  1. I think so. I love seeing what's out there. EDIT - Tom Bombadil is an LOTR character, so you know
  2. The revised one works better, but I still have to scroll. Of course my computer is set to 800x600 because my dad can't see anything else, so you may have to get another opinion.
  3. The new one is much easier to read, IMO. I think it works a LOT better.
  4. Dockingbay (can I call you Nick? ), while I love the reviews, you may wanna change the format just a bit. It can be hard to follow the text with it across the screen like that, and the image in the background is a bit distracting IMO. I really love the idea of a review site though, and hope you have sucess!
  5. I really really liked what they did with Starscream. The bits with the reused animation over and over again was a bit confusing at first, though. Hey guys, that hasn't aired here (to my knowledge), so please use spoiler tags.
  6. I guess so (I'm admittedly not very familiar with the "class" distinctions of current Transformers toys), but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are Big Lots/Dollar Store quality, and look like something from a Happy Meal. Like I said, I might still buy them b/c they are nods to a couple of my fave original toys, but they are still crappy-looking They're doing a Universe deluxe Hound, so I'd wait for that.
  7. Y'know, these: http://seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?...1ℑ=110 http://seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?...1ℑ=114 http://seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?...1ℑ=101 http://seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?...1ℑ=106 The crappy little 4 dollar ones that will probably pop up in dollar stores. They actually look like Happy Meal toys. You know the whole point of the legends toys is that they're cheap, right?
  8. Some interesting stuff there. I'll only comment on the "Universe" stuff, since I don't like any of the Animated designs or toys. First off, I was glad to see a re-issue Optimus, as I need a nice version for my collection since I've gotten back into these figures a couple of years ago. . .but 70 bucks for that, what seems to be a light-up Autobot symbol, a DVD mini-series, and a comic book?! No. The 25th Joes are releasing 4 figures and a similar-length DVD for 20 bucks. I know that Optimus costs more to manufacture than a couple of Joes, but not that much more. It seems that they are exploiting the willingness of Transfans to spend lots of money. Whoever this guy is: http://seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?...=1ℑ=49 I'm buying him. I love that figure mold. And I like that the cheap-o, KO quality figures are giving nods to the original G1 figs. . .I might actually buy a couple of those. Regarding the classics, Silverbolt seems like a strange choice, but looks good, I think Sideswipe's face sucks, Silverstreak looks freaky, and the Ironhide. . .well, at least they finally tried to do a G1-toon accurate version, though he isn't very good. A mixed bag, but overall, I'm not very impressed with the new stuff. I still think Powerglide, despite the lame re-coloring, is the main thing worth looking forward to when the Classics 2.0 line rolls around, but I'll pick up Prowl, Sunstreaker, and some others for nostalgia's sake. What "KO-quality" figures are you referring to?
  9. All this BotCon stuff is AMAZING!!! Check out new Universe stuff here, and new Animated stuff here!
  10. Erm nope that should read as Stupidest idea ever! Dr Who is quintessentially British... it won't work as a anime/manga toon it would miss all it's charm and quirkyness that makes it what it is. I really don't get the current trend that EVERYTHING needs to be done in an anime style... T. It's a crossover, not just anime Dr. Who. Also, come on TBT, you've got to have been on the net long enough to have seen far stupider things.
  11. Anyone else get the idea that this is supposed to be the next "Marvel Zombies", except more "friendly"?
  12. He lives in Cincinnati. Hasbro is using Cinci as an early test market for Animated since BotCon is there this year. I knew they were using Cincinnati. I hoped they were showing up elsewhere! I'm buying Bulkhead, Prowl, Starscream, Lockdown, and Bumblebee when I get the chance.
  13. Meh, they don't look enough like "Joes" to me. I love Snake Eyes though.
  14. who's the figure below symbiotic spidey in the black and grey? It's the Punisher's post Civil War Capain America costume. Like I said, they seem to get everyone.
  15. Okay, this looks too fun to turn down: Series 24: Young Avengers Patriot & Stature Wiccan & Iron Lad Hulkling & Hawkeye VARIANT: Patriot (original costume) & Stature Series 25: More Avengers Beast (Jim Lee) & Yellowjacket Kang & Black Panther Falcon & Black Knight VARIANT: Kang & Black Panther (Modern) Series 26: X-Men Sunfire & Forge Banshee & Sabretooth Gambit & Mr. Sinister VARIANT: Sunfire (AoA) & Forge Series 27: Cosmic Heroes Captain Mar-Vell & Annihilus Genis-Vell & Ronan the Accuser Uatu & Adam Warlock VARIANT: Genis-Vell (Insane) & Ronan the Accuser Series 28: House of M Spider-Man & Inhuman Torch Dr. Doom & Hulk Iron Man & Invincible Woman VARIANT: Dr. Doom (Human) & Hulk Series 29: The Deadpool Wave! 16. And just then, Andrew realized there'd be no Watchmen minimates. DAMN IT!
  17. I think that is the problem with major retailers. Minimates were, at one point or another, sold at Target, Wal Mart, and TRU. The fact that they aren't anymore (even if TRU seems to be expressing renewed interest), and have been clearanced out everywhere suggests that they didn't ultimately sell that well at those retailers, and this doesn't surprise me. These do seem like niche collectibles to me. The SuperHero Squad works at major retailers b/c they are great for little kids--they are cheap and durable (or they look like they are). Minimates, frankly, would be pretty easy to break, and pieces would be easily lost if little kids were playing with them like kids do. Thus, moms might not buy a 2nd pack of Minimates for their 3 year old, whereas they might be more SuperHero Squad figs. Also, the Minimates have a certain charm that the average toy fan nowadays--the ones who think that more detail = better toys, and who want Marvel Legends or 25th GI Joe articulation on anything that they buy--may not appreciate. I personally don't have a problem with Mates being sold exclusively online, at comic shops, and at Suncoast-type stores. If this weren't the case, DST might be forced to further pander to the broad crowd--this might mean no more obscure characters and more bland-ness generally, which would be a shame IMO. If they can make enough money to keep things going as is, that is enough for me. I'm going to have to disagree on the bland part. SHS is getting Red Skull, Deadpool, and has had TONS of other characters that kids have never heard of. It's real simple. If they look cool, kids want it. If they don't, pack them with someone who does.
  18. 1. We heard you guys have pursued getting the Halo license. When Medicom's license expires, do you think it'll be something you actively pursue? 2. What prompted the idea of Desperately Seeking Susan minimates? 3. Which Spider-Man mate is your favorite of all the ones out there?
  19. I think Ant-Man and Giant-Man are actually the same figure with an interchangeable helmet and chest piece. That may very well yet be a box set, though you do need Thor and Captain America (both available)
  20. Oh hell, enter me for the Civil War set. I'm a sucker for the odds.
  21. Damn, that's two back! Where are you Totalus? I'm not going, but REMEMBER YOUR CAMERAS PEOPLE!
  22. until
    New York Comic Con!
