karamazov80
I just wanted to note an observation. As of a few minutes ago, I saw this on the board statistics: 2049 user(s) active in the past 60 minutes 2033 guests, 16 members, 0 anonymous members Most users ever online was 10,428 on May 25 2008, 02:38 AM Almost 67,000 posts altogether on this site, and there are just over 1,000 registered members. I typically don't pay any attention to this at all, but this was kind of startling to me. Over 2,000 non-members or non-logged in members were watching this forum in the last hour (and over 10,000 were watching at a give time a few days ago)? Does that sound right? It doesn't really matter to me much, but this is surprising to me if true (and a bit disturbing to think that that many people may be reading my typically silly, insubstantial blathering). Could it be some kind of error? Edited June 1, 2008 by karamazov80

Could it be some kind of error? It is a terrible error that people may be reading your typically silly, insubstantial blathering, unlike those people who are fortunate enough to enjoy my fascinating contributions . karamazov80
It is a terrible error that people may be reading your typically silly, insubstantial blathering, unlike those people who are fortunate enough to enjoy my fascinating contributions . How many other boards have a resident "master of one-liners" on hand? I bet that accounts for the heavy traffic. Thanks for the input, BHM
TBT!
Yeah those numbers are always pretty high. I suspect one reason is that we get a lot of search engine/spiders looking at the site, if you looked at the individual visits you'd see a lot of repeating IP's. Having said that I'm sure we do have a lot of lurkers, either those who are too shy to join or have reasons to read anonymously... If you're a lurker and you are reading this sign up, you know you want to and I promise we wont let Butheadsmate anywhere near you until you're settled. T. Shanester
We have a varied list of lurkers. Many of the IPs come back as registered to known manufacturers, e-tailers, and a handful of bots/spiders. There are many lurkers and that is part of the reason for the recent forum expansions.
