  1. That is reassuring news Zach - of course now you need to get ready for the spate of people lamenting that there may not be 4 lcs movie waves next year...lol
  2. Wow that is a cool poster - both versions actually - great work Tad.
  3. I hear what you are saying there and also to be fair lots of characters that I really wanted have been made in this line, including some that "nobody ever makes". However, there are still a fair few pretty major avengers and even spidey characters on my list for example, and actually the thing that attracted me to this line in the first place and continues to keep me looking forward to every comic-based reveal is that it DOES make the characters that other lines don't. The day that that stops happening is the day the line loses a lot of its appeal to me.
  4. Must say I received my tribbles enterprise this week (thanks Luke) and I was very impressed! Not only is it a great ship but the number of tribbles you get with it is amazing - it really does feel like you have your own tribble infestation!!
  5. Yeah, the character selection in this wave is great and it's good to see some new villains. I agree that the captain america corner of the marvel universe has been pretty well served with these plus the excellent zemos in wave 50. The only thing Id've changed would have been having a classic falcon in there - if not in this wave then maybe in the TRU wave with the alternative winter soldier - that would've been perfect.
  6. Yeah this is pretty much how I feel. I don't dislike the movie waves in themselves, in fact there are some I have liked quite a bit - but I don't want them "getting in the way" of comic waves. There are still so many unmade classic characters that I want and it feels like with so many movie waves, added to the all the modern stuff that's now being released (which features a high proportion of retread characters) I'm not seeing any progress through my wishlist any time soon. I can only assume that they must be outselling the comic stuff these days however, otherwise there wouldn't be quite so many?
  7. Yep, I feel the same way on this, movie waves seem to be taking a bigger and bigger part of the marvel waves to the detriment of comic stuff, not a trend that I want to see. It wouldn't surprise me if waves 58 and 59 turn out to be movies too.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I'd MUCH rather see enchantress in a thor related wave or even boxset, but there isn't much sign of that happening atm, especially with waves 55 and 56 now being movie waves again, so I'll take any thor comic character crumbs where I can find them! lol
  9. I'd buy it. Me too, Disco Dazzler is my biggest Xmen want, though I would swap one of the other 3 for Enchantress - she did fight her in her first 2 issues!
  10. Very true. However, I'm sure we're getting an X-themed wave soonish due to the heavy hinting that DSTChuck did in the Q&A's. X-Men also have a movie coming next year as well, and I think Movie Spidey mates are more of a sure thing than Movie X-Men. I would LOVE to be wrong as I'd much prefer Movie X-Men which we're really lacking, versus Movie Spidey that can be covered in pretty much 2 2-packs. Another Spidey themed comic wave coming soon wouldn't surprise me either. I did like the mixed feel of the last one with the TRU overlap including Daredevil characters, and I'd hope to see that Typhoid Mary that's also been suggested. Whatever we get, whatever corner of the MU is covered, I just want to see more classic comic designs. There's still a long way to go before we ever reach the bottom of the barrel, and they just interest me far more than movie or current storylines do. I'm with you on that one. And don't get me wrong, I think an xmen wave is as likely as spidey, I was just pointing out that there are other strong options to xmen.
  11. Just a thought amid all the xmen speculation: it's actually been longer since there was an all spidey comic wave than xmen, and he also has a movie coming out earlyish next year...
  12. This is my fear. As the number of movies increases the number of slots for comic waves seems to decrease. I'd like to think DST will start to pick and choose their movie waves a little more. For example, of those 4 movies only GOTG would be of huge interest to me as they are a new property. Even with that I would rather see them in comic form. Certainly ASM2 wouldn't be a big miss for me - it seems like we only just got spidey movie 'mates. Maybe the time has come to do shared movie waves with them coming out so close together, eg 2 cap packs and 2 spidey packs in a wave, so that they are covered but still leave space for more comic stuff? Having said that I reckon there's a fair chance of another comic wave between 54 and the movie madness kicking in. Leaving aside my own personal wish that it would be thor or avengers related, my main hope for it is that it is "classic" based. I think xmen is a great guess and if so I can't see how the brotherhood wouldn't finally get some attention, though again that banshee/sunfire pack seems very likely if so, and would be welcome. The other option is another "hodge-podge" wave, which again I personally would like.
  13. I don't like to be greedy so 3 standouts for me: Don Blake (come on we have his stick!) Jarvis Victoria Hand Oh and honourable mentions for Henry Gyrich (though clearly never happening) and an updated MJ (which probably has a pretty good chance of happening!)
  14. Yes I agree, a Luke's Toystore exclusive is long overdue!
  15. Yes I agree with 99% of that - this along with wave 20 plus 16, 31 and 32 are among my favourite waves. The only thing I don't agree with is that I also love the Ms Marvel. The only thing that could've improved her imo is a different hairpiece. As for why she's packed with ultron, I guess the obvious answer is how often has he fought mysterio or apocalypse? lol
  16. Yeah this is exactly right Zach. Being honest, as a mainly classic marvel fan I've not been wild on some of the recent announcements/releases but I still think every minimate you produce looks awesome and they seem to keep getting better and better. So I still buy almost all of them because the figures are great. And for the record, I didn't really like the story much but I think this is a great boxset with a set of characters that make perfect sense - and I especially love the Nick Fury! Oh yeah, and I agree, the classic ultron from wave 19 is pretty perfect, so no update really needed there for me.
  17. I listened! I think if you check that part of the thread I was pretty much saying I wasn't reading too much into the wording of the AskDST answer. Seems even less people listened to me lol.
  18. Man it's hard to know what thread to comment on this set in (there currently seem to be 3 choices!) but overall it looks a great set. I wasn't a fan of the comic tbh so that's maybe a bit surprising. I really like the Fury and the Ultron, and although I don't know Angela apart from seeing her very brief appearance in it she looks cool. I wouldn't have chosen Iron Man as the 4th figure as I'm not a fan of that look but I appreciate that most sets seem to need a heavy hitter so I guess he's an understandable inclusion. Overall very pleased though!
  19. We have Drax and Gamora. Ok point taken. I should've said since we don't have any of the GotG "teams" in comic form, and certainly we have none of the classic team, which is my personal favourite. Back on the topic in hand, great news that the redone villain and new character are going to make the boxset - thanks for the info Zach.
  20. I, myself, would prefer this, I've not been the biggest fan of the Marvel movie mates ( I just like the comic based looks 1000X better. Other properties are fine, like BTTF and GB because those are the main looks. But, I'll also say that I have almost nothing (besides minimates) that is the movie or television of something. I hope that makes sense I too would prefer this. I would much rather have comic versions of the movie characters. I think part of the problem is that the movie ones often look less colourful as obviously they go more for "realism". Ironically I think the thor ones tend to be the most visually striking yet TRU has passed on those. With Guardians of the Galaxy, since we currently have no comic versions of them in minimate form, I certainly hope that we don't just get exclusively movie stuff, though I agree they should also be more striking than the average movie figure.
  21. Boo! Hiss! No, not really. I actually totally agree that the brotherhood are a big current omission (and surprising as they weren't in the wave 50 poll) which I would like to see rectified even though I'm not an xmen fan. However, as a corner of the MU, if I look at my xmen/mutant display next to my thor, avengers, hulk, daredevil, guardians of the galaxy (lol) ones etc they don't seem to be at all under-represented in general. If the line ended tomorrow I wouldn't feel like the xmen had been short-changed, well except maybe for a disco dazzler, whereas I definitely would on most of those others, especially thor.
  22. Thanks YB, I thought so re the hulk. And yes that 2 boxset approach to the guardians would work well - let's hope sales on alpha flight don't prevent those sorts of release in the future. Maybe it would work better on a "current" movie themed group like that than on alpha flight which kind of came out of nowhere. And yeah Kostis, while I agree that there are still spidey characters I'd like to see I really don't think he can be considered neglected!
  23. Another good topic. I must admit as a thor fan I may be biased, but of the tent-pole characters I totally agree that he is most under-represented, especially in recent times. He appears to be the only upcoming movie star without any love (wolverine gets another tta set plus a figure in most waves it seems and cap gets wave 54) unless you count his Now! figure in wave 18 which I don't really as it's his classic supporting cast and villains that I think are lacking and I want. I mentioned in another thread some time back that I think he's had less villains released than the other A-listers. With my non-thor hat on for a second I would also say that hulk is lacking too as I don't think he's ever had a comic based wave to himself. At the very least I'd have thought he justifies a friends and foes set with doc Samson, bulked up abomination and another villain. And outside the tent-pole characters I would say cosmic hasn't had enough attention, notably the guardians of the galaxy. I suspect they will get something next year but I hope it's not only movie stuff if so - in fact I would most like to see the original comic team personally.
  24. FA Wonderman was my reserve........what happened to him ?? Er...he became second appearance Wonderman?
  25. Great topic. One wave certainly couldn't begin to totally fulfil my big wants but I would have to choose some of the missing unmade classic avengers/thor villains: Swordsman 1/ Mantis Moondragon / Hellcat Classic Mockingbird / First appearance Wonderman Ulik / Enchantress Since it's a one-off final wave I'm clearly skipping the army builder in order to fit in more of the charcacters I really want.
