  1. Great pics Mini Myte. I hope everyones' Minimate wishes come true this holiday season. A Merry Christmas to all! Here's looking for another banner year for the Minis in 2008. :bye1:
  2. I received these 2 minimates as well. It was very generous of DST to send these out for free. It makes this minimate hobby that much more enjoyable. Thanks DST.
  3. I have to go with the original Sinister Six. I've always loved the 1964 Amazing Spiderman Annual #1. However, as an aside, I've been reading the current Captain America series (#27-#29 - post Captain America's death), and it would be fun to have the latest incarnation of the Serpent Squad plus some of the other notable characters like: Serpent Squad Sin Cobra Viper Eel (Pic reference: http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_ar...5809&si=129 ) Others Falcon Red Skull Crossbones Dr. Faustus
  4. Hey Dante, Cool. What did you think of them? Any potential? (Of course at $10 a piece, one has to be a little cautious of them mixing in well with the Minimates.)
  5. Hmm... look like this line might have been inspired by our beloved Minimates. http://www.toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=1&itemid=11769 These stand at 2.75 inches tall (slightly larger than the DC 2.5 inchers). Perhaps, they'll make good generic enemies or allies to our existing Minimates.
  6. Here's another posting of pics for this wave. http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/005575283.cfm
  7. Thanks for the pics Tim and thanks to everyone else (i.e. JP) that has posted/will post SDCC pics in other threads) ! Wow, this just made my day at work go from bad to good. Hawkeye and Vision, Whooo Hoo! I'm also lovin' that Mysterio.
  8. Thanks for the contest Shane and congrats to all of the winners as well.
  9. Hey Crippler, Here's a pic of the "partial" Wasp minimate from DST myspace page: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...logID=267418473
  10. Hey thanks for the intel SG. I'm really enjoying this line of Marvel Zombie minimates. Since it's being solicited in an upcoming Previews, I guess this 2-pack must be a Previews exclusive then. Definitely looking forward to the first zombie set to touch down at SDCC. I'm also in that zombie frame of mind since I'm reading "World War Z - An Oral History of the Zombie War" by Max Brooks.
  11. Hey, I didn't know there was going to be a Gimpy Knees & Legs two-pack in this series. Is this DC's first chase set? Kidding aside, I agree with Jason on the quality control issues with the some of the recent releases. I hope the factory has worked out these bugs. With such a big push on this particular line, issues like this can often make or break the future of the product.
  12. Thanks for the great pics MM and congrats for being the first to post a Bane backbreaking Batman pic. My favorite set is the Batgirl and Bane one. Though I definitely am going to have to pick up a full set tomorrow (along with the Spiderman Previews 5-pack). Well this looks like the start of a very busy and expensive Minimate month.
  13. Hmmm... so it's looking like the Defenders box set. AFX did a minor update, and now they are showing what appears to be a hint of Sub-Mariner's torso. (fourth pic under the Future Exclusives Previews section) http://www.shopafx.com/20sandicoin.html#Previews
  14. Sicko! Plastic porn? eugh. I'm keeping my Batgirl away from the Joker. If she does come with a separate hairpiece, is an Oracle custom in order?
  15. Hmmm... I happened upon this while checking out their website. Look under the "Previews" section (third image). http://shopafx.com/20sandicoin.html The torso image looks to be the Dr. Strange minimate. I could be wrong. What do you guys think? The text also appears to suggest they will be taking preorders for it at SDCC.
  16. For those who haven't seen them, here's a link to the pic (compliments of Toy News International's web-site). http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=vie...600&start=0
  17. Ah, good points Reideen1313. So the retailers at least were interested in carrying this first series of DC minimates. Hopefully, the sales of these are doing well enough that dealers continue to order them (and keep them in the Top 10).
  18. According to Diamond Comic Book Distributors, look what showed up as number 4 http://www.action-figure.com/index.php?nam...e&sid=21301 A nice strong showing. If this keeps up, Minimates hopefully will be around for a loooong time.
  19. Wow, pretty cool stuff. I like the female theme to it. Is it just me or does Bizarro look like Christopher Walken?
  20. Just a reminder: Another minimate release to look forward to. Orders should begin tomorrow for those who can't make it to the show. For those who do, if you could post pics and reviews that would be much appreciated.
  21. Ahhh...it's gonna be a good year. Wizard Entertainment's website has a nice summary of what's in store for the rest of the year. They have some good close-up shots (click on the thumbnails - my personal favorite, the unmasked Green Goblin). http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/003691046.cfm
  22. Rad: Sorry to hear the link doesn't work. I tried to find you a different link, but most of them have different pictures of the product (though I think they are the same). If you do see similar ones online, remember the key is to get the removable ones. So far, I've tried the dots on clear plastic materials, and it holds the Minimates quite well. You may need to use 2 dots if you are displaying the 'mates upside down. It does leave a real minor residual smear on plastic when you remove it. But that can be easily gotten rid of by running some regular tape over it to clean it off. Another thing to be careful of is to remove the 'mate from the adhesive by gently pulling on the foot near the base close to where it sticks. Don't try to pull the 'mate from its head, torso or leg because you might damage it. Cappy: I'll keep testing it on other materials and will let you know. So far no yellowing with any plastic or the glue dot. I'm not sure, but I think these same type of dots are used by the vendors when they display them at conventions/shows such as SDCC and Toyfair. PS: The glue dots cost me $1.99 for a pack of 60
  23. One of the problems with displaying Minimates in cases and on desks and shelves is that often times they fall. I was looking at my local stationary store for some clear puddy, but came across this instead. http://www.gluedots.com/display/router.aspx?DocID=1083 (Removable Glue Dots) So far, they appear to keep the minimates adhered to a surface pretty good. You can even use this to posed certain Minimates upside down (i.e. the Beast or Nightcrawler). Also, I'm trying to see if they can be removed nicely without damaging the plastic on the 'mates. Anyways, I hope this helps.
  24. Well I just got back from Wondercon and had an opportunity to meet and talk briefly with DST Matt. Matt is a really nice guy. He's definitely very easy to talk. DST has a lot of great products coming out, and it looks like it is going to be a very expensive year for many of us. On the non-minimates side, I also liked the Wrath of Khan figures and the classic Mego repros. Pretty much all the major news regarding new minimates has been covered at Toyfair and the NY Comic Con.
