I am not hopeful at this point. AFX pulled Wave 2 from their system. You can't even pre-order them anymore. But they still have Wave 3 LOTR. Man, if we have a better chance of getting Wave 3 LOTR this can't be good news. AA lost the license to even make Wave 3 LOTR. EDIT: I stand corrected. You need to go to the STREET FIGHTER portion of the order screen. The SF2 Minimates are linked from there.

I'm feeling grumpy and pessimistic this morning. Too much has been announced without ever coming to life. Wasn't Batman Begins a possibility at one point? I think X-Men 3 is this year's Batman Begins. (Ok, the comments on the SF2 wave 2 really bummed me out. Especially since I paid for a case of them in pre-order back in March.)

One word: Darkstalkers. The first wave should have rocked the house with the most popular Street Fighter 2 characters. Darkstalkers are clearly NOT popular characters. Note how they are not included in the new upcoming TRU 4-packs. (I'd never even heard of them before this release). I don't understand this, but DST always seems to want to "hold back" with Minimate character selection. Wave 1 should have had Ken, Ryu, Bison, Chun-li, Blanka, and Guile. Frankly, I also think Chuck should not be so forth coming and honest about how new lines are doing. If collectors think a line is in danger they stop buying the line. Who wants a stupid player 2 variant of Lilith if the line is going to be cancelled? I think a lot of collectors who were on the fence about collecting this line will say, "Gee, I'm glad I didn't jump onto that sinking ship!" I wish DST would consider dropping Darkstalkers before they dropped SF2. Then they could add E.Honda, Sagat, and Dahlsim to the Wave 2 line-up.

These are such a great idea. Doubt I'll find a version of my profession for awhile ...

I will never divulge my sources but a source said "politics." I asked if that meant company vs. company politics (ya know, like DST vs. DCD) but the official alluded to real politics. China is a notoriously red-tape bound beauracratic system, although they are also known to be very pro-business. This is purely speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if the factory move etc. wasn't complicated by the local Chinese governement. AA, DST and DCD don't have the muscle like Mattel and Hasbro. Of course if this is true, no sane company would ever admit it. But I can only imagine the byzantine licensing procedures needed to manufacture in China. My money is on the fact that it's out of AA's hands.

This is an off-topic question, but how do you know that MisterPL? I always assumed Digger lived in China and coordinated production.

Just to clarify for me, what you guys are requesting is that we please don't go to the AA forum and post links to MMMV with comments like "it was here at the Multiverse first" and "the info is better here (at MMMV)" and so on. You are asking this because you don't want community members to have arguments over which forum is better, etc. That makes sense to me because it really doesn't make sense for 'battle lines' to be drawn up. But it is ok for members to take info from the AA forum and repost here, correct? Like posting the pic of the new X-Men box set Minimates uploaded by Neo today. Minimate Multiverse is simply more robust and suits my tastes better than the AA forum. But I know some members will enjoy reading both forums. I just hope discussions happen here about what's happening at the AA forum. It would save me from having to follow two sites.
