Interesting. They've never had a retired person on their box before, have they? Are they focusing on a "Legends" mode now, where former greats will actually have their names and likenesses, instead of just numbers (sometimes) and attributes? Maybe this is the result of too many stars wanting to avoid the "Madden curse." Why do they still make Madden games? It's the same every year. Geez, maybe they should just stop making them and put he taalent into making more original games. IIRC, no, there hasn't ever been anyone who's officially retired on the cover before. Cut/no longer playing - Michael Vick & Shaun Alexander, I'm looking at you - but no one who's been retired. As to why they're still making them, each year they add or tweak something. One year is heavy on the RB focus. The next was the QB Vision system, etc. I'm pretty satisfied with my '07 Hall of Fame edition.

Mario cart is one of the Wii games I'm most looking forward to! It is in my top 5 all time for the DS - I can't wait to see how fun it is on the Wii. GTA really never appealed to me. (Yeah, I'm one of only a handfull of people who never got into the franchise.)

Exactly. They're the same group who claimed they were brining IRobot mates to life. If you've been here any length of time, you know how well that turned out. Maybe Popbox is the ShockerToys of Asia? Knock off minimate design, claim they're making all sorts of great figures based on licenses they have no conceivable reason to be able to get their hands on, never come out with said product. (The proto above even has Shockini hands.) Yep. Popbox = Shocker.

Yeah, that IM is sweet! I really liked the tongue on Venom, and if I'm going to buy Venom, I have to get Spidey. If I'm buying all the other three in the 1st wave, I pry should buy Wolverine to round it out.... Then there's series 2. Cap, Thing, Hulk and Dr Doom. Must resist....(resistance is futile)....must resist....

WOW! I just looked at Zoot figs on Ebay out of curiousity. A loose yellow shirt currently going for $61. Buy it nows are $200+! I enjoyed the Muppets line, but didn't get into it due to space/display constraints. Is Zoot fairly rare and unique in this price range or are there other, similarly priced Muppets floating aroung out there? (I still kick myself for not buying Super Grover at the Con when I could've...) Aside from 'mates, I collect Jumbo Machinders (aka Shogun Warriors here in the US). I have all the common ones and am at a point where if I want to continue to expand my collection, the only way to go is to start buying the rarer Japan only characters - lots of those go for $500 minimum and can go upwards of $2000+ for some figs.

While I agree Captain Apemerica would suck as a 'mate, I'd totally buy a boxed set of the Red Ghost and his Super Apes.

IMO buying bulk lots on Ebay is your best bet if you're looking to set something like this up but aren't too picky on brick color. The other option I'd suggest is Bricklink if you're looking for something specific.

This is true. When I get boxes and open them, I have to show her. She pretends to be interested in most of what I get. She's actually kind of proud to show off my collection. I was going to take them down for our Superbowl party. (All her friends and coworkers were coming over.) She told me to leave them up and actually made my kids put the ones back that I'd already taken down. She understands me. You should see her Sorcerer Mickey collection....

Makes sense. Retail orders have already been placed for the last wave. They don't need to drum up support for future waves from fans to place future orders, so why bring them to display? I'm sure display space is at a premium - why waste it on a dead/'resting' line?

Yes, it is a playset. Since the SHS are similar in size to MM, their playsets work surprisingly well.

Chuck is in trouble if anyone sees SHS is getting Deadpool, Black Bolt and Red Skull (they've already gotten Gambit) before we do in the minimate line....

I like the fact that they're being made also. However, I'm not a fan of the 'mitten hands' they've been putting on the figures lately. It started with the X3 line (Storm's hands are horrible IMO) and we're seeing them used again here.

Ooh! Skrulls of all the Marvel-verse! Dip 'em in cold water and the Skrull will be revealed! Do you have access to that (paint?) technology Chuck? Are all the Marvel mates we've gotten to date, really Skrulls? If not, which ones are? How does one identify a Skrull agent minimate vs the real thing? Is Spidey a Skrull? Is that why we've gotten so many of him? Thanks Chuck.

I'm pretty sure I have a couple around here I can send your way. Gwarff sent them to me long ago when he first started trying to schlep his wares from forum to forum. If I find them (which means, if I haven't melted them to a puddle yet) they'll be on their way to your house....
