  1. This must be what that clue in the last e-spectrum referred to: "What has 14 legs, 7 heads, 10 mechanical arms and is based on last month’s Battlestar Razor?..." 10 Mecahnical arms must refer to the 5 cylon variants: Pilot, commander, gold, freefall and warrior and 7 heads/14 legs refers to the entire collection: 5 cylons + 2 Six variations. Nonetheless - sign me up for at least 1 full set.
  2. My company put me up at the Kimberly Hotel... I don't know much about it, except that it's expensive even by California standards and they staff with people w/ British accents so they sound particularly "elegant". I found the FYE and Collector's universe are both within walking distance (I think)... I have to look up the other recommendations to see if they're reachable on foot.
  3. Howdy all! I'm being sent to NY to go on a business trip next week. My office & hotel are in the Time Square/Rockefeller Center area. I see a listing for Collector's Universe on the comic book shop locator for that zip. Has anyone here had any experiece shopping there? I also know there's an FYE near Time Square... anyone ever been there? Thanks in advance
  4. Yeah.... the Tholian Web space suits would be pretty cool.... though I'd be inclined to call that version "TV Dinner Kirk"
  5. What I'm finding a real bummer is that a lot of the comic shops around me are not getting BTTF (or BSG, Rocky, 24 or ST, for that matter) because they are not "comic book" licenses. Lots of DC and Marvel, but none of the other DST licenses. I'd like DST to be able to find a reliable conduit like Suncoast/FYE or TRU or someone who is interested in all of their lines, and not just the superheroes. As it is, Suncoast carries a few, but it's far from the nice assortment of mates that we've seen lately. I've had to resort to internet orders for most, but I really hate to get hammered with the xtra shipping - especially when that money could be spent on more mates.
  6. It wouldn't be the first time I've doubled on on purchases to make some body-head switch quick customs... I think I actually bought triples of the boomer/cylon set so I could use the Boomer head to make a uniform and a casual Boomer along with the Flightsuit version that came in series 2. Congrats to DST Matt for that proposal (and a little blatant marketing) to keep those sales up.
  7. How about Hannibal in the White T-Shirt, with nightstick and bloodied face and the security guard who loses his face Gruesome..sure, but i bet we'd all buy it. I know i would anyway Though I agree it would be a neat set, I just couldn't get excited about another Lecter figure. As it is, 2 of the figures in the 4 pack are Hannibal variants. In my opinion, I like a little more variation.... that's one of my gripes about Star Trek & BTTF.... too many Kirks and Martys considering the wealth of other characters
  8. One of the local LCS got these and the BTTF 2 set today. I got to look at them, but they were a special order. It sucks, but to place special orders, you have to have a minimum subscription of 15 comic titles at this place.
  9. Perhaps this thread should have been called: "Is that a minimate in your pocket, or are you just excited to see me?"
  10. As for classic BSG, Tigh and Athena would be a good set, as would a 2-pack with Cassiopea and one of those lizard-bug creatures (Ovions???) from the motion picture - think Gorn w/ a couple of extra arms but same fashion sense. I know a 4-armed minimate would probably go over well for the customizers I can't think of any other characters from Silence of the lambs, except maybe Agent Crawford & Dr. Chilton from the Prison. There's also Barney (the orderly) or the State trooper Pembry who are particularly memorable. BTTF 3 - Can't forget Clara and maybe one of the McFlys or Marshal Strickland.
  11. I'd say it's time for an intervention... but in reality, I'm far more concerned about the guy who got his panties in a twist 'cause minimate gals don't have panties. Now that's sick.
  12. These seem a little boring compared to the BTTF series 1 and Enchantment 2-pk mates, but I'm sure I'll get them jst to complete the series.
  13. Scifigenre.com has the Season 2 set on sale - I picked them up w/ domestic shipping for less than $16.
  14. I got: A new wallet BSG - Razor on DVD BTTF Trilogy set on DVD The SImpsons Movie on DVD A whole lot of $$ A Simpsons T-Shirt Star Trek: Ships of the Line Calendar And some stocking stuff
  15. I just ordered a 24 Series 2 set from Scifigenre.com. Prices and selection on mates are pretty good and domestic shipping is reasonable. Total cost w/ shipping was less than $16. I can't get that set anywhere else (even from DST w/ the Holiday15 code) for less than $19. Lots of other action figures on sale too Check 'em out
  16. I was out wrapping up my x-mas shopping of the kids this weekend and happened across the new Indiana Jones Lego sets. They had four sets including: A motorcycle w/ sidecar chase fronm Last Crusade that included the Doctors Jones (Indy & Henry Sr.), a checkpoint gate and a badguy on a motorcycle A truck chase from Raiders of the Lost Ark that included the military truck and staff car The "Run for your Life there's a big rolling stone ball chasing me" scene from Raiders, which includes (as luck would have it) a big rolling rock ball and the sea plane to fly away in. The Temple of the Lost Souls set w/ the Ark of the Covenant, Miriam Minifig and plenty of snakes. These started at about $10 for the motorcycle chase... the biggest ones were probably in the $50 range Some of the pieces, like altars and statues woul provide good inspiration for some Indy-inspired lego dioramas for minimates. Check 'em out.
  17. The BTTF Minimates got me thinking that I have a huge gap in my DVD collection now. I've been lobbying for the BTTF trilogy on DVD for X-mas this year as well as more minimates....
  18. I think Mezco has the license now... they made some 9" figures this fall.... though all the likenesses, except Sloth, where a little off.
  19. Ya know.... maybe this is part of a "Big Pimpin' in Space" wave. "... Space... the pimpin' frontier. These are the voyages of the pimp-ship Enterprise. Her 5 year mission to explore strange new worlds, seek out some hot alien tail and knock boots with strange, multi-breasted females, that have never had their boots knocked before..." You get the idea. You got Rand (who would be complemented by her pseudo love interst Kirk) Then Chapel who wouldn't be complete without her vulcan love-buddy Add to the wave Triskellion Kirk with the gal in the silver bikini and to finish the wave, 40's Kirk & Edith Keeler The variant could be Spock with his vulcan wife, what's-her-bucket.
  20. Any news on the release of the Iron Man & Black Panther Zombie 2-pack? It should hit any time.
  21. That's definitely something to look forward to. I wonder how those will show up
  22. Don't you BTTF guys have a time machine or something to fix stuff like this? Thanks for the update -
  23. I like the colonials more than the cylons.... Adama, Apollo & crew are spot-on adn the daggit is a must have. As for the cylons, I'll probably pass - I've got some classic cylons, and though Baltar is well done, I've never really been into the Lucifer and Imperious Leader Character - perhaps it's becasue their TV & Movie likenesses were so cheesy.
  24. Even with future Biff, which is definitely cool, I'm not sold on this one like I am the box sets and the enchantment 2-pk. I'm a little lukewarm on the George & Marty 2-pack as well, but Doc has always been a favorite.
  25. Good luck on the Wii.... I got lucky and landed one for my kids X-mas about 5 weeks ago, but I hear you got to hit the toys r us at 3:00AM to get in line for one of the 25 or 30 they're getting these days. I hoping for DVD's of BSG: Razor and the BTTF Trilogy I'd also like the Neca POTC figures of Teague Sparrow and Tia Dalma to finish my collection A new wallet (as it works out, I don't need a very big one, since cash doen't stay around that long) 24 Season 2 mates - which is a long shot since no one around here sells minimates I've got a b-day a week later, so my x-mas list is kinda dual-purpose.
