  1. Very cool. I hope DST produces something like this and some other characters from Razor. I wonder how she looks with Dee's hairpiece and a gun. That scene was, uh, well executed.
  2. Kind of difficult to not put these first six in. The season 4 reveal will also need a 'mate if that character doesn't already have one. Anders/Cavil Doral/Simon Leoben/Tory Variant: Leoben/Billy Some close runner-ups: Ellen Tigh, updated Three, Hot Dog, Crashdown, Racetrack, Jammer, Seelix, Colonial Marine, eye-patch Tigh I'm sure Razor will need minimatization also.
  3. The variant has a different coloured neck above the T-Shirt, the previous one was brown this one is pink ( Waits to get smacked for not using the appropriate ethnic terms). It's a small difference but enough to make it a purchase for completist's. However with a tiny spot of pink paint people that aren't so anal can have a fig that's effectively the variant! See above for my views on Apollo! T. And Dee has a lady chest. Tyrol doesn't, so it's a new design for the uniform.
  4. This is great news. Kat is cool. I'm glad to see the extra effort put into the Cylon too.
  5. woo hoo! Porn star Baltar! Totally explains what is going on with Mary Marvel's undergarments. Cool variant.
  6. Replacing Sinestro with Deadshot And while I'm at it, instead of a White Martian, I'd rather have the Elongated Man
  7. The series 1 variant was incorrectly called Shelly Godfrey. The variant is Baltar's vision Six- specifically as he sees her on Kobol when we learn that a human cylon hybrid will be born and that Baltar and Six are the 'parents'. http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Image:KobolHallu.jpg Barefoot: http://www.imdb.com/gallery/scrapbook/62/S...elfer,%20Tricia
  8. Great news. I really love this line and hope this isn't the last wave. I would like the rest of the humanoid Cylons(they're not all incredibly gorgeous women after all), Anders, and Tori. Maybe Romo Lampkin. And whatever fun new characters we meet in Razor and Season 4. Anyway, wave 4 looks like a good line-up. It's nice to see DST is making sure these are getting to the fans even if retailers won't pick up exclusives. This could also be a good sign. Maybe interest is up enough to justify producing full waves and not just a character here and there. Either way, we're getting a bunch of cool mates.
  9. I feel a lot better about the wings now. After a few days, the joints settled in, and on Hawkman both wings feel like they they move pretty well without the risk of breaking. Hawkgirl hasn't fared quite as well. The right wing is still a touch too snug and I can already see a small rip forming just outside of the joint. It's small, so as long as I'm careful, it will be ok. But I prefer perfect the first time around.
  10. I am with you all the way on this one xVashx. If they had a Vertigo wave, I would have to finally buy my first DC mates. No, make that a whole case. Um........ can DC Direct make Vertigo mates if they wanted to? They should be able to. DCD has produced other Vertigo figures. It would be pretty weird if DC/Vertigo had granted an exclusive license to someone other than DCD- they don't even do that with Superman, Batman, or the Justice League. Wildstorm might be different. I was never a big reader of that imprint, and so I don't really know a whole lot about when Wildstorm merged into DC. If Wildstorm had granted exclusive licenses to make action figures before the acquisition, those may still be in effect prohibiting DCD from producing anything.
  11. Shazam (Capt. Marvel) head and hair Chameleon body. I tried the Capt. Marvel head on a Baltar body for the relaxed, loose tie look. Looked good. The most recent issue of Mental Floss magazine has an article on secrets of the presidents. Very interesting and entertaining.
  12. In the Wave 5 Pics thread. Red Tornado: 10/10 I don't know what it is, but this little bugger is incredible. Very crisp paint apps and a GREAT expression on his face. The collar is just at the right height. Really, this is one simple but wonderful 'mate. Ma Hunkel: 2.5/10 Eh. I'm all for the diversity of DC characters we've been getting, but I'm not a fan of this mate. I know there are plenty of JSA fans out there that are happy to have her, and good for you guys, but I, really, Ma Hunkel before GA Green Lantern? As for the mate itself, the hair piece is great and the face looks like a great interpretation of Ma. And nice use of the short feet. I also imagine this isn't the last time we'll see such a simple cape design (if we haven't seen it already somewhere else). The torso piece is really, really boring. Very much a step back when the rest of DCD Minimates have been moving forward. No detail. I think a fat-suit would have been better. Alright, you get the idea. So far, the worst of the DCD mates, but a few features save her from being a total zero. Captain Marvel: 8.5/10 Another hit! I love this little man. His cape is fantastic. The hair, the expression, it all works so well. A few paint app problems keep him down a little. Overall, he wonderfully captures the Champion of Shazam and is another DC mate that, to me, is representative of this line's high quality Mary Marvel: 7.5/10 So, so close to greatness. I would have preferred the white outfit. Really. There's too much red in this wave. Also, her face and hairpiece have some issues. Either her face is too high or her hair sits too low. Either way, the hair covers too much of her eye brows. Easy solution to just pull the hair up a bit, but I prefer perfection the first time around. Guy Gardner: 9.5/10 Sweet. So very sweet. The jacket and hairpiece are great. I like the new ring design, but I don't know if I like it better than old design. The simple dot really worked on minimates. The only problem with Guy is the boot design. I've had the same problem with Steel, also an othewise great mate. These boots weren't made for walkin'. They were made for fallin' though. Kilowog: 9/10 Very cool. His sculpted face looks much better than I thought it would. The only thing I don't like is the muscles painted onto his chest. Somtheing just looks a bit off there. Too much detail perhaps. The face though looks too good to keep this guy down. I'm actually excited now about the upcoming minimates that really step out of the design box. The Hawks Hawkgirl: 7.5/10 Hawkman: 8/10 The good. Weapons. Rad weapons. Spot on masks. Nice details. I also really like that Hawkman has a belt for a little extra height. Very cool. The bad. The chest piece works on Hawkman. I don't like it on Hawkgirl. It doesn't ruin the figure, but it could have been better. The ugly. I'm not feeling good about the future of the wings. Great idea, but they feel very week in the joints. It's worth point out that on both of the hawks, the left wing fits and moves better. Both right wings are far too snug and so don't allow much safe movement. Overall: This is a great wave. One of the better ones, IMO. I really like that DCD took an opportunity offer a wave without any of the heavy hitters. Without tossing in one of the bigger guns, DCD gace the designs and accessories a chance to really stand out.
  13. You know, I would kind of dig a line of presidential minimates. They could come with little display stands that had their name, presidential number, and years in office. So it would be like George Washington, 1st President, 1789-1797 or Ronald Reagan, 40th President, 1981-1989. Grover Cleveland would kind of mess it up though.
  14. Says the guy posting in a BSG thread of a toy forum Thanks for the link, Pickle. Battlestarwiki, or any wiki for that matter, tends to be much more reliable than drunken conversations... heeeey.... what's wrong with drunken conversations? (falls off chair) Nothing at all. I'm quite a fan myself. It's just that my research shows that information retrieved via the internet is 37.5% more reliable than information retrieved via drunken conversations. So now, after having a few Sam Adams, I would like to tell you all about the time I saved Ronald Reagan's life...
  15. Legal issue, when was there last a comic book by DC with "Captain Marvel" as the title on the cover? Silly Marvel with their silly trademarks. Although, SHAZAM! is a lot more fun to say than Capt. Marvel so I think it really works out as far as merchendising goes. I don't have it yet. Not a huge problem, but a problem nonetheless.

  17. This wave looks like it won't disappoint. I really dig Red Tornado. And Guy. Booster and Blue Beetle will be delighted. And it's good to see the Fwoosh is alive and kicking.
  18. That's a hanky? I thought they were those weird playing cards that they use. I also thought it was supposed to be a hand of cards. that card game would be called Triad. yeah, when i first saw the images on here i thought it was a hanky as well. and the booze is Ambrosia Actually Triad is the sport they play. I think the card game is called pyramid. In the new show, they're both called Pyramid. Triad is in the original series.
  19. Hope/Guess: Martian Manhunter/Despero Animal Man/Adam Strange Superboy/Wondergirl GA Green Lantern/ Solomon Grundy
  20. Cool line up. Cyborg and Raven look super sweet. I hope Cyborg gets some kind of cannon arm. Sinestro is rad. That's really all that can be said about that. Wait- it's about time. Rad and it's about time. Batwoman/Question 2-pack is cool. I can't wait to see better pics to figure out which question that is. (With so few details, I won't even guess at this point) Salakk looks cool. I just really hope his head doesn't have too much texture. As for the Red Son set- meh. I'll get it, but I think it's just a little too soon for elseworlds sets. There are just so many more characters I'd rather see fleshing out the main DCU.
  21. I'd like to see two boxsets for Kack Kirby's The Fourth World. The first set would include Orion, Mister Miracle, Big Barda, Light Ray, and Highfather. The second set would feature Darkseid, Desaad, Kalibak, Granny Goodness, and a Parademon. Both sets should be accessory-heavy.
  22. I was hoping for Mary Marvel's new black outfit from Countdown, but I'll take what they give me. White would have been awesome too though. Due to time issues, I normally only get trades. Which sucks because DC takes their time in getting the TPBs out. But I checked out some images of Mary Marvel- she does look great in black. That would have been cool. I don't know why, but I really don't like her in red.
  23. These look great. Caprica Six looks even better than I originally thought. What is that in Tigh's hand? I can't really make it out in the pics. Stuckakid has the release date as August 29. And yeah, Gina is the variant. So we get a spare Baltar. I guess it will be nice to have an extra suit body. Thanks for the pics.
  24. I like Kilowog's chest piece. And that ring of his looks very spiffy. Starfire's hair looks as great and long as it should. I prefer the 2.5 Clayface, but mostly because I don't want Clayface to look dinky next to giant Bane. I was really hoping Mary Marvel would end up in white instead of red. And does classic Batman appear to have new hair? I can't wait to have him posed punching Guy Gardner. All of the mates look great. I hope DCD unveils Wave 8 at some point this weekend. And thanks for the photos.
  25. in lieu of Flash and Nightwing: Darkseid Adam Strange
