Never! Now begins my incredibly annoying campaign for Mk IIs (and perhaps Colonial Raptor).

One of my local TRUs had GB #2 tags up, so hopefully these will be hitting retail in the next few weeks.

Perhaps a limit, but this could impact legitimate collectors that buy multiples (for themselves or friends)too. The bottom-line in business is sales, and I honestly believe that DST, TRU, whomever, could care less who gets these as long as they sell through and achieve positive numbers. While this is interesting news, it doesn't sound any different than ordering directly from Diamond Previews (provided you have access to a comic shop) unless the majority of these are TRU exclusives or unless they are using this system as a means to gauge how many of a certain product that they need to order for each store. It will be interesting to see how this comes together. I'd like to see something similar to Wal-Mart's (though I kind of despise them) program of being able to order on-line and pick-up the items from your nearest store. Of course, this only works if you have a store near you (and a credit/debit card). Besides, some people actually enjoy the "hunt".

Sweet, they're starting to hit! Could you tell who the extras in the case ratio were (for example: Adama/Razor Cylon and Starbuck/Leoben were 3 per case and the others were 2 per in the first Series)? I'm guessing Tigh and Tyrol, but I hope it's Anders as I need quite a few pilot extras.

So are Tory/Anders and Ellen/Simon cancelled from the line? As in, they're not being produced? No, as I posted earlier Ellen/Simon are on their way from my order, but the status of the rest are in question. I believe it's more of a "we've sold-out all that were allocated to our website, the rest are being shipped to physical stores." Unless they get more for the site, I'd say your best bet now is at retail, ebay, or the help of board members. The good news is that these seem to have enough interest to sell-out.

Well that's a relief, thanks for clearing that up. It was pretty unnerving to see a $14.60 total on my confirmation (for one of five sets) and think that each one I would receive would be the same! Still, I'm a bit puzzled as to why I didn't get a "back-order" notice for the others too.

I suppose, they seem to fly everywhere else. All four of my TRUs went through several cases with a quickness (even the occasional lingering Winston set). T2, on the other hand, is clogging two aisles (Marvel and Misc.) in my area with no signs of further sales (I'm currently sweating the arrival of Series 2). It's too bad that TRU doesn't implement clearance sales quicker for over-stock items like Target does. I'd love to be able to clear out their stock and hook-up fellow Miniacs (and myself)!

Ugh, TRU.com are assholes. I received the email about Athena/Cylon being back-ordered which was lame but acceptable, I should be receiving the other four sets together right? Wrong. I just got a confirmation that Ellen/Simon were being shipped, but where are the Hell are the other three sets?!? I just paid $14.60 for one $6.99 set of 'mates that will undoubtedly arrive smashed to oblivion in a 'padded envelope'. I'm not sure who's the bigger idiot, them or me. When this is all said and done, I will have probably spent more than the cost of two sets, which I'll more than likely come across in person at retail in the next few weeks. *sigh*

I think you mean "with Colonial Marines"...or at least Baltar in Marine uniform. Our missing-pilots will be coming in the Deluxe Raptor set. OK, perhaps that was just a dream; the same one that had Series 2 Mini-vehicle Mark II Viper/with "Husker" and Guardian Raider/with "Razor: Gold Commander Pilot"! Very sadly, DST said, in response to my line-up question for a possible Wave 3, that Razor was pretty much done with. If you recall, i asked about a Cain/Fisk Razor set, and they said that any Razor minimates weren't at all the best sellers, so there's little hope for more. Shame; i like the idea of more old-War pilots...without spending boxset prices for one figure. Very true, and yet oddly enough they packaged TRU Series 1 Adama with a Razor Cylon. I just really want a MkII Viper, and since they've already got Apollo, Starbuck, and HotDog being released, it just seems (while unlikely) more viable to go with a Cylon-Wars theme (or Razor if you like) for a Series 2 as they'd need a Cylon ship to compliment it. I'll take one any way I can get one (or 4). And while I'm totally dreaming, I'd like to throw an even more unrealistic idea into the ring for a slightly larger Deluxe Series of 'fliers (able to accommodate 2 or more 'mates) for $29.99. Colonial Raptor (with Racetrack and Skulls or Boomer and Helo). Cylon Heavy Raider (with 2 Cylon models and able to hold 4-6 Cylons).

It does make more sense, however, I had already planned on using my extra "dress uniforms" for Apollo, Starbuck, etc. customs...I'd still like to see it somehow (especially since they already have the mold from the Adama release. I've got an extra for Tigh). I imagine he will have a hair-piece, but if not, I've got plenty of extras from other lines to choose from. So my Anders/Tory set and Ellen/Simon sets are 'located in stock'. My Athena/Cylon set says 'backordered' - anyone else get that ? And the other two sets say 'on hold until release date'. Looks like I might have to find that Athena set in stores. Lousy army builder collectors. I just got one of those emails too. Not a big deal as I plan on getting two sets in store and this was my "just-in-case" set. The only thing that bothers me about this is that I can now expect to pay double for shipping and have them stuffed in padded envelopes.

No worries 'mate, but all lines end in tears (to degrees). I'm content with what we're getting, I just wish more people would revel in this minor-miracle rather than piss-on the parade; it gives an impression that no-one cares or are supporting this (remember, we have DST spies in our midst!). *I must also apologize that I tend to overlook the fact that the majority of our family do not have easy access to the products. Just ask, folks...many are willing to help.

Mine too, all four of them. No sense convincing pessimists...er, "realists". Their prophecies are generally self-fulfilled. I find your enthusiasm refreshing. *And the rest find my optimism annoying...beat someone to the punch-line.

you can find it in the SDCC thread (page 2 or 3) Lose those lame-ass, Gen. 1 'moon-boots', add pilot belt/gun combo, paint it varying degrees of black, tampo accordingly and you've essentially got a passable (if a newly-sculpted vest with pouches strains the budget) Col. Marine. Paint a diagonal red stripe on a Cylon and I smell an army-builder that would thoroughly piss my wife off! *Why do we get imaginary "Stealth" and "Gold" modern Cylons when there was a perfectly plausible (and cost-effective I'd imagine) variant available? Oh, and while on the subject, all Cylon variants (especially if a unique color) should come with both hands and cannons.

Yes, while they technically are both Mk. II's (in name), they are as similar as the original and new shows were. However, in this super-d-style, I could actually accept them both using the same sculpt with different paint app.s (one could be a TRU release and the "classic" could be a repainted Previews exclusive, for example). I'd be more bummed if they went this route without a "classic" Raider in conjunction (though the "Razor" raiders were quite similar as well...especially once they've been minimatized). Perhaps this is why I suggested a "Cylon Wars" theme in my previous post/s. Hmmmm, I had written-off the likelihood of ever getting "classic" ships altogether, but I must admit that these posts have renewed my faith in it's plausibility (interest allowing). Not that this carries much weight, but it does seem odd to me that they'd even bother identifying the Mk. VII/modern Raider as "Series 1" if they hadn't at least entertained the possibility of a Series 2. Hopefully DST/TRU are rebelling..."and they have a plan". *BTW, of four TRUs in my stomping-grounds, all are nearly sold-out of the S1 'mates (with the exception of a straggling Starbuck or Adama pack). Here's hoping the others fare as well. Depending on case ratios, I can promise that no-one will find a Cylon Raider in metro Missouri or Kansas! Someone forgot to take their "happy-pill" today.

What we are getting is not what was shown in '06. Those were prototypes for the C3 flyers (with universal block-base) that was canned and were even smaller (if you can believe that) than what will be released at TRU. The newer ones are completely new sculpts...both of them. I'm too lazy to do the search, but AA's site has the comparison photos of both if you haven't seen them. I hadn't heard that, just that they were interested in expanding mini-vehicles in general...nothing specifically pertaining to BSG. I really want to believe, though!

Absolutely, and not too far away vehicles for our pilots to, well...pilot! Of course this relief has now given way to dreaming-up ideas for yet more BSG 'mates I'd like to see, though it seems doubtful that we will get anything beyond these 2 (+ flyers) waves. I was really hopeful that we'd possibly hear/see something on the future of BSG (especially given that the guard for the lab playset bore some striking similarities to a Colonial Marine), but the subject didn't seem to come-up. Aside from a Colonial Marine/ "red stripe" Cylon army-builder, I have a few more characters I'd like to see that would most certainly kill the franchise as they are really not that interesting in appearance: Billy, Eloysha, Jammer (yellow jumper with the helmet we never got with Tyrol or Cally), etc. (for example). More importantly, I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't go with the more prevalent Viper Mk. II (since they apparently started from scratch after C3 was cancelled). A second Series of vehicles (if possible) would satisfy this if they went with a "Cylon War" theme and released: Col. Mk. II Viper w/ "Husker" update (hated that box set fat-face) "Guardian" Cylon Raider w/ "Razor" Cylon pilot (he could even be gold to command the 2 non-removable pilot heads) Of course, we (or at least I) would be crying that we don't have a Raptor for our vehicle-specific pilots. This would be quite an endeavor though, as it would have to be large enough to accommodate at least 2-3 minimates to work. They weren't necessarily that much longer than a Viper, just wider (which would suit the super-deformed 'mate style pretty well IMO). Perhaps a bottom section with integrated interior sculpts attached to a top section, opening canopy and side-door/s (with "Racetrack" and "Skulls" exclusives!) would be the most (cost) effective way to achieve this for say $30 retail. I'd buy at least two!

I generally pre-order full sets online, so it's not an issue. However, many do not have that option so it would make more sense to place the roster-completing FA Angel as the standard.

I wasn't really interested in this set, but I may grab one for that Norman (head and suit for classic GG, the body for a custom Baron Von Strucker) and Radioactive Man (+ Gamma Hulk legs).

Herc is a bit disappointing; I think it's the chest piece and tampo-tunic that bothers me, but I'm still thrilled to have him. The rest look great. Ghost Rider appears to have a translucent head with the 'skull' printed on it...sweet effect (time to start working on that custom bike)! Black Widow works well for modern purposes, but I may have to scrounge-up a Star Trek "bee-hive-do" to make her more Champion specific (unless they were clever enough to pack-in extras?). Good stuff, I can't wait to get mine.

Wouldn't that be something? Y'know, Guardians of the Galaxy (classic) just sounds like an AFX exclusive box set, doesn't it? *I've always been a big fan of Marvel's cosmic-characters, but I'm even more elated that they're starting to get some exposure again. I just noticed that they're starting to re-broadcast the animated Silver Surfer show along with the other Marvel animated series. I had forgotten how well done it was (hope it finds it's way to DVD). While short-lived, it was IMO the best show Marvel put out. Tonight was Adam Warlock vs. the Kree; made me really impatient for the Infinity Gauntlet set and Series 32's army-builder!

It had better be, otherwise what's the point? The Inhumans are a 'package-deal'.
