  1. If your friends don't expect to see you playing with toys at the restaurant, they aren't your friends.
  2. War Zone is mindless killing, not true Punishment, which is what made the Jane movie so great.
  3. All I've heard complaint of/seen evidence of is the symbol, and it seems fairly universal.
  4. Guys... BE CAREFUL. The emblem rubs off Lion-O's belt SUPER EASY!
  5. I really didn't mean to sound snippy... I was just shocked. Here's the thing re: Talisman - I'm a casual Alpha Flighter. If you told me to name ten members, I'd say: Puck, Guardian, Sasquatch, Vindicator, Shaman, Snowbird, Aurora, Northstar... Wolverine and... the chick with the needle? I only know who Box is through his recent appearances in X-Men and I don't assume he's an iconic member of the team. The fish girl, again, I've seen, but don't immediately have any clue who she is or why she's here. My first thought is: wasn't she a New Warrior? (I know that was Namorita, but it's still the first person I thought of...) And yet, still, I'd put Marinna and Box in these packs WELL before I could even tell you who or what Talisman is. PS - the chick with the needle was from Alpha Flight... 100... I think? Her and Smart Alec and St. Elmo and a few others formed the Alpha Flight team that was trained by Wolverine and that fought Egghead and Porcupine (among others) in what was thankfully the only comic book I ever read that featured any of those characters.
  6. I'm always surprised/confused when a regular comes 7 pages deep into a thread and has so completely missed something that's that out there.
  7. And I, for one, think Onslaught paired with Sngbird makes sense, as he paved the way for the T-Bolts
  8. Man... Wave 50 ended up being LARGELY disappointing to me. Songbird and Ketch I WANT, Onslaught I'll get (and, of course, whoever he comes with). Everyone else? Meh. Let's see - Zemo is with Nova Corps, so I can skip both of those packs. That means Songbird COULD be with Onslaught, in which case I might skip Ketch (unless her miraculously has a cycle). This pairing would make seen, as Onslaught made the T-Bolts possible. Ultimately very disappointed with the results, but it's all good. I hope the wave does well, and I hope my choices end up made somewhere along the way.
  9. I'm pfficially more excited for Mumm-Ra the Ever Living than any other single toy. Ever. And yet, HE'LL COME WITH THREE OER TOYS!!!! To quote Ronnie: "Da, one of" and the Ben bust is another. Brilliantly done. I didn't care a lick about this wave, now I'm in! Exactly! Hmmm,....
  10. Uni! Also, the guy with the sugar cubes MAY be Zach's son from the future. Did you SEE those chops?
  11. Wow... That'd be pretty brilliant. I still want this line to go on and include the Lunataks and Hammerhand's pirates, buuuuuut... If all of the main characters are out, that seems less than likely.
  12. Actually, Tony's tweaking the suit for a possible second go. Plus, y'know, Bleeding Edge inside for anone who missed it.
  13. More t-cats! New Mr. fantastic! Wanda, Iron Man, AND protector! JOY!
  14. But not in the instances above, is his point. That's not even a typo, it's failing at the English language. And honestly, I don't imagine there are very many instances where "of" would immediately follow EITHER "would" or "could" "I got what I could of the exclusives at the con, but some were already sold out." That's about the only thing that comes to mind, and that's still a pretty sloppy sentence.
  15. Zach, it would be a cool way to do the reveals on here if you could sort of American Idol it for us; start with the lowest vote getter in each category and "eliminate" them so that the actual reveal coincides with the official announcement.
  16. As a TRU employee, I have some thoughts. Firsty, TMNT is the best choice to go with here. Tons of collector aged fans with a lot of kids still into it. Big name appeal for the likes of Toys R Us. Wide character base to draw from. Vehicles and playsets would be a must though. Consider this: What is the longevity of a property like Squinkies or BattlePods? You get an inexpensive design and a bunch of licenses, you flood the market for about three years (first year of release no one can find the product, second it's over-stocked and readily available, third it's on clearance) and then you disappear. MAYBE, if you made it past three years, there was enough demand to revive the idea after a couple of years hiatus. Probably not. Minimates have staying power. The kind of marketing that makes these other products popular in the short term would not pay off for Minimates. They sell a modest number of units per wave over numerous wave for years on end. It's a better business model. This COULD work. There are a lot of Disney fanatics out there who'd collect these. They'd probably sell better to kids if there were playsets, though, and if Disney wants to make block figures with playsets, Lego DOES seem like the more obvious avenue. This, though? Friggin genius! WWE collectors will buy almost ANYTHING, and there's a shit-ton of them out there. Kids LOVE the WWE, and a few simple playsets would be great! The interchangeable pieces could even be marketed as "Create-A-Wrestler" or something, with maybe a few spare pieces in each box for customization, letting kids design their own WWE superstars and giving Minimates collectors added incentive to buy in. I like it! Make it so!
  17. Snowman and Snowmeow, Hatchiman, Mandora, the Berserkers, the Lunattacks, the Bearbils, Captain Shiner... Exactly!
  18. I hope if the next set includes Mumm-Ra the Ever Living that it will have Ma-Mutt as well. Then, if we get further sets, some Berbils would be cool pack ins, OR a Snarf balancing on his tail would be great, too.
  19. Yes, but still no noses. When I say this, I want to preface it by pointing out that I have 1000+ Minimates in my collection. These are easily the best looking Minimates to date. Somehow, it's as if ThunderCats should have been Minimates all along. They perfectly capture every part of the charaters so far and I have to say I'm floored. Should be no surprise I agree entirely. This pairing is perfection. I will say, though, that I'm glad DST waited on this property. Much sooner and I fear it may not have lived up to its potential. Personally I believe Minimates have reached the pinnacle of what they are/should be. Maybe DST will prove me wrong and find a way to make them even better, but I think right now they're pretty near perfect. These are also, IMHO, the best damned representations of the ThunderCats ever. Zach, and everyone, thank you!
