  1. That is all kinds of fantastic. Kudos to you sir. KUDOS!
  2. I think it's just there for definition. As far as I know ol Julie Carpenter has never had fangs, been venomous, or had any other crazy mutation. She's just a simple Colorado girl with psychic webs and a sweet black spider costume.
  3. In the cold light of morning, I want to say I was not trying to come across as a know-it-all (well no more than normal) or busting anyones' chops. But I felt that we were starting to overlap and confusing ourselves and broke out the issue numbers and such just for clarities sake. I thought it was great. I'm a big proponent of geek checks, the more you know, you know.
  4. Yes, Emma had her part in him going from covered in ice to all ice. Iceman was injured in some major battle, had a chunk of his chest torn out, and he was afraid to turn human, thinking the chunk would be missing from his human self. Later, Emma did commandeer his mind, did all kinds of icey-cool tricks, and (I think) told Iceman that he was much more powerful than he ever allowed himself to be. Actually you have that backwards. Not to get all detail nerdy on you, but: In Uncanny #314 (ish), Emma Frost, who was in a coma, commandeers Iceman's body and does a bunch of tricks that Bobby never thought of: Flying, becoming mist, adjusting his outer appearance (I believe), ect. Then, a few years later in X-Men #50, Bobby woke up after being abducted in the middle of the night by Post only to find that he was missing a big chunk of his chest. A few months later he tracked down Emma to help him change back into a person because she was able to do more with his powers than he ever could. And after you're typical Emma Frost Tough Love session, Bobby was able to transform to a human all by his lonesome. Then years later Chuck Austen came along and made Iceman pure ice and at one point had him reconstitute himself after Havok peed on him. Good times!
  5. I finally found a Bullseye/Moonstone pack!! The TRU in Los Angeles on La Cienega had just put out the pack, what a day to get off early! DOUBLE WHAMMY!! I'm really excited, sorry if it seems as I'm rubbing it in, I'm just so happy to finally find the guys. I'll be really honest, as much as I hate the hunt because it's SOOOOOO frustrating, I do kinda like the feeling when I finally find what I'm looking for. Good luck to the rest of you!
  6. I think this would make a great boxed set: Bill Ted Rufus time travel telephone booth Or toss in Death/Abraham Lincoln/Denomolos (depending on the movie) and have a cardboard papercraft phonebooth slipped behind the characters or as part of the package itself! Man, I would kill for those mates.
  7. Show-off. Looks great though Luke, kinda makes me want to go out and buy more. Also, Thanks for the compliment Nessex, it took me some amazing Zen patience to nail that one handed position, I'm really glad it paid off.
  8. Because really, what's the point of building an army if you can't show it off? Here's a little action scene I tossed together with my three grunts trying to subdue the new Captain America (and failing) and, separately, Iron Man (and succeeding) I can't wait to see your armies in action!
  9. Finally these have hit my Los Angeles stores (Burbank, to be exact)! Unfortunately I got there just late enough to miss the Moonstone pack that I wanted, but I still nabbed an AIM/Cap set to complete my army of AIM soliders.
  10. Just a heads up, I found an entire shipment of these at my local TRU (Los Feliz, CA) and they all look fantastic. Now if I could just find that box set...
  11. I found these yesterday at both stores I check. Really nice looking figures in person. Looks like BSG has returned to Los Angeles
  12. Nice finds guys... Um... where abouts are you guys again? Are you in California? Should I make a scramble to the store today after work?
  13. Quoted for truth. Very good point sir. Of course, my tune might change once they actually start showing up in my neck of the woods and I have issues finding the pack in question.
  14. Sorry, it's almost reflex at this point for me to write LA instead of Los Angeles.
  15. Still nothing in LA even with sightings popping up all over the west. I'm headed up to santa Barbara tomorrow, maybe I'll try to stop at one on the way and see if I have better luck. Assuming, of course, that there is one up there...
  16. WOO! I finally got my confirmation from BBTS, I ought to have these bad boys in my hot little hands in no time. Now if I could just find that TRU wave...
  17. I do and I haven't had any luck either. Last night I checked the La Cienega and Los feliz stores to no avail. The La Cienega store didn't even have any Marvel 'Mates at all. I'm going to check again on friday.
  18. I checked two stores in the LA area (the Burbank and the La Cienga stores) and neither had them. BUT both were restocking assorted items while I was there around noon. I think I'll check a third store tomorrow and see if they put them out. I can't wait to finally get my hands on an AIM solider... Stupid BBTS.
  19. I'm in a similar boat, so I emailed them and asked them for a timetable. Their prompt response was that they'll send out the minimates as soon as they get them (or more of them) but they don't have an estimated arrival time other than June 2009. So I'm going to give them until the end of the month and then reconsider cancelling and going elsewhere. I suggest you think about doing the same, because really, while it sucks to hear the stories of everyone getting their figures, they'll still be available on Ebay in a month AND you might just get them from BBTS for waaay cheaper if you wait. Let's hope at least.
  20. I'm still waiting on my order from BBTS too. Quick question for all of you: How reputable is BBTS? That is to say, should I consider canceling my order and finding these mates 'in the wild'? I only ask because I went through a similar thing last year when I ordered something from AFX and still didn't get anything after 8 months of waiting. Then, by the time I did cancel my order, I couldn't find what I wanted at any retail stores. I would really rather that not happen again. Thoughts?
  21. What, no Scarlet Centurion? Surely you jest, he's twice the character that Iron Lad is.
  22. You know, the last time I ordered from AFX it took nearly 8 months for me to get my order. To say I'm unhappy with their process is an understatement. I would absolutely order from a different establishment if you could, OR just buy it in an LCS if they end up carrying them.
  23. We might get her with the "complimentary" set that Boyd references. Anyone familiar with this comic have ideas as to what this set might be? So I'm thinking a 'complimentary' set would be something that ties in with the Team, but isn't necessarially the rest of the team (because where's the fun in that?) The first thing that pops to my head is a Thunderbolts set. It's the team that used to be headed by Norman Osborne, So I could see it as something like Venom, Bullseye, Moonstone, and Songbird. And on second thought it could be a traditional Avengers set. It's the team that Norman Osborne effectively stole, so it could be either the current New Avengers (Cap, Ronin, Spidey, and Iron Fist) or the now defunct Mighty Avengers (Iron Man, Wasp, Ares, Sentry) Regardless, I can't wait!
