One of the fun things (for me at least) is getting used to the time differences... its one thing to have such different time zones on here, but realizing it when you're actually talking live is a fun thing to get used to...

I want to be a fan, but unfortunately my schedule doesnt usually allow me to watch the show. I plan on eventually picking up all of the DVD sets, but that won't be for a while (stinkin bills... and minimates). So all of this talk about how the waves are unbalanced, and how the choices for characters is odd... yeah, I'm totally lost on all of that. But for now, I am definitely planning on picking up all the BSG minis. They look cool, plus Im sure I will want them once I actually get a chance to see the show. That, and the fact that I pick up every minimate I can get, regardless of license... for the most part.

The Good: The Comic Cover contest. It was something that nearly everyone got something out of, regardless of winning or losing (or even participating). It was just so much fun to be a part of it, and to see the enormous amount of talent that was put on display for that one event. The Bad: I'm not one for complaining (much), but it seems like a lot of people here kinda enjoy it from time to time. Unfortunately, reading through all of the posts showed me quite a bit of hard feelings and harsh words towards AA for the numerous delays and lack of QC that has become a common offering from them. The Ugly: Reideen's avatar. It gives me nightmares *edit - im not pointing fingers or looking down on anyone with my comment about complaining. just to let you know... im not trying to start anything... *innocent smile*

It wouldn't be CornerStoreComics if your credit card was charged when you pre-ordered. CSC won't charge credit cards until they get the shipment in. The only way they will charge at the time of pre-order is if you use PayPal. And no, I don't think there is a way to check via their website. I went back and checked my email verification that they sent me, and all I could find was an order number that I would have to use when either calling them or emailing them. There's no online tracking that I can find...

That was the thing that always made me feel like it was awkward... has anyone ever seen that episode of Fraiser where Niles was talking with Daphnie about naming thier kid, and Niles went on this rant about the first name ending in the same sound as the beginning of the last name. He made the comment that people would either say it as one solid name that flowed together, or there would be that awkward pause to differentiate the two names... "Minimatesentral" or "Minimates (awkward pause) Central" Heh. I'm just playing, Danny. I couldn't resist Well, if that's all it was, then I wouldn't have gone ahead and reserved the new name. But I did it for two reasons - I never thought of it very seriously before. I always just assumed that everyone else would see it that way (blind assumption). But after you brought it up, I realized that there may be people out there who would be thinking 'it should have an 's'..." So I added that domain name for the people who may just naturally assume the opposite of what I assume(d). Plus, I felt bad that you were alone

I decided to go with singular instead of plural because, as Ady said, it has a nicer flow. Minimates Adventures seems too odd to me. And honestly, Minimates Central seems odd to me as well. Don't get me wrong - I know that there should be an 's' at the end, and technically you are correct, Danny. I don't know. I didn't put a huge amount of thought into it. It just never seemed like something I needed to deliberate over. Singular always made more sense to me. Plus, if I went with plural, I would have had to decide if I wanted to keep it at just Minimates Adventures, or Minimates' Adventures, or Minimates' Adventure, or The Adventures of the Minimates, or Minimates Go To Grammar School.

My tentative plan is to update every friday with one new issue, and possibly some extras here and there. Like I said... it's tentative. I have everything all planned out, but you never know when something big is going to come up. But I have next week's issue just about ready, so I am at least on track for one week

Theories abound... I havent done all my homework, so I could be way off base with this, but: I wonder if maybe DCD saw what was happening with quality control with other minis, and began to see that happening with the new DC mates. And, being a more quality-conscious company, took steps to ensure that their products would maintain a high QC, which, of course, set the production back. That would be nice. I wonder if that's what actually happened...

Marvel should take some notes...
