custom question for the more experienced

Recommended Posts

I have a customizing question for anyone that might know. I’d like to make a custom and need a rectangular base of something solid to fit around part of the figure (think of Kitty Pryde phasing through a wall). I’ve considered pouring something like plaster around the figure with it placed like I need it, but am wondering if there’s a better way to do it or if that would even work. Any ides?

How thick do you need it?

If not very thick, I'd suggest foamcore. With a good sharp knife you should be able to carve holes for your Minimate from it.

If you do need it thick, can you make it out of modeling clay? Less messy than plaster, you can sculpt around the Minimate for the perfect fit, and I'm sure you can find a brand that would either air dry of bake solid.
