character stuff. TT-F, I also found the
  4. I liked it a lot. Overall it felt like the show really reached a natural conclusion, instead of dragging on or being cut short, which is rare on TV...
  5. Wow, I've never seen BBTS cancel anything, maybe they got a sternly worded email from DST or something, after they didn't cancel the preorders like all the other online stores 2 months ago... After a quick search, it looks like the preorders they had for the Ghost Rider moviemates and the Spidey maximate are finally gone too, although Rocky III and the Spidey 3 Previews box are still up... guess those'll be out any day now
  6. What was Marvel Zombies? They've done 5 packs plenty of times. Also... I'm guessing by "the packaging formats you see right now" he means current releases? To do a 5-pack now they'd have to design a whole new box with another window in the front, it'd be a big hassle
  7. That was a great premiere, they really juggled the various storylines well and kept the pace fast... Did you guys get 90 minutes in the US? I thought it was supposed to be three episodes, but they only showed 2 up here. Also, were those Now that the show's back, I'm really wishing we would've gotten Animated-style Arcee and figures though
  8. I like your blind box jumble in the last photo With the minimate lull at the moment I've been on a bit of a Labbit/Tokidoki kick...
  9. Well like I said he seemed really rejuvenated those last couple weeks of Late Night, so he'll likely carry that energy over into the Tonight Show... should be good!
  10. I haven't seen it because I thought it was geared towards really young kids, but I've actually heard good things from a couple of people lately, so I'll try to remember to tape it this week along with Spidey... I did enjoy JLU a lot (just bought a Bruce Timm sketchbook/interview thing yesterday actually).
  11. I agree Conan's sketch stuff remained funny, if less consistently so, I was put off more by his interviewing I guess. If it was a woman he'd always do that "nerd nervously talking to a hot chick" schtick, and guys he'd just suck up to in a similarly "schticky" way, it just seemed increasingly tired/stupid to me. Back in the day with Richter, he was very spontaneous and funny with the guests. The best stuff with Conan is always when he goes and films on location, then he's just spot on. The first half of Letterman basically isn't worth watching, as you say (and Paul is totally creepy!), but his interaction with the guests is still great. (Especially since your other option at that timeslot is Leno, who couldn't make an interview with Jesus interesting.) But Fallon's not bothering me, since I mostly switched to Ferguson a while back...
  12. I wouldn't say he's good, but comparing him to Carson Daly is just mean! He got the hosting gig because Late Night is produced by Lorne Michaels (sp?), who also produces SNL where Fallon was actually kinda funny hosting the news with Tina Fey. I feel like Conan got progressively less funny since way back when Andy Richter left, it's like he was getting bored, but the last few weeks were hilarious with all the "best of" clips, and Conan trashing his set with a sledgehammer to give pieces to audience members. The last Masturbating Bear segment was great too... Generally Craig Ferguson's a lot better though.
  13. Wait, is the show cancelled too? I thought Dinobot just meant the toy line. Well that blows. The only other cartoon worth watching these days is the new Spider-Man. They need to get going on that Avatar sequel series. Or I need to stop watching children's television. One or the other.
  14. Given the sarcasm levels on this board, you're just setting yourself up there... Shame about no Arcee fig, I liked her design on the show. Beyond that, they did manage to release almost all the TFA characters in under a year, so at least there's no *huge* gaps in the line.
  15. Well now I'm torn, having already agreed to hate him! It's like my parents' divorce all over again...
  16. I dunno, it looks too big when he holds it up, but hopefully Matt is just a tiny human being. If not, that kinda blows -- since the Stay Puft bank thing is clearly designed as an unofficial Minimate accessory, I just assumed this was too. Excited to hear we might get more minimates next year though! Einstein would be great, preferably with a radioactivity suit Marty...
  17. Suddenly I am overwhelmed with hatred for New Cap... Actually his book sounds interesting, although his main contribution to New Avengers so far has been to bore me silly... of course he's only been in it for five minutes, and it could just be Bendis not knowing what to do with him, since he doesn't really "quip" like every other Bendis character. Even Bendis' Wolverine quips, but so far Bucky/Cap just stands around being Very Serious and bringing up The Memory Of Cap.
  18. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail I LOVE that Endor bike Scout, all the "trooper" uniforms work so well on the Mugg frame... and the pig dude's fun too Between all these online exclusive Muggs, the millions of upcoming mates they keep announcing, and various other stuff, my growing list of preorders on BBTS is starting to scare me a little though... it's like standing in front of a tidal wave of credit card debt.
  19. Seeing those two amazingly disparate images in quick succession just broke my eyes....
  20. Not big on many of the movie lines, but I think this would be awesome actually... The narrator's pretty non-specific, but if they did him in his "all beat up at work" look, and got the actor likeness perfect, I think it'd be more recognizable... Marla would be totally recognizable though, again they'd need to get the pissy expression just right, and a new hair sculpt with a "fountain" on top! Tyler in red, and Tyler in bathrobe (that's brilliant, Docholliday666) to round out the set (I don't think Bob and his manboobs would translate as well).. I can't see it actually happening, but the last time I said that was in the Ghostbusters speculative thread, so who the hell knows? Of course then we'd have to find a mini-penguin figure in the right scale -- SLIDE!
  21. American Greetings has been contacted to confirm/deny this. So far, they're unaware of any licensing agreement with Shocker. Um, okay then... By "must have the license" I just meant "would presumably have the license if they are displaying them", and (from a quick google search) claiming to have it. Although, obviously, **insert random joke about the trustworthiness of any Shocker claim here** My point was just that the images are of specific Madballs characters, not rip-offs.
  22. Those aren't rip-offs, those are actual Madballs (I can vaguely remember them having bodies in some '80s cartoon), they must have the license...
  23. As much fun as that would be to watch, the Mugg design is pretty much a rip off of those Munny/Dunny figures that have been around for several years. Leave it to Shocker to take such an easy design concept and make it look like a pile of crap though! And then stick a "don't touch" sign on it, like anyone would want to
  24. This is easily my favourite box set since Giant Size -- no throwaway mates for me, though I know a lot of you guys didn't want the Jewel (go read Alias and you will!)... Accessories would've been nice, but we've had so many flame bases shoved into every Iron Man box recently, it's not like they're hard to get ahold of, and the others aren't really missing anything obvious. Didn't even notice the bit of green on Beast (was too busy painting him some black X-Men briefs), but there were some dodgy paint apps on the Wolvie masks in all the sets I saw (the black bleeding over/under the lines)... The only real problem I had was the price, which seemed a bit crazy high, but still worth it.
  25. I hope not, since we have no such store north of the border, but I can always eBay it. In that other thread I thought people were just saying the Shock Trooper was a Target exclusive, and the rest were a regular wave, but I don't know...
