  1. The old thread rumbles on and on.......... PL when you eventually do get your steaming pile from AA, you will remember to post a picture won't you?! It was two months ago I posted about what a sad place the AA forum has become, well it just got a little sadder because this morning I deleted my account. Although ~ get this ~ you have to have the deletion approved by one of the mods! So you can't actually leave without permission! I tried to stay loyal to the first online community I ever joined (three and a half years ago), but many of the smartest posters have already left and some the people left fling childish crap at you when you're not exactly thrilled at the latest, pointless, TOS head swap variants, and therefore refusing to rain kisses upon AA/DST's ass ~ regardless as to how well you state your reasons ~ made it real easy!
  2. I was wondering who kept on leaving the seat up!
  3. Ady Carter's holiday solution: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-63711994125288566
  4. Welcome Alpheon! I hope you stick around a while. I love it when lurkers make themselves known!
  5. So am I ! ...and when that happens I like to pop up in random places ...so to speak! I also used to live in Gibraltar ~ which also counts because it is a British dependency!!
  6. I'm coming to get you!! :excl: :excl: :excl: You should be grateful that I'm not....nobody would want to check out MY list and go shopping! :o
  7. ME!! ....It's Tuesday and it's my day for playing with fonts!
  8. Harsh...harsh Timmy! Mock not the afflicted! Welcome Modefan...I pop by occasionally to see how my old AA pals are getting on...I even have three minimates to my name!
  9. ^^^except that you left the foot pump off!! ...........Kidding! Kidding! I'm not even doing this...I'm just in a playful mood!
  10. Today I spent all morning wearing out shoe leather in York while my husband was at a business meeting. I did exciting stuff like buy an attachment for my Dyson and I checked out some of our Ady's local haunts ~ Freaky Friday and Travelling Man (couldn't find the shop with the comic bore in it this time) and decided that life must be hell if you're into minimates and live in York. The only thing I found that was close was a pack of mini Sex Pistols which I was quite taken with, but they cost £25! I did think about creeping up to Ady's workplace and stalking him.............. The me and hubby had a tapas lunch in La Tasca and drove all the way home. It took us four hours and the cat missed us sorely!
  11. Yeah, I meant to say that my daughter got to choose the kitten, and now everytime he breaks something or claws the furniture, we just blame her! Good luck in any case. That's the downside of having pets and we've had to deal with guinea pigs dying as well. It's never easy.
  12. ^^^What he said. Our cat Rufus had to be put down at age 11. I had him before I had my daughter and she'd known him all her life. We had him shipped out to Gibraltar and repatriated at huge expense (right before the quarantine laws were relaxed ) I knew Rufus was getting poorly and he'd been backwards and forwards to the vets all week, before they found a vast, inoperable tumour in his throat. There was no choice but to have him put down there and then ~ while he was still under anaesthetic for the exploratory. Miranda was old enough to understand what had occurred when I told her what had happened, but she had to ask me about him when we were halfway home from school and there was no way I could evade answering her until we got home. Result: flood of tears in the street. I was gutted, we all were, and it was right on Miranda's Key Stage Two SATs and we worried that this would distract her. I made the decision (even though it was way too early for me) to get a kitten a.s.a.p because I though a new, lively little fellow would give her something to enjoy and take her mind off the loss. Straight the next day, we were at the RSPCA home and less than two weeks later we bought home nine-week old Perry, who was shorthaired 'Felix' cat and very different to our longhaired ginger Rufus. You can't 'replace' humans in that way, but Perry turned out to be a right daft nutter (still is) and he really took our minds off the sad loss of Rufus ~ although none of us have ever forgotten old 'Stripey'.
  13. ^^^Now that is funny! I used to live in a place where apes used to throw shit around to, and were mildly entertaining to watch if you had fuck~all else to do, or were waiting for your taxi back to P&Os's Pond Princess, or some other floating nightclub. Put it this way, far more interesting than watching the plank warping slowly between dribbles of non~news from AA. What did happen to that 4" Star Trek line anyway?? I guess that's another eternally unanswered question to rack up there with "Why do birds suddenly appear everytime you are near?" and "What happened to Rick Astley?" Anway, I wish to strongly encourage Ady to 'poke through' some of those old AA threads..just for a laugh.....and for old time's sake. I'll leave it to your discretion as to what constitutes a good thread..............
  14. The Bad. The Good. The Downright Ugly. :o And back to the Good again! Oh, and I'll put in a GOOD word for Totaluskat's Cool Customs!
  15. Hmmmmm.....I might at that! So they're literally 'crawlers' now. Gee, that blows (love those American phrases!). If it's any consolation to you, we action figure peeps have our own beefs about quality too ~ stiff joints that refuse to move, limbs and heads falling off...........
  16. Shanester! Don't you even think of quitting!! Me, I don't even collect minimates but I'm here to stay in contact with old pals.
  17. I'd hug you all, but you prolly won't want this lousy head cold I have right now; it's turned me into a walking, talking snot machine!
  18. If you met some of the members of my family that would not be difficult!
  19. I know all about that! The worse thing about being in that state is the enormous sense of isolation, because by fronting up as "fine" you put a barrier up and no one can help you because nobody knows. I caved in ~once ~ and saw a counsellor, it was one of the best things I ever did.
  20. ^^^And that's utterly apalling! Mark's the salt of the Earth, and that's the kind of thing he would do to help folks out and it makes me mad that he wasn't reimbursed by AA. Yeah, the whole AACC thing was quite a mess. I refused to join, and I'm really glad I did. That is also...apalling.
  21. ^^^LOL! I've been in trouble for saying a lot less!
  22. ^^^LOL! I was under the impression that you banned Me and Berns...at least for the initial week!! Anyway, that's all water under the bridge now. What I can say is that the new AA forum isn't any kind of a real community: sure folks are good to each other, but the unresolved questions over the handling of the last moderating team hang over the forum as a bad smell. Of all the alternative forums: here and Mark's forum seem to be the places with the most community spirit because people can be themselves in them. That was the problem with the change of policy at AA IMO, the place went all PG13, but in the wrong way, and the mods either went for ...or were encouraged to go for, the wrong things and the wrong people. It killed the community, and I don't see AA getting it back anytime soon....but then, could they give a toss?
  23. Everything except your mother! No girl worth her salt ever wants to be their partner's mother, besides it only gives mothers a chance to hate their son's partner, and your partner will have enough mothering to do when she has kids of her own! Listen, you're young yet and ~ just my humble opinion ~ you've got plenty of time to settle down with the right woman. From what you say, neither of these women was right for you and you couldn't make a future with either of them. The ideal partner has just about everything you need inside the same skin, although nobody's a perfect fit so don't make the enternally singlies mistake of toting a shopping list about. A partner may not always be everything you want, but she'll be most of what you need, and needs have got to be met first. Be open~minded, keep your eyes, ears and more importantly, your heart open. Somewhere out there is the right woman for you, she may not collect toys; she may not ne the kind of girl you ever thought you'd fall for, but when you meet her, you'll know, and you won't give a damn about the size of her breasts because you'll be looking in her eyes! Just my two cents worth...and Timbo...you lend class to any discourse!!
  24. I saw that Adam had replied. It's about time somebody did! I know I sued to grumble about the mods before, but things have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous, because there's practically no moderation at all happening now! Seriously, I'd had my doubts about one poster who was putting up a number of pointless topics to which no one was replying. I checked her stats and found that most of her posts were in Day Pass and one in Trade (so not much of a toy collector then), where I found a discussion about whether 'she' was really a spambot. Judging by the tripe 'she' had posted in Day Pass, I reported one of her stupid posts, and now all her silly topics have disappeared!! The thing is, why had the mods not spotted this, and why am I doing their work for them?
