  1. I only go to the org when I want my hopes crushed or to mega-rage at the idiocy and negativity of other collector boards out there. The .org people are so negative, trolling and debbie downers, that i avoid them unless I'm checking for immediate news (at which point I ignore any comments). itsalltrue has an amazing visual guide with links to reviews on released figures. The Fwoosh "first looks" and photo reviews by Matt always have photos that keep me pretty excited. Poe Ghostal has reviews that I find really break down how the figure works, though when last I checked his archive was no longer searchable so i put the character name and poe ghostal review into a google search.
  2. there's a retailer exclusive that was added at the last minute (and sold) that had 200 "random" character mates, but listed all of the ten. I imagine those won't be loose. Also, do we know that kickstarter was the only way the mates will be released? anyone know what the stipulations to the one-of-a-kind mates are? is it a basic minimate (old school) or will you be sculpted girl squirrel ears and tail, or a bandana, special hairpiece, he-man like sword.. er any special sculpt designs?
  3. The lady mentioned she only had one guy who ever bought them! Too funny.
  4. That comic book shop in ebensburg was just opening when i was moving away. It is a small world. A few weeks ago i was at a horror movie convention in Louisville, KY (which is where i now reside) i was waiting in line for an autograph and started talking with the guy behind me in line. He owns a comic book shop in the west end in johnstown..bent wookie comics i think was the name.. Anywho..no mvc3 in Louisville yet. He doesn't carry many mates either. I called him before i made the trip, and he was packing up for the Pittsburgh comic con. Nothing yet in Maryland for MvC3 either. Maybe tomorrow.
  5. I really only want He-man and She-ra cartoon and vinatge characters. I don't care for new characters from 200X, New Adventures, 30th Anniversary designs, concept figures or mini comic figures. I'm jonesin to finish off my Horde, Snakemen and Great Rebellion teams. I really really really want to spend stupid amounts of hard earned money on a Horde Trooper Army.
  6. my family is from Summerhill and St Michael! small world. small small world. I was just in the Ebensburg comic store last weekend, and very upset that they had no minimates, the one in Windbur, however, had a few.
  7. If I'm going to drop $108 on minimates, there's a few holes in my collection I'd rather fill than pledge for 10 minimates considering my only interest in pledging would be for the mates (shiny gimmick) for a property that would end up as fodder for customs like most for the non-marvel mates that I buy. That's only my buying habit though, and there are collectors who would be enticed by completionist needs, or love for blanks, or always having wanted a digger mate, there's no interest from me to pledge, even if early access to the episodes was an option. I wish him luck, I just wanted to offer why I wasn't willing to drop $18, $38 or $108 for these mates.
  8. The price is one factor for me, but the other factor is I want to get something for my money. Any successful kickstarters that I watched soar past their goals really rewarded people for being involved, and the pledge tier rewards included lesser tier rewards with the higher ones, even when it is something a small as a website thank you. I think the mates will be awesome, and the webshow could be pretty cool, but there's no value to the rewards, just a shiny gimmick. Offer me exclusive access to the episode before it goes live. Offer me exclusive content. Offer me a code to watch it for free on my PS3 or itunes. Don't make all your rewards really wordy; it keeps me from getting confused and lost in all the shiny gimmicks. If you're going to offer minimates, offer them at a reasonable price, especially if the promos were being handed out for free at the SDCC event. I hope this goes through as I really want to buy ninjas, and any of the mates that end up going to retail, from Luke.
  9. sasquatch/heather hudson-vindicator snowbird/puck (she also came with a bird-form and a badger form) northstar/aurora warlock, magik and wolfsbane were single packed. and man were those new mutants peg-warmers. Everytime I went to KB there were loads of them. even with the running change of magik's silver or red armor.
  10. the neck nubs are like that too, I really noticed it on Marina in the AF pack.
  11. Yeah, toybiz had the luck with spring loaded gymnastic toys. I remember in '94 when beast was postponed because of his shoddy spring-loaded jumping feature.
  12. anybody know what the hole in the back of hope's jetpack is for?
  13. I liked that we got a full figure and an accessory figure in those packs. With the toyfare vindicator we had a full team. Definitely one of the best toybiz waves.
  14. the head is a darker tone than the tampo and the tampo lighter than the arm paint.
  15. I've been webbed.. er.. grannyhog'd! well on a different, more topic related note, X-23's head flesh color is a different tone than her body flesh color. Currently trying to find a suitable replacement. back to my smelly chun-li... Doom has new toy smell, and the others have a strange different reek to them. Chun-li being the worst offender.
  16. my chun-li smells terrible! anyone else have a smelly chun-li?
  17. agreed. a lot of fun that one. I bought the festival of blood add-on but never finished it.
