  1. Wait what... Does this mean that DST are going to be gutter trash and once again deny me a minimate of the greatest gentleman to grace a fighting game tournament (I am of course referring to Dudley). We get fracking KANG and probably Barlog/Boxer and not Dudley?! DST; Did he say no Dudley? Granted, I just looked at the roster, and would be hard-pressed to find many characters that fall below the Dudley Diagonal. There are 25 characters in each universe, and we're PROBABLY only making 18, so...
  2. I've been using the Marvel Select Danger Room backgrounds for anything and everything that needs a vaguely technological background. (i.e. the entire Halo photo shoot.) It's three interlocking walls, and could actually make a nice diorama piece for a whole box set of Minimates. Cyclops and Gambit come with them, and Storm and Nightcrawler will, too. Nightcrawler also comes with a small bamf base that would be nice and big for a Minimate. And Colossus comes with this, which I need to try out on a Minimate:
  3. I was only told Mid-May. Give it a week or two.
  4. You? Or me? Me. Should have played dumb. "What dump?"
  5. Thank you! I love Sam Rockwell, so this was a must-have for me.
  6. There have not, at least not with me. We've been talking about army-builders lately, but not in that context. I should bring it up soon.
  7. Our boys in uniform call it "Grandpa Gazpacho." Justin Hammer courtesy youbastards (thanks, YB!), Hunter/Killer courtesy TRU markdown. Got a Colonial Viper, too.
  8. Hahahahaha, no. The development was not done. Killed in concept stage. Not sure art exists. We may not even have gotten reference. It would take months just to get them made. Sorry, shouldn't have been so specific. Buy a lot of Maria Hill/Army sets and Wave 43 SHIELD agents. We discussed Bruce Banner recipes earlier in the thread, and the Big Bad has already been made in Minimate form, if I understand correctly.
  9. No Loki's Army, it was a SHIELD assortment. Anyone seen the movie yet? Do you remember a bunch of different SHIELD Agent looks? Haven't seen it yet (Saturday!), curious to see what we would have made, whether the looks are terribly distinctive. If we're looking at international TRU's maybe you could look into why TRU Canada carries almost nothing when it comes to Minimates. The only things I've seen at TRU in the last few years are the Heralds boxset and Spider-Man Friends and Foes... ...What? That's just your TRU, right? Since I've been here, I've seen numerous reports for upcoming TRU shipments to Canada, and I thought people were buying them. Minijeff? Anyone? Correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. Thanks for the shots, moc! I need to post a pic of MY new purchase...
  11. Yes, poor Alpha Flight. And I forgot they ran that Galactus art in a Wizard poster book! And that Uriel drew it! Hmmmmm....
  12. Not sure why they haven't been picked up by UK TRUs, but if they were, we would have to have additional testing done, yes. It may be a matter of quantities. How many are there? And we had to send Hawkeye and Widow to TRU because of the Loki's Army embargo. We needed to control that release. And as much as collectors don't need more of the Big Four, they are the obvious heavies at mass.
  13. Glad those who bought this series (well, Ant Man and Sentry, anyway) are digging them. Series 45 should be everywhere next week.
  14. Huh. I could see that working with specialty, but TRU? Maybe it's just recently that they've started to hold stuff back, but I would think TRU would be the least predictable. It might be entirely my fault. I've thrown off the rhythm of our art director, Steve, who used to post those shots. I'll try to bug him for shots more regularly and post them earlier. I still haven't posted Avengers packaging, and I actually have Expendables and ASM packaged samples in hand. It gets a little overwhelming.
  15. I hope you get one some day, Tavino. And yes, YB, that was it. Tenime, how big is your poster? Is it printed by you or someone else?
  16. I think it's supposed to be a crimson gem of Cyttorak, although where we found a red, gem-shaped object and why we used it is beyond me, since it's not recognizable as much of anything. Sometimes you look back at photo shoots you did and think, "...Huh. That's weird." Pat McCallum would ream me out if a picture didn't make sense or was hard to understand. He taught me everything I know about photography, although working alongside professional photographers for several years helped a lot. Glad I didn't throw away money on an art degree! Oh, wait... Am I the only guy who would draw belts on all of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit models?
  17. There will be a Merk in Series 1, but we just revised the sculpt. (x10000 better). Not sure what will be TRU and what will be comic stores, but we'll know by July.
  18. Welcome to the boards, straycat! These pics make me wish C3 was still around. I though the Lego stuff would be too small, and was eying a Hasbro battle tank, but these look great.
  19. Great collection, ABC123. I'm a huge IM fan, and I'm slowly trying to build an IM movie collection. Just got a Justin Hammer from a helpful Verser. Pepper Potts is in the mail.
  20. I wouldn't let whether or not there are packaged pics dictate timelines for you. I had packaged samples of TRU 13 at Toy Fair. Lurch 77 won one in a contest. I haven't requested photos of them, but they probably exist. That said, I have no idea when they will be released. Probably after some Avengers toys are gone, yes.
  21. Yes, absolutely. I think Doctor Doom is standing on my personal copy of the Atari game "Warlords." And I should point out that Lurch77 already had this in his official timeline thread, but I had no idea, since I'd mentioned it in the photo thread and people had expressed interest. Also, I did a search for "ToyFare guide" and nothing showed up.
  22. Chuck says at every opportunity that they NEVER thought it would get this far. I hope to discuss our plans for Wave 50 very soon. Yes, a shame.
  23. In case nobody's ever seen this, this is the photo guide I shot in early 2004 for ToyFare #80. It covers the first few waves, then the last few pages do some mix-and-matching, and run down some odds. Kinda fun. I supervised the shoot, if I didn't shoot it myself, and the inimitable Jesse DeStasio wrote it.
  24. Wait, is there a TF visual price guide posted on this forum somewhere? I JUST scanned in the whole thing, because I couldn't find it.
  25. That's awesome. Thanks for the Keyes compliment, I shot that pic and the SHIELD one at two in the morning, because I remembered I wanted to do the Kindle thing at night. I thought they had the license to the next game......? No, Series 5 will be the last.
