  1. I thought it was the Battle damaged Gold/commander? for classic and obviously the chromed/downloaded for the modern. T. TBT,I'm not sure but my point is 450 of that item is pretty rare
  2. Well, lets take a look at what has been made: Modern / Classic Cylon Cases of 12: Limited to 450 pieces of each, good luck new people who want to find some. Were there really only that many produced? I knew they were rare but didn't realise how rare That's 450 cases... which is still aprox 5k minimates about the same as the runs for most exclusives... T. Agreed... but I'm trying to remember which was the 1 in 12 ,Black Stealth?

  4. Having not seen him in the flesh yet ,I have this to look forward to The underpants remind me of his 'Y-Man' incarnation from the 1974 Y-Men Mini-Series 'The 3 Y's-Men' . I still think #3 , ''Y ' Front against the X-Men' is a classic, only surpassed by # 4 'Stark Naked'. All we have to do now is wait for all the helmet jokes! T. Haven't heard from HAR for some while
  5. For some reason, these just don't seem to work for the U.S. We like to know what we're getting. The Japanese, on the other hand, seem to enjoy the thrill of discovery, I guess. I hate blind boxes. I also hate 1/100 variants, or whatever the ratio is for some of those Kubricks. 1/12, and knowing which pack has the variant, is much better. As you chaps Stateside say " do the math". The Kubrick Star Wars Series 8 has just been released. There are 6 regular figures,a 1/48 chase & two 1/96 secrets. If you are lucky there is a chance that you will find the whole set after buying 8 cases of 12 blind boxes. A chance! Currently on ebay a case of 12 will cost you a few dollars short of $100. 8x $100 = obscene Collecting these f$£kers is a disease
  6. I know this is old hat but surely we can't continue to have all these bleedin good guys & no sh%tting bad guys. We all know we need some really bad-ass bad guys. Red Skull would fit in with just about everything recently done & imminent.......Invaders.... doh! Currently the world is safe because we have a veritable cornucopia of heroes up against a Latvian ,an Octoped & the friggin Osbournes ....ooh scarey!
  7. You have to realise,if you don't already, how far advanced you guys, in the US, are compared to us humble Brits. Perhaps not so much now but when I first watched the 'Rockford Files' nobody I knew had an answering machine So I went out & bought one & the message I left for people to reply to was " Hi this is Jim Rockford....etc.etc...",probably not funny now but all the people leaving messages obviously loved it ..then" The Rockford Files & James Garner . I loved 'em. Never did get the Impala!
  8. The blind-package There my friend ,you have ,what I consider to be there eventual downfall & demise. If this is ever suggested for 'mates look out! I would loved to have seen further X-Files characters.
  9. K I just love your posts. 'Once upon a time in the west' ,what a truly great film which despite the fact that I've seen loads of movies ,even some of the new colour films ,I only watched this recently. Bloody well awesome movie The opening shot at the rail-yard seemed a little 'second-hand 'until you realised when the film was made...brand new! Now ....unfortunately.... I always think of Jack Elam as 'Swifty Morgan' in 'Support your local sheriff' starring James Garner. To this day if anybody comes too close to me in a pub I'll tell them "....never come up on my gun-side" .Invariably nobody knows WTF I'm on about ....do you? If you've seen the film you will. Priceless. I really like these 'Cowboy' mates. /quote] I was applauding every aspect of what you were saying there until you got to the bit about 'realism' ,weren't these 'Spaghetti Westerns ' dubbed Italian actors filmed in Spain. 'Buono,Il Brutto, il Cattivo' Clint,Lee & Eli. You are 100% correct on that. By my vague statement on "realism", I was referring more to the depiction of the lifestyle and grittiness of the times as opposed to previous Westerns' clean (absolute good vs. evil)imagery shot on Hollywood sets. In this manner I feel it raised the bar from pristine white hats and shiny revolvers to something more authentic (despite it's cultural ambiguity LOL). I'll also contest that these films gave birth to the concept of the "anti-hero" and a world where good and bad are simply a matter of perspective. Good-stuff that has stood the test of time and had a big influence on the way we view movies today. Oh, and not to mention giving us some of the coolest Minimates to date! ...& you'll forgive me for detracting from what was a perfect tribute to these films. Spot on.
  10. I agree this would sell the F out...now if we could just get Chuck and Matt to get on board. It seems in all of their replies they are like, yea army builders dont work... I assumed when they said 'army builders don't work' that they were referring to the BSG Cylons or LOR 'whatevers'. It begs the question did the Cylons not sell well or were there that many to sell? They are fairly scarce on ebay esp. orig.'single'Classics. Nick Fury is now fairly collectible purely I feel as a donor Shield 'army' builder & the Skrull/Thing 2 pack is my current 'New rare on the block' perhaps for the same reason. Army builders therefore would seem to be the way forward though maybe that DST marketing dept. is still deaf/blind.
  11. This would be my Holy Grail. Despite my nomination of Ice-Man as 'worst costume ever' in his 'Mashed Potato- man' guise I would actually love a 'mate of him in that form! Good shout 'Fiend.
  12. If you decide on buying some Kubricks beware ebay sellers using the term 'Full sets'. Minimate sellers try the same trick & it's a practise that sucks. I guess most of us realise that Kubricks often have Secret Chase items & these 'Full sets' that are offered invariably do not include these Secrets. That may not be a problem to you but beware of it. Always try & get the 'blind-boxes' they are packaged in as well, these are considered by many to be 'part of the collection' ....... .....here endeth the sermon!
  13. Wait until you see his tactical teams hit the ground. Hope your security defenses are up to snuff. I have deployed my entire army of Free Comic Book Day 'Mates .......that is some army, what they may lack in looks, equipment & colour (& rarity) they make it up with numbers
  14. Maschinen Krieger (MK) is a genre & there are many variations ,styles ,kits & models to choose from. Kubricks did 3 series' of 6 different types which I shall leave for discussion in the Kubricks thread because they will definitely be discussed ! Find out more ,for yourselves ,about MK from the many sites that are dedicated to it on the Internet . What I specifically want to bring to people's attention are the various types that are available from the Japanese company Yellow Submarine which are 1/35 scale & very compatible with 'mates. These are not articulate in the conventional sense but that doesn't detract from them generally. I'm not too good at reviews so I'll let these pictures do the talking* I must emphasise that it is worth the effort to do a little 'Maschinen Krieger' research first . It's fascinating . *these are not my own pictures
  15. Sadly I would... you are one hardcore toy collector... I suspect you had to build a special Barn just for all the toys you collect. T. Bloody Hell.... you've got satellite technology as well!
  16. PALz never really took themselves too seriously which is a good trait. Anybody who likes block figures must own the Buffy Halloween Box Set especially as they always seem to be cheap these days. Strangely Buffy is my least favourite PALz line.
  17. Afraid so (kind'a old news), but I'll never turn down an opportunity to talk about these fantastic mates! We're just waiting (on pins-n-needles...hopefully FoD does as well as the the first offering.) for the pre-orders to appear. I know that I will be personally getting at least two sets; one to add to my Leone collection, and one to customize my Lone Ranger and Brain (Escape From NewYork) minimates (pic.s to follow if Rocky III happens;) ). As "left-field and obscure" as this license is, it's still the most original and refreshing line to come out of the Minimates corral in my personal opinion. As "dead-on" as these 'mates are, I just wish that they'd generate enough demand to warrant a few exclusives ( "Sombrero-Tuco" and "sun-stroked" Blondie come to mind among others...c'mon, F'n "Marty McFly" has a fanbase, why can't some real bad-asses get some respect?!? Am I completely alone here?!?) I can't wait!!! * If you're collecting these (or on the fence), you owe it to the craft to at least watch a film or two (brach-out from the "here-n-now" for Crissakes!). They're shown all the time on cable (and how hard is it to simply rent one of these Westen classics?). These films are important, not just for their cinematic-break-throughs, but for their added realism and advancement of the Western genre. "R-E-S-P-E-C-T". I was applauding every aspect of what you were saying there until you got to the bit about 'realism' ,weren't these 'Spaghetti Westerns ' dubbed Italian actors filmed in Spain. 'Buono,Il Brutto, il Cattivo' Clint,Lee & Eli.
  18. Which of your souls for which version????
  19. Hey Chuck, I really appreciate the proposed Invaders box-set,great idea . Here's a picture of the cover of Invaders#1 entitled Battle over Britain....... .....it's beginning again! Britain is a little place where Minimates used to be sold . When we existed here,we were an all-inclusive society especially the Minimates fans. British (of Britain)Minimates fans regularly purchased Norse Gods,Latverians,Atlanteans,Russians,Red Indians,Cylons,German X-Men,Kree,Skrulls,Jews,Japanese,Chinese,Vulcans,Scots(I passed on those ),Canadians,Greek assassins,Kryptonites,etc.etc.etc. .......& many, many, many American heroes in Minimate guise. I know you may not have heard of Britain but you see, I am British , I collect Minimates & I would like to have a Captain Britain Minimate which can pose next to that other British icon(?) Madonna. We all love her here . Thanks for your time. Do you know any.... real-life pople ...like a pack with scraps ....& accersries ...like your self?
  20. I can see that there is an 'in' joke here.....but can ol' gramps come aboard?
  21. Bear in mind that this advice comes from someone who hoarded the 'sure-fire future collectible' VHS X-Files Box sets I would hang on to what you've got because it can't be long now before the collection is 'enhanced' again in High Definition Blu-Ray form.
  22. Almond? Pecan? Coconut? Considers making a joke about the size of BHM's Nuts then thinks better of it! T. An SAS Truck load of nuts
