SCW
This is going to seem really lazy, but I'm almost certain I've stuck Lego heads on Minimates head pegs before and they fit okay (I believe you lose the ball joint obviously. I have a few Minimates around, but no Legos without really digging through a bunch of my stuff. Can someone confirm? I'm thinking of buying a Lego head for a custom and I need to confirm this works. I know Lego heads are a bit smaller, but my custom will be a slightly oversized helmeted Lego, so I think it might work. If anyone can help or even provide a pic, I'd be grateful. Prowlar
Basically yes Lego heads do fit but it really depends on the "helmet" as to whether they scale with the body very well.It
SCW
Cheers! Thanks a bunch. And those look great!
hellpop
It's especially useful for Star Wars helmets (so Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Stormtroopers) and sculpted heads (like the Simpsons, Looney Tunes, Disney). Frankly I think most of the sculpted heads look better on Minimates than they do on Legos.
elhonez
Those examples that Prowlar posted look pretty slick. Any specific heads you've found that look cool, or are good for customs?
bilbofett
I used a gray wolf head for John Jameson (the name escapes me) worked pretty well.
bilbofett
Oh, also put Spiderham head on the tiny Spider-man body.
hellpop
I think I already wrote this, but I think the sculpted heads used for things like The Simpsons and Looney Tunes look really good. They actually fit Minimate bodies better IMHO because they look a bit big for Legos. Also any helmeted heads, like Darth Vader, look very good. Trekker 42
Anyone put Lego Kermit head on Mate Kermit body? I feel like he’d be really good for it.
elhonez
@bilbofett did you use this guy for John Jameson? I agree Spider-Ham looks pretty legit:
bilbofett
Yes, that's the wolf head. The chibi spider-man body is a little big for spiderham, but it works.
elhonez
@bilbofett do you have any pictures? I'm inches away from aggressively bidding for one of these on eBay, but wasn't sure what you meant by "little big." Did you mean that Ham should be smaller overall, or did the Lego head look a little weird seated on the body?
bilbofett
No the head is fine. The minimate body is taller than the character should be. I'll try to snap pic. I actually bought a knockoff. You could try Bricklink also.
elhonez
Thanks, I'll take a look there!
