  1. I would imagine there's an alternate bandaged head for Hicks. Maybe a bandaged arm piece like the one that comes with the Walking Dead one-arm Rick Grimes. But I would put good money on an alt head for sure.
  2. BBTS has the 2-packs up for preorder. Wounded Hicks / Ripley Pvt Drake / Battle Damaged Attacking Alien Sgt Apone / Alien Cpl Dietrich / Infected Colonist
  3. I think Drake was in the display at NYCC but don't quote me on that. I know Frost (with the flames), Ripley, Newt and the flaming Alien were shown and I really want to say Drake was shown as well. Regardless, this is cool news because it means his unique chest cap can be used for Vasquez as well.
  4. I think the problem is that there are two of Leo, two of Raph, but three of Mike (including mutagen) and only one Don. I think it would have been better to have two Dons and two Mikes (including Mutagen) so that there would be two complete sets of four. The strip I found had 2 of each Turtle with the variant Mutagen Mikey being the second Mikey. I know this because I spent a good long time feeling up the bags in the store. Did I find a fluke strip? I thought the pack out was 2 of each with the Mutagen variant swapped in for the second Mikey.
  5. FYI I got my correct replacement parts in the mail yesterday. Huge props to DST and their awesome team.
  6. I didn't realize that. The seam on mine just looks like it was all sculpted as one piece. I didn't think to try to pop them apart.
  7. One of those small voice chip keychain devices with a few Mrs. Wolowitz sayings built into the Minimates couch would have been awesome.
  8. I was catching up on the IDW TMNT comics over the weekend and my mind started wandering into Minimate territory. I was trying to think of the best way to do a Krang in his big robot body, either the big conehead wrestler from the classic cartoon or the big metal military body he uses in the IDW comics. While it would be really cool to be able to insert the Krang brain from the blind bag figure I think a decal would be easiest to do. What would be a good body to use for a big Krang robot body? Arnim Zola comes to mind, at least the chest cap from that figure, maybe on a Zangief body?
  9. The packaging has an "Entertainment Earth Exclusive" sticker. Is that right? These are exclusive to EE? I thought they were going to be available to everyone.
  10. Like I said, I have a case of the specialty blind bags on preorder. I just needed the K-Mart exclusives and I got them no problem. Good news that K-Mart has ordered more. I'd be down with getting a few more Footbots and Soldiers if I can find them. Zach - did you ever find out what the specialty store case breakdown is going to be? I know its a full set of each but do we know the extras?
  11. That's because "In space (and apparently Missouri)...no one can hear you scream". How exactly might I do this? I tried twice on the DST "contact us" page with a "attn Kelsey @ Customer Service" heading. Was this incorrect? Not knowing your real name off the top of my head, I assume we've received your messages, and just forgot to send a response. I'll look into it, see where we are with parts. For you, too, MS. EDITED: Just heard back from DST. My parts are on the way.
  12. TRU news came out much later, I told you as soon as I knew for sure they were happening. I'll talk to them about the possibility of indivisually bagging accessories in Series 2. Wait... is this a blind bag Series 2 you're talking about? If so I'll second the "bagging the accessories" or even the whole kit and kaboodle. Hasbro's Kre-O blind bag figures come unassembled (duh cuz they're building block figures) with all the parts inside a clear baggie. Makes it a bit harder to feel for specific parts but less chance of something being lost if you rip the bag open and it explodes like a bag of chips.
  13. I haven't seen my replacement parts after talking to Kelsey last week. I sent a follow up email earlier this week just to see if they'd been mailed and haven't heard back.
  14. I will say, in regards to the hands/feet/heads coming off easily point, the Raph I took apart for my custom Trenchcoat Raph had really tight connections at the joints. I almost had to boil and pop the hands off the arms and had to trim a bit from the wrist peg to get them to fit in the Thing arms. Not sure if that's a line wide thing, an intentional thing or just a fluke. But the joints seem to be tighter on these than other Minimates I've gotten recently.
  15. No need for an FAQ. All the info is in this thread, once you filter out all the "K-Mart SUX!!1!one" posts.
  16. Thanks everyone. This was a fun figure that I'm really glad I was able to put together. Glad you like it.
  17. Dammit. Now I'm going to spend the day comparing parts to make a Vanilla Ice custom. He got me, too. *shakes fist* Altho I think I'mna be partial to stock-guy Vanilla Ice with a mini box of TMNT mac & cheese. ;p PS -- Zach, I thought the turtles were cool in pics (like from SDCC), but they are even better in person!! (And thankfully, no eye wonk on any of them.) Thanks!! I was actually thinking a 2-pack line of Vanilla Ice Minimates. "Ice Ice Baby" Vanilla Ice (first appearance) / "TMNT 2" Vanilla Ice "Celebrity Boxing" Vanilla Ice (with boxing gloves) / "The Surreal Life" Vanilla Ice "Guy vs. Rachel: Celebrity Cook-Off" Vanilla Ice (with cooking apron) / "Vanilla Ice Project" Vanilla Ice (with sledge hammer & parts for Vanilla Ice Goes Amish Vanilla Ice) "Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese" Vanilla Ice (mail-in exclusive available with 5 proofs of purchase from Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese)
  18. Dammit. Now I'm going to spend the day comparing parts to make a Vanilla Ice custom.
  19. No my Krang had the gun. It was stuck in the package. Thanks for bringing that up. I would have thrown it out if you hadn't. Luckily I still had the bags. The strip I found had 2 of each turtle including the Mutagen Mikey (2 Donnie, 2 Leo, 2 Raph, 1 Mikey, 1 Mutagen Mikey) so 8 Turtles, Foot Soldier, Footbot, Krang and Shredder. I know there were 2 Donnies because I felt all of them and found 2 that were definitely Donnie.
  20. Like some of you I've mixed and matched parts to create new characters and different armybuilders but I hadn't yet ventured into full on customizing Minimates yet. This is my first that involved modifying parts and painting. The classic trenchcoat disguise Raphael. Basically I took a blind bag Raphael, and a Trenchcoat Thing and bashed them together to create this. As soon as the TMNT 'mates were announced and preorders opened up I snagged a Trenchcoat Thing on ebay and have been sitting on it waiting for the TMNT figures to arrive. I took the lower arms of Thing and cut off the hands (as they are sculpted on), drilled out a hole for the Raph hand peg to fit through and put them together. Then I took the coat, cut out the Thing "skin" from the neck area and sanded it down. Finally I cut off the Thing face from the hat and cut off the head peg as the Raph head doesn't have a hole on the top. A little superglue to glue the hat and glasses onto the face and some touch up paint and I have this beauty in my collection.
  21. Here are some quick and dirty photos of the figures I picked up today. The Krang is a VERY cool figure. Clear body with silver and pink tampos give it a really cool alien robot look. And while the Krang itself is just a Minimate head with the legs sculpted on, it looks great. The bottom of the head has been filled in so no popping this onto a body without drilling out a neck hole unfortunately. The Footbot is WICKED cool. The second set of arms are held on by a waist piece with the shoulder joints on the back. This gives it a creepy spider robot feel especially with the big robot arm weapons mounted on it. AND you can easily remove the robot parts and have a simple Footsoldier. The big scythe/sword arm suffered from some blind bag warping but nothing a little soak in some hot water can't fix. I was skeptical about this figure initially but now that I have it in hand I can say it has won me over. The regular Foot Soldier is a bit of a letdown after opening the Footbot first, but that's only by comparison. On its own the Foot Soldier is a great army builder and looks very cool. The scabbard backpack is a great piece and has a peg to hold the axe looking weapon and the knife on the back of the belt is a great touch. Definitely going to be looking to get a few more of these. The variant for the K-Mart blind bags is Mutagen Mikey. He's just the regular Mikey figure done in clear green with an orange bandana. Nothing too special especially compared to the SDCC clear orange Mikey but a neat looking figure. And here's a shot of all the figures I picked up at K-Mart today. So far the Krang and the Footbot are my favorites. Can't wait to get the rest of the series. Oh and I didn't take individual pictures of Raph because he was being turned into this... 22. I got lucky at the K-Mart up the street and they had the strip fully stocked with all 12 figures. I left the 2 Donnies and 2 Leos and Shredder (I have a specialty case on preorder) but grabbed what I'm pretty sure were the 2 Raphs, 2 Mikeys, the 2 different Foot figures and the Krang. Here is my "feel" guide if you're interested. Keep in mind this is in no way a definitive guide, just what I "felt" and figured out knowing basic Minimate anatomy and the look of the Turtles. K-Mart Blind Bag "Feel Guide" Mikey - feel the body of the figure for the nunchucks on his back. You should feel the 2 bumps where they are sheathed and a space inbetween them. Raph - has no discernible bumps and is the only Turtle that you can't feel anything on his back Leo - feel for the square scabbard on his back. Its pretty big and noticeable when you feel for it. Donnie - feel for the single bo staff sheath on his back, in the center at an angle. Also feel for his bo staff by itself, very thin round rod Shredder - feel for the smaller square body and THEN the pointed shoulder pads which are pretty easy to feel if you know Minimate anatomy. You can also confirm by feeling for his helmet which is NOT on his head Krang - the only square body with no add on parts. You can feel for his "Krang Brain" as well Footbot - feel for the longer arms and the pointed drill hand piece. Has a square body. Foot Soldier - feel for the sword sheath on his back which is smaller than Leo's but the same basic shape. Also a square body Unfortunately there is no way to tell the difference between Mutagen Mikey and regular Mikey but you have a 50/50 shot if you find the right figure. I bought the 2 they had and got lucky when the first one I opened was the Mutagen variant. I'll be keeping one Raph for a custom (to show up later this weekend) and returning 1 Raph and 1 Mikey as I got lucky and opened the figures I wanted after feeling them all up for 30 minutes in the store. I'll post some pictures here shortly if I can get my camera to cooperate.
  23. Oh man how cool would a Deathmate series be? If only DST had the DC rights so they could put out the Wildstorm characters that were in this crossover.
