  1. Yeah, these do seem pretty cool, however I think that most of us would prefer the Marvel "Comic"-line to NOT be interrupted by these "Movie"-waves. I would have preferred them to be special box-sets (like X-Men Classic or FF) apart from the slooooooow moving line. Another small (but rather important)complaint is that we will (once AGAIN) doubtfully even receive a bike for G.R., which makes this series all-the-more pointless!! Thank-goodness for DC and Galactica minis, or MMs would definitely be on the collecting "back-burner"(if not forgotten completely) for me personally.
  2. I think I'll just use every cent I own to get as many modern cases as I can. Speaking of which, what do you guys prefer, Modern or Classic? I know a lot of us are buying both, but which do you like more? Seeing as how I've never even seen the classic series so they have no significance to me, I vote Modern. These are both freak'n awesome! The simply-stated boxes are an elegant frame for these lil' beauties(nice work AA/DST!). As far as a preference? The classic series will always have a special place in my heart and translates much better into MM form IMHO(campy and light-hearted), however, I absolutely LOVE the new series and think that it lends itself better to "army-building" than it's predecessor. You never really saw more than 5-6 Cylons together in the classic series, but in the new one...legions upon LEGIONS. I would have been content with what I received from multiple classic Raider and 2-pack sets, but I HAD to ensure that I get a Gold Commander! I suppose that I could have simply bought a single "Goldie" somewhere, but alas, I'm an idiot...so I bought a case of Classic. I also bought one case of Modern, but I'm kind of wishing now that I had bought two; you simply can't have enough of these Centurians(suppose I can "bulk-up" when the Raider sets hit)! So in a nut-shell: "no preference, but certainly more reason for Modern 'army-builders' than Classic".
  3. ( thank god he finally found an eye patch...I was wondering if there was one in the fleet somewhere... T. Yeah, the little "gauze taped over the eye" was bugging the hell out of me! There was no reason beyond leaving "New Caprica" for him not to have received some medical attention and/or a patch(unless it was meant to be symbolic of his inability to move beyond the events on New Caprica).
  4. I loved last night's episode! Granted, it kind of threw you into this complicated mess abruptly but considering how much they were trying to pack into a 1 hour episode, was handled very well. From immediately establishing that "Bull-dog" was not a "skin-job" to portraying just how cunning the Cylons are to allow a human to escape to basically infiltrate and assassinate the "glue" (Adama)that holds the colonies together...brilliant. I also have grown to like Tigh much more than before because of this episode. Overall, it gave a greater insight into Adama, Tigh, D'Anna's characters, introduced an interesting new character, and raised some new questions as to the events that occured prior to the Cylon invasion. All this, and "oh yeah, Baltar is a P-I-double M-P PIMP!!"
  5. I could do without "chases" all-together. I have a greater appreciation for 8 figures per wave, and I don't really think that the Marvel line has effectively utilized the chases that they have had done; most are unneccessary or (as stated before)should have been released in a separate series. Also, I don't believe there are as many variations of characters in the DC universe as Marvel, and the ones that do, will more than likely get their own release with another character(for example:Batman, Superman, etc.)in later series.
  6. The "Valley of Darkness" is the "bloodied" one. I think that the "Down-loaded" one may be the "battle-damaged"one.
  7. These look fantastic! Besides the long-wait, I have no complaints; nice design, great use of accessories, and nice character variety. I really appreciate that Spectre's hood is a separate piece from the cape(I was worried about this one). Unfortunately, all this just makes me despise the Marvel line all-the-more. I can't wait to hear/see what DCD has planned for this line!
  8. They don't seem to be moving at all at my TRU(unless they are being "refilled"...but I doubt it). I've contemplated picking a few up to stimulate sales, but I honestly can't bring myself to do it since they are the same figures from the DST series(minus Nick Fury,etc.). Perhaps the Christmas season will help move some of these, I do really want the MK pack.
  9. You are correct, these holes are usually used as "connection-ports" for add-on accessory pieces such as monster feet, etc. Speaking of Azrael, I reeeally hope that we get a MM version of this costume soon. As stoked as I am to be getting a "classic" Batgirl, I would have paired Bane with this version of Azrael a bit later in the series (after a few "higher-profile" bat-characters of course).
  10. Hobby Lobby and/Michael's have mini-ornaments, lights, and presents.
  11. It would have to be, Lorne Greene(the original Adama) has been dead for many years now!
  12. An "Unnamed source" has stated that they weren't supposed to be shown as "They arent part of the core lineup". Not sure what you guys make of that but to me that hints at an 'exclusive 2-pack' T. Yeah, kind'a vague. I suppose that it could also simply mean that they are not part of the "first series" line-up, however "core" does seem to imply a distinction between regular series and something else. An exclusive would be cool(if not too difficult or expensive to acquire).
  13. ...only if it isn't immediately followed-up with another wave to "round-out" our roster! I thought the same at first, however now I'm trying to remain optomistic and think that this strategy will help us get our second and third tier characters as well. There's just so many characters (and possible variations)in this series, that any other method wouldn't have worked. The "classic" series, on the other hand, could pretty much be achieved in 1-2 waves (especially if they had gone with 4 sets (X3) per series).
  14. --> QUOTE(Donny B @ Oct 20 2006, 02:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I want to be a fan, but unfortunately my schedule doesnt usually allow me to watch the show. I plan on eventually picking up all of the DVD sets, but that won't be for a while (stinkin bills... and minimates). So all of this talk about how the waves are unbalanced, and how the choices for characters is odd... yeah, I'm totally lost on all of that. But for now, I am definitely planning on picking up all the BSG minis. They look cool, plus Im sure I will want them once I actually get a chance to see the show. That, and the fact that I pick up every minimate I can get, regardless of license... for the most part. Oh, you WILL! Best show on television. It took me a season to warm-up to the changes(being a childhood-fan of the original series), but once I got past all of the "why?" questions and allowed myself to be drawn-in to the intensely well-written storylines...I was hooked. There's simply no comparison! I envy you being able to see these first 2 seasons together and uninterrupted for the first time. Enjoy!!
  15. While it's good to finally hear something "official", I was kind of hoping that they would be releasing 4 (2-packs)per series rather than the normal 3; less over-stock for stores and those who buy cases and more characters in each release. Especially with the long-waits between releases. Hopefully AA/DST is doing something about this and we will begin to see more new releases on regular basis. Also, one small complaint. Why couldn't they have cast the helmets in transluscent plastic(then painted)to allow the faces to show through the visor. They cast previous releases' hair-pieces(Sue Storm, Emma Frost, etc.)in clear plastic when it was totally unneccessary, and yet refrained when it would have made perfect sense. It's little details like this that make a huge difference. I just do not understand their logic.
  16. There does seem to be a ridiculous amount to products slated for "Feb. release". If this is even remotely accurate, I'd venture to say it's more like late Feb./Mar. However, since we've already seen proto.s for Adama and Boomer, I think that series 2 will follow shortly after. I sincerely hope that (this time) AA/DST isn't "biting-off more than they can chew". If their previous "problems" haven't been successfully resolved, and all this doesn't run smoothly, this could be the final nail in their coffin as all the fans are weary of delays and lack of "quality-product". If they do fulfill their promises, there's going to be some broke-a$$ fans(especially at $8.99 per 2-pak). Oh the trials and tribulations of fandom!
  17. And really, it's like they're BOTH army builders(better to have extra Sixs than Baltars)! I wouldn't be too surprised if we still see Six(there's alot of versions that could be done) with Baltar in following waves. I actually think that this is "smart-approach" to character pairings and shows that AA/DST is finally putting some much-needed thought into their licenses. Now if they could only apply this logic to the Marvel line...
  18. And they also failed to mention Roslin/Zareck. I suppose that they're going to slip-in as many "co-stars" as possible to spread this line out more. I think it's safe to assume that we'll probably get variations of all the "main stars" (Apollo, Starbuck, etc.) in each series to balance the others. I really like this approach A)if there are not HUGE lag-times between waves B)we don't get ridiculous amounts of unneccessary variants C)the line-ups don't discourage buyers from supporting the line and pre-maturely killing it.
  19. http://toychest.diamondcomics.com/toys/11_...ca_minimate.htm Not sure if y'all caught this in the previous post, but if looks like the "definitive list" will need some revising. WTF?! Talk about a "curve-ball". By this Nov. solicitation, perhaps we can expect these by Feb./Mar.; unless they decide to make anymore radical changes! No mention of the fig./fighter asst.s. I wonder what the status is on these?
  20. Here's more pic.s from Diamond Previews Toychest preorder list: http://toychest.diamondcomics.com/toys/11_...ca_minimate.htm I'm not sure what the Hell they are thinking with this "first assortment", other than maybe only including one or two main characters to sell the "co-stars" and spread the line out further. This is for the Nov. issue, therefore I would presume these for a "tentative" Feb. or Mar. release...maybe LOL.
  21. Yeah, this sounds really interesting. It also sounds like they've got a good handle on the subject-matter. I can't wait to see how it turns out! It'll also be nice to have something to tide us over until season 4 begins. I'm absolutely loving 3 so-far.
  22. This really needs some clarification; all these line-ups are as confusing as season 1. Even as a second, where the Hell is Col. Tigh , "Chief"Tyrol or Roslin and Zareck(we saw control art)? Not that I don't want any of these, but I would have thought that they'd(Kain, Dee,etc.) appear further down the road. I think that they could just about have Six(AND a variant)in every wave with as many times as she's changed outfits(and been resurected)!LOL
  23. Those look great! But now I'm completely confused. What series is this? Are these additions to the first asst., part of series 2, or is this "new line-up" now the first series?
  24. True and are much later were just offered in previews for the old sets. Yes I agree so not sure what you are saying. I thought we were only speaking for these BSG sets and it was never mentioned to be available to mass. Yeah, my bad. I thought that the previous poster was asking about the BSG line in "general". I see now that he was specifically asking about the "Cylon asst.s". In which, "YES" these ARE specialty-market only. This is what happens when very-little new info. is occurring; we start tripping over old topics!LOL
