Molybdenum Man
Here is my first foray into posting some of the customs I have made. Most are quick customs by swapping parts, with judicious use of Sharpies. I have occasionally painted customs. I will post some pics and descriptions - please let me know what you think. Thanks Molybdenum Man Edited April 7, 2012 by Molybdenum Man
TM2 Dinobot
They look amazing. This is the most perfect Invisible Woman custom i've ever seen.
Molybdenum Man
Here is a re-imagined Rocket Red (DC character). I have seen at least one excellent, comic-based custom made for this character elsewhere on this website, made from a STRIPES figure with some heavy modifications. That is way outside my skill set. These figures were created using the Silver Centurion Iron Man / Crimson Dynamo two pack recently on clearance at TRU. Iron Man contributed the head, arms with gauntlets, and crotchpiece + legs + boots. The torso and bulked-up chest piece came from the Crimson Dynamo figure. A silver Sharpie was use to turn Iron Man's mask into a faceplate, to add the number to the chest (the Rocket Reds were a large fighting force for the Soviet Union near the end of the Cold War), and to color in the star, which was made from a hole punch and an index card. I will post some pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do that. Thanks

Molybdenum Man
Here is a Captain Cold custom. It is my only successful foray into Sculpey so far. I got the idea for using Sculpey to make the cuffs on the parka from Boyd (I think). Body is a random figure repainted. The hood for the parka is from a Cyclops helmet with the visor removed. The head is an earlier wave Wolverine with a bit of an evil grin. Belt, holster, and gun are courtesy of Spymaster. The visor is blue card stock. The icicles on the parka on white card stock. Thanks for looking! Is the Flash in trouble?

boyd
Neat work on the Rocket Red Brigade. Very creative use of TRU leftovers.
Molybdenum Man
Thank you very much for the feedback. Up next... Batman characters! First, Eva Mendes as Catwoman (it works, right?) Just a swap of the chest piece (), head, and hair from the Sans Serif cat burglar figure from the box set, with the Catwoman from the C3 batglider set. Molybdenum Man
Roxy Rocket - from the animated WB series from the 1990s. A fun character from a few episodes. An early attempt at kitbashing and cheapo customizing... Head is from a Kitty Pryde X-Men figure, belt is from Ultimate Wolverine, jacket is from Logan figure, hands are from Blade, "helmet" is from Lady Deathstrike. Crotchpiece and legs are from Ghost Rider (not sure why). Feet look like they are from Lady Deathstrike too. The goggles are LEGO. The helmet was trimmed back with an X-Acto knife so the goggles would fit. The cut edge and hair were colored using a black Sharpie, which was also used to give her a black t-shirt and some cleavage. Silver and black Sharpies were used to color in the goggles. A piece of red ribbon was used to make the scarf. Talia! Base figure is Lady Deathstrike with helmet, chestpiece, loincloth, sleeves, and hands removed. Bottom part of legs (below knee) and feet were colored in with a black Sharpie. Hair was courtesy of a Spiderwoman figure (Target clearance from a few years ago!). Holsters and weapons are probably from an Assault Punisher figure (Wave 9). Talia and her "Beloved"
Molybdenum Man
One of my favorite customs, 'cause I love the character... The Grey Ghost! One of the best non-canon characters created for the animated series from the 1990s, he only appeared in a single excellent episode starring the voice talents of none other than Adam West. Rent it if you can. Body (torso, arms, crotchpiece, legs) is from a 24 End of Day 2 Nina Meyers figure. The arms were removed and the torso reversed, then the arms were replaced. A black Sharpie was used to draw in the shirt front and the belt buckle. Black hands (gloves) and feet were from the parts bin. The cape is a modified and repainted Magneto cape (early wave). The head and hat are from a BSG Carvil figure. The hat was painted to match the cape. The gun is from a BSG figure (I love these guns!). The goggles are LEGO, and were repainted. Working together, hero with his childhood idol... Edited January 7, 2012 by Molybdenum Man
Molybdenum Man
Commissioner Gordon and Renee Montoya. Commissioner Gordon was made using ideas nicked off of others, including the use of a John Baxter head from a Fistful of Dollars set, and a hair with glasses from 24 (Jack Bauer Box Set 2), a Bruce Banner torso, and an overcoat. Renee Montoya was made using the head from the Question figure added to a BSG Number Eight Sharon Valerii figure. The hair was from Michelle Dessler, also from 24 (Box Set 2). Here is the larger set up:

Molybdenum Man
Thanks for all the feedback I received, it is much appreciated (wow, Boyd replied...I am not worthy, sir) More pics! Here is a custom Statesman figure. Statesman is the main superhero for Paragon City in City of Heroes, which I played way too much of when I first joined the Multiverse. And yes, for those of you playing along at home, you guessed it...my main character (level 50!) when I still played was in fact the high tech crimefighter known as "Molybdenum Man". Figure was made from a random figure with a Beast large chest piece to bulk him up. Helmet was from a Lego knight and required Dremeling (is that a verb?) to remove some interior plastic that would otherwise fit a Lego head; I also Dremmelled (again, verb?) the 'mates head to make the helmet sit at the right height so his eyes showed. Head is from a Special Ops MAX figure. Belt is from the parts bin, it was yellow before painting if that helps anyone ID it. Paints were Citadel, which are awesome and coat VERY well! The star on his chest is from cardstock and a star shaped hole punch (thank goodness my wife is into crafts). Mirymate
Nice tribue to a dead man, Moly. You did know they just killed ol' States in the game, right? Yeah. All hell is literally breaking loose Dark Astoria, and the evil Pratoreans are expected to invade any day now. So, hey new thngs to do! (yeah, I'm still playing. look me up at @EbonSword if you're ever "in town".)

Molybdenum Man
The Rocket Reds recently underwent an expansion. I got some more Silver Centurion Iron Man / Crimson Dynamo sets for cheap. I switched over to Citadel Mithril Silver (from Sharpies) to turn the mask into a faceplate. The star was made with a hole punch and also painted with Mithril Silver. The ID number was added with a Sharpie. Molybdenum Man
I am a fan of all of your respective efforts (Bob Harris, Mirymate, TM2, Nessex), so thanks a lot for the feedback! It helped that the M.Bison sets have been on clearance at FiveBelow's for $2.50 each over the past few years, along with the occasional eBay find. I'll try to take some more pictures of that set up. And dj87 and jcastick too - thanks! More Cap pics, fighting the M Bison army Who is the leader of these red minions? Is it him? No, much worse!
