are these in comic shops today?

Would you say these two characters are off the table in general? I've done a custom P5 Namor, but tracking down another Magik is NOT going to be cheap...

that's kinda what i was thinking about doing, too.

i've been holding out on buying the Iron Fist that came out a year or two ago, hoping that they would release a new one with a (much needed) modern Luke Cage, so that would be where my vote went. an updated Wasp would be cool, but i would perfer her look just before Marvel Now. other than that, i'm not really sure what characters i think need a more updated look... although! a Phoenix Five Namor and Magik would be the bee's knees for sure!

i'm considering picking up the First Class set, but since they never made a Beast, does anyone have a suggestion for a quick, easy custom?

i passed over this set at my LCS and picked up the Excalibur set instead. when i went back to get it a week or 2 later, it was gone... i was pretty bummed, especially after prices sky rocketed online. fortunately, i have a pretty awesome boyfriend who bought it for me for my birthday. i coulda killed him when he told me how much he spent on it, but i love it!

if by some chance one of you comes across a magik/warlock set, please let me know! i have lots to trade for, or can pay as werll.

was this the case with MvC3 wave 3, too? i've looked at 3 stores in Portland, one near Seattle,and one in eastern Washington, and never saw these.

bah! Colonel, that's a great idea! i may not do Setry, but i never even thought of using the Norman head for a different character... i'm at work now so can't check myself, but does Galactus have a head that would work, too?

8 characters = Wolverine past/future, Magneto past/future, Xavier past/future, Beast, Mystique... that's my guess.

As far as Channing not having great range? When has Gambit ever had 'great range'...? I feel like his character became pretty one note and that's why he hasn't played a big role in the books in years and has been bouncing around from one d-book to another. A big part of Gambit's character is is that he's charming and sexy, and Channing is without a doubt both of those. He's also got a sense of humor, and he can MOVE. Have you seen Magic Mike? He's doing back flips and all kinds of stuff in it. I would have to hear his accent, but I would say he's a pretty solid choice for Gambit. If they can write a great action movie, include a few other mutants... And put Channing Tatum on all the posters...? Call it a win for me.

dang these are at Jantzen Beach now? i just went all the way out to Tigard to get them on Sunday! Jantzen Beach would have been much closer. Were there many Winter Soilder sets left?

i used to work in a mall that had a TRU in the same parking lot. i remember when wave 8 was out, i was there every day until i spotted it. people probably thought i was cray.

dang i called 2 of the 3 TRUs here in the Portland area... Clackamas hasn't received any new ones since April... Jantzen Beach said they haven't received any since October, which i suspect was a restock of the wave that in included Phoenix Emma and Colossus... 16, I think? Have tried calling the one out in Tigard. It's unfortunate that there aren't any closer, though if they would stuck them I'd make the trip! If anyone here in Portland sees these, will you PM me, please?

my "Wolverine's X-Forces" display... might switch Deadpool/Wolvie and Warpath/X23 not sure yet.

this was not a set i planned on buying as i've never read the series... but i needed a Punisher and Red Hulk mate, and the Elektra is a basic update that is very similar to the original, but well done. and i really liked the Deadpool, as well, though he ended up in a tub with all my extra mates. Red Hulk went to the Avengers, and Pun and Electra ended up on my 'street level hero' display. but yeah a very beautiful set.
