  1. WELL worth the time, that series. I finished the series recently, looking forward to the movie. Also recently read The Hunger Games and it's sequel, Catching Fire. Two more good books with an interesting concept.
  2. Another thing to cosider is the corresponding TRU wave. Seems like TRU always has the figures before the regular release. If Thor/Loki is hitting comic shops by moth end, I'd expect to see it on TRU shelves be next week.
  3. They're gay ? No surprise, really. Aren't ghosts always coming out of the closet? Or the attic? Or the sacred burial ground?
  4. As much as I'd love to see the royal family get the royal treatment (a box set and a 2-pack), I think it more likely they would be packed in with the Fantastic Four: MrF/Medusa Sue/Karnak Thing/Gorgon Johhny/Triton and the TRU 1-per 50 cases Crystal/Lockjaw As for the FF villians, well, they did a 4-pack of villains before that included Doom, so how about another villain box set: Wizard, Psycho-Man, Mole-Man and (I'm gonna say it) Kang. And then, ANOTHER FF Viains Box Set with Terrax, Thundra, Puppet Master, and Impossible Man And then, once DST has figured out the bat-wings pieces, use them on Annihilus and Dragon Man. Wait... what was the question?
  5. With all the back and forth over availability, I neglected to say... thanks, Chuck, for letting us know what happened. Compared to the amazing work the company and factory have done recently, this is just a small hiccup.
  6. Go back & read my post....... did I mention AFX with regards to hacking ?? No. I based my observation that AFX haven't got any Wave 31 by the fact that Wave 31 doesn't appear on their site yeah, I know you're post did not include AFX... sorry if my post implied that I misread yours. AFX isn't even selling cases of 31 on ebay anymore, so I figured they were out... I was just seeing if AFX worked the same way as the others.
  7. Well, just for fun, I went to AFX and added 200 sets of series 32 to my cart... no problem at all! Then I changed my order to 400, then 600, then 800... no problem at all! At least there are plenty of Giant Man variants available!
  8. Thanks for the education, BHM! A mind is a terrible thing... to... something. I wonder if these numbers update in real time as orders are placed? I'd check myself, but I didn't know the trick before placing my order an hour ago.
  9. can ye learn some of us sumptin' new? How do you know about the "very, very few"? I see on BBTS "only substandard available"... I gues that inficates they don't have a lot left? Now, on a semi-related note, now that X-Factor Angel has been on the endangered species list for a while (since series 5 started hitting stores), and now SA Angel is offically joining him, I wonder how long before AFX runs the promotion "Buy a Hostile Takeover set, get an X-Men pack for free"?
  10. Indeed they are. Wish I had ordered extra sets of series 28 when I had the chance. Would have liked to have had more Skrulls, and having the extra Deadpools for trade would have come in handy as well.
  11. I expect the ones MOST affected were the dealers being told that one set would be the variant, and then having a different set "short packed", thus being the variant in fact versus the variant in name. Have any of the collectors NOT been able to get a SA Angel through one online dealer or another?
  12. I disagree for Reed and Sue. True, Thing and Torch are fine, but Reed and Sue have a Kirby-esque quality to them. I'd like see new versions, and new hair for both. The black and white costumes would be fine, especially since they could do She-Hulk as well.
  13. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/387103 Is that it? No, but thanks for the link.
  14. I think this was part of the reason I stopped buying comics about 5 years ago... after a couple of decades of reading, I saw the same patterns again and again. There used to be a saying "Nobody stays dead but Bucky", now that isn't even true. I saw a cartoon years ago, a salesman calling on the X-Mansion asking for Jean Grey. The character responded something like "Sorry, she's dead. Come back next week."
  15. I know BigBad has come through for people here already on this wave (myself included) but has anyone received their order from cornerstore yet?
  16. Yes, I would, in the case of the Soldier Wolverine/Hydra... can always use an extra soldier, but don't need any more X-Force Wolverines.
  17. "The whole thing is a goddamn meat parade. I don't want any part of it" My opinion of the Oscars in general but who am I quoting? Clue given Patton, wasn't it?
  18. huh. looks like an Atlantean to me. maybe I'm just seein' things.
  19. how about... you're willing to buy another X-force Wolverine just so you can a Hydra "army", instead of just a duet.
  20. Definitely agree on the troop builder. Guardsman was okay, but 2 Guardsmen from the set would have been plenty for me. I would have much preferred a Hydra, Skrull, or Kree (in that order). They could have removed the "outer" Hydra costume to save money, and I still would have been fine with that. You want more Hydra now, though? Well, with THIS Hydra soldier you get... Wolverine. Oh, and with THIS Hydra soldier you get... another Wolverine! yaaaaayy...
  21. Okay, I haven't done this yet, myself. But, there's part of me that's wondering how much I spent this year among the multiple waves, licenses, exclusives... anybody know where I can find a comprehensive release list for 2009? I think after 2008, I was close to stopping. X-3 mates were meh, Ghost Rider mates were cancelled, DC cancelled. Hulk and Iron Man waves were picked up much later, after I got back into them (I remember seeing the TRU Stealth/Gauntlet pack time and again and thinking "pegwarmer"). 2010 will hopefully be as good as 2009, but with T2 winding down, Ghostbusters getting a last gasp, and the movie sets being dangled in front of us and then pulled, I guess it's all on Marvel. Can't wait to see how they'll top this year.
  22. When I saw the Delorean, my first thought was that it looked like a Suzuki Samurai. Still, I'll get all of these. Since minimates are played with by kids in my house, the more vehicles the better.
  23. That's an excellent pic for comparison... you can obviously see the difference between the gold in IM and the yellow on Yellowjacket (and Giant Man).
  24. I got these last night, and overall I'm pretty happy with them. The only exception is Captain Marvel... I don't like the length of his hair, not going all the way to his shoulders. I looks much better in the promo shot on the back. On the Titanium Man height, I may try this and see how it looks... take the waist extender from Ultimate Hulk, and put it on TM above the crotch piece and below the skirt.
  25. I was thinking, for Banshee, the cape on the Secret Wars Captain Marvel would work well. Just paint it yellow and black stripes. Yeah, I know Banshee's was attached under the arms and to his sides, but so was Monica's, and no one seems to have a problem with the way she turned out in minimate form.
