Zik comes with Vorin, and Vorin comes with that cape, so I just switched them around for a photo shoot. We're really going to be playing up the interchangability of Minimates with this line. My Vorin currently has four arms and wings. Kinda neat.

We already solicited the sequel sets. Toll Road and Ying Yang are coming pretty soon, along with Jensen.

One year and you're on the last straw already? Ouch. Look, any superhero toy line is going to rely on the A-listers to carry the line. Marvel Legends, Marvel Universe, DC Universe Classics... Very rarely do they put out a wave with no Batman or Iron Man or Superman or Wolverine, and when they do it doesn't always go so well. People laugh when I say that kids buy Minimates, but kids and casual Marvel fans ARE out there, and they buy all of our Spideys at every convention. I can't stop the completists from buying every Mate we make, but if you're only one year in, Red Raptor, I assume you have the luxury of picking and choosing. So you're in a good position, relatively. And I know people are frustrated that there are a ton of figures they want on this poll and the previous one, but I picked these characters to give each and every one of them a shot at DEFINITELY getting made, BECAUSE I knew you all wanted them. That said, the Marvel Universe is HUGE, and there are plenty of characters coming up that are not on these polls, but that you either ALSO want or that you never knew you wanted. The AFX set, the TRU poll set, Series 48 and 15... we're working on a couple of box sets that will make you very happy. So don't get mad that this series will have ONE ridiculous Cap variant and ONE oft-requested Hulk in it. (Names chosen at random.) Next poll might be easier for you guys, since most of you want us to re-issue older army builders, and we wanted this one to be all new guys. So Robert and I came up with some cool options. We'll see if you like them.

Man, this poll is causing a lot of division. But listen -- yes, we have no plans (at the moment) for any of these guys. Yes, we are going to look at how the other characters do as a mark of how soon they should get made down the road. If you think someone is going to do just fine with other voters, then that's your call not to vote for him. But if you want him to get made... you should vote for him. In a perfect world, the third-place winner will get made before eighth place. Just my two cents.

I've been meaning to shoot my gift from youbastards -- a custom grey Black Widow -- for a while now, and it took him sending me another present -- SPYMASTER! -- to make me finally do it. Nothing fancy. I tried some mid-air cartwheels with Widow but nothing worked. I'm a sucker for dramatic spotlights.

I never said anyone should get rid of old Minimates once re-issues come out, only that the re-issues are usually significantly different, so that both versions can be appreciated, even if you prefer one over the other. I love old Minimates, and keep them even when newer, more detailed versions com out. Did the same with Legends. But if new collectors AND old collectors both want new versions of old characters, and we're not concerned about maintaining value, then it seems like an arbitrary decision not to make new ones. And if the word "unlikely" was used in conjunction with the rule of four-packs, then that is not a rule. It is a theory.

The pack comes off of the sample I have -- it fits via a peg into a hole in the poncho -- but I'll find out tomorrow if that's changing. Don't know that it would. Speaking of ponchos, here's her without it: She doesn't come with a phoenix base, but I'm sure everybody has one.

We definitely don't re-release variants. But then, we don't do straight re-releases of anything. Not sure if that's a loophole or cheating or just really awesome. If you count making a much better/slightly different version as a re-release... well, that's a problem. Is collection value a concern for people here? Like, our making a better Jewel or Nitro is gonna make the original Jewel or Nitro worth less? I see more concerns over Minimates being hard to find than having their rarity threatened.

Let Customer Service know about ol' Garthe. And not sure what the story is with SPM, but the regular one was delayed slightly so we could paint the voice box on the dash. So hopefully later this month/early next.
