  1. I'm not sure I've seen the Cap version on any lists, but I may have missed him.
  2. Poll might still go up today, but some last minute tweaks may affect that. I think one of the Marvel.com team is West Coast, so there's hope. A few disclaimers: Old West Ghost Rider is not as recognizable as movie star Ghost Rider. I'd love to see a Minimate of him, but for this poll we only looked at flamey heads. And Commander Rogers is not Captain America. Not that you could tell by looking at him, at least. BUT that doesn't mean he's not in a poll.
  3. This particular fan poll is gonna work exactly like last year's Heralds of Galactus fan poll. No mystery there.
  4. You want us to polybag a comic book... with a Minimate? For Reference... Thundercats Magazine I don't know how they publish a glossy (?) full-color magazine with a packaged (!) Sword of Omens for under five bucks -- can't imagine what kind of numbers Panini publishes of it -- but that's certainly impressive. I'll pass along the suggestion. A comic book plus a sculpted and painted Minimate would probably cost six or seven bucks at least, though. Even if it was a squat, flat, misshapen Minimate like that Sword of Omens. The incentive cover is an old comic book industry staple, that's why we went this route.
  5. Wishlist all you like. Now that this wave is out, I'm only coming back if we get reports of packs where Cap was switched with Thor, or a bunch of Black Widows shipped with Tony Stark's face. Didn't know/remember that the U-Foes were in EMH. Hrm. And now I want to see a Bi-Beast head...
  6. Define Hulk-related character -- a lot of his most famous friends and opponents connect to other Marvel areas, as well, and th ones that are SOLELY his... TTF is right, they're insanely obscure. But I'm currently reading the Hulk: Pardoned collection, and not only does he fight the Abomination, he teams up with Sasquatch to fight the Wendigo, he fights the U-Foes solo, he even visits Rocket Raccoon's planet. It's an amazing series of guest-stars, and while some are obscure (the U-Foes have been my fave since I learned about them in the Handbook, but they are not crossover characters), some are big enough that I think we'll get to them sooner rather than later. And my favorite obscure guys so far have been the three guys who hunt him down at the start of the storyline to enlist his aid: The Hulk Hunters! http://marvel.com/universe/Hulk-Hunters
  7. So instead, every couple of pages someone will wander in here asking what the theme of the poll set is, because the facts of the matter will be 20 pages back and NOBODY reads every page in these massive threads. OR they will get all excited that, based on the current page's raging debate, the theme is apparently Former Great Lakes Avengers. (Cue rampant speculation as to why I randomly chose that team name out of all the team names I could have chosen.) Yes, because there is nothing else to talk about. May I suggest the Series 49 thread? I hear it's a hotbed of activity, considering it's about a line that doesn't exist yet.
  8. The poll theme has been chosen. The poll will be revealed in mid-June on toysrus.com. Six characters have been designed. You will pick four. Everything else is... Eternal Wishlist.
  9. FYI, the comic is a strong PG-13. A vulture gets a knife to the head in the first issue. Not sure how old the kids at your camp are, Jeff. And if this gets retailers to have extra copies in their store, that's good for us. Most would order 5-10, sell those out, and not re-order more. If 25 people have a chance to pick up the issue in a shop, then that's 25 people learning about our toys. And that's sales a retailer can see, and will use as a basis for their next comic (and toy) order. Luke, if you're selling 400 comic books at cost (or close to it), you are definitely a saint. Saint Luke, patron saint of Minimates. You want us to polybag a comic book... with a Minimate?
  10. I don't believe they've assigned booth numbers yet, but I will check. And I don't think we'll be limiting people. We don't want to bring any home. here is me talking out my butt but any chance of maybe setting out some proto's for sale also? I found out about the joy of these things two days ago and searched till my eyes bled to get all the old stuff that came out.. needless to say.. 2 down 2 to go but.. would be nice if I could snag some of it off you gents there Protos? Do you mean promos? No, we won't be selling promos. They were promos. We gave them all out. If we held some back and started selling them, that would be bad. We keep trying, Bob.
  11. Okay, that's two votes for four-packs that are half rehashes, half Wrecking Crew. This is getting scary. Hopefully these sets lead DS to order more Minimates.
  12. Aaaaaaaand it's a wishlist thread again. Sigh. X-51 is not in the poll. Good variant idea, though.
  13. They're removable, but heads are grey. No reference at the time.
  14. It will be in a different box... He'll be blind boxed... That's awesome. Yeah, it will be the same as 43. Last TRU/LCS shared figure for the foreseeable future. Historic occasion. Buy multiples.
  15. Yup, they went to Toys R Us. They may have sold out, but they made it there. My local TRU sold out of Avengers Mates in the first week. How off-center is the star? And welcome to the board posting on the board!
  16. Not sure when 13 will hit. LCS Spidey Movie figures hit pretty soon, so TRU set might come soon, as well. Not sure how that will affect 13. There IS a Spidey in it...
  17. Well, I thought about what fans would want for Series 50, and I realized they'd want to pick the line-up. This may not be the perfect, most democratic method, but I think it ensures a certain amount of coolness and a certain amount of craziness. And I did NOT put anybody in the poll who we were definitely doing. If anything, this poll has temporarily taken some of your top choices off the table until the polling is finished. Once the polls are over, we will look at the runners-up and see if they make sense for future waves. I don't THINK there are any glaring omissions -- to be honest, not many of the top choices on that list were in the works -- but I'm sure you'll all guess at possibilities once Poll #2, 3 and 4 run. (Poll #1 reveals nothing except that there ARE still cool and interesting versions of A-listers to be made.)
  18. But does anyone else? If Spider-Man was in the Wrecking Crew, we'd have made it years ago. I hope we'll do it someday, but not as a TRU exclusive. Maybe at a con. We'll see how this year's sets do. I think so. I could certainly build an argument that they're wanted more than the Age of X or Mutants vs Vampires sets or the MvC variants from last year's con (granted, I realize there are budget restrictions that have to be followed in that case). Just hope it gets done at some point, no matter how it gets released. If you want to argue that they're wanted more than Age of X and Curse of the Mutants, go right ahead. Those were comic-shop sets, and they were hurt by distance from what eventually proved to be less-than-timeless source material. (Hindsight is 20/20.) This poll is for a Toys R Us set, and I don't think the casual TRU buyer has any idea who the Wrecker and his three goons are. The Galactus set had Galactus. The Cap set had Cap. Those are anchor characters that can attract a casual buyer. Plus, this is a poll set, which means the poll would include the Wrecking Crew and two other guys. Heroes would make the most sense, which would mean, by toysrus.com voting logic, we'd end up getting the two heroes and two members of the Wrecking Crew in the set. A good start, I suppose, but even if we did get to the unmade figures, I don't feel too confident about the sell-through on the Bulldozer and Piledriver two-pack. Maybe split them into two two-packs? With Thor and Spidey? Anyway, this is all hypothetical until next year, because this year's poll set is not The Wrecking Crew-themed. I think it would be good for a con, but I think this year's con sets will be the real test.
  19. That must be an error. Has that system ever been wrong before? I don't believe that set would be sold into TRU anywhere.
  20. Yup, you guys kept saying, "Make more Avengers product to tie in to the Avengers movie!" But we wouldn't listen. We have learned our lesson. THe movie Hawkeye had a spacer, as well, but it was mysteriously removed right before production. Robert was not too happy about that.
  21. THe Purifiers? I love that movie! No talk of a two-army system, but we'll see what the poll results look like.
  22. Airwalker and Firelord are coming, and we will NOT be putting them in new polls and making people vote on them again. We may find out more about them at SDCC, not sure.
  23. This year. But does anyone else? If Spider-Man was in the Wrecking Crew, we'd have made it years ago. I hope we'll do it someday, but not as a TRU exclusive. Maybe at a con. We'll see how this year's sets do. There are no army builders in the TRU box set poll. I think you want the other thread.
  24. I don't believe they've assigned booth numbers yet, but I will check. And I don't think we'll be limiting people. We don't want to bring any home.
