You should definitely read AOA, it's one of the best crossovers ever!! Thanks for the new pics Ivan. Yours are much better and more focused than the shots from marvelousnews. i sure hope so, but i hope that they dont make another wave thats different from TRU or the LCS waves. however if they simply carried boxsets, i'd be okkay with that. this years con sounds amazing however i have no intention on missing next years, but that new deadpool looks fantastic. The new Wolvie mask is a little unappealing. I haven't read AoA yet, but the mates like pretty nice.

OMG lol. That thing is so creepy it's going to give me nightmares. It's like a What-If Thing bred with a Giraffe. gah. Not a big fan of Fantastic Four, but I'm definitely looking forward to Lizard and Professor X. Oh and probably Spiderman too, but not sure on the look of the "harness". That's about it for this wave. See... Thats a Wolvie I wouldn't mind buying. Or they could have done a good Weapon X Wolvie. Was Morph a real character? I thought he was just from the Cartoon. I know he showed up in AoA but I didnt think he was from the comic originally. Morph as he was in the cartoon never really existed in the comics. The character who who was named Morph in AOA and was later part of the Exiles is an alternate version of an X-Men baddie named Changeling.

If it is because of the Iron Man 2 minimates that the others have to suffer, I'd rather not have Marvel movie minimates as aside from a few of the Iron Man mates, I've avoided the movie related stuff whenever released. I'm sure there's reasoning behind them, more money maybe being given by the higher ups to make these or something, but really... I actually was liking the insane amounts of stuff we were getting in Marvel Minimates with details. I look back on the older minimates and just think they look too plain now... Comparing Ultimate Wolverine to one of the more modern ones for example, or the first yellow costume Wolvy to the most recent made one... I know there's the arguement of having less detailing versus having all sorts, but to me, less detailing makes them almost just pumped up LEGOs. I like that Cable has his huge shoulderpads or Deadpool comes with a ton of weapons, and even the way more detailed hairpieces being given to the characters now. It makes these things look way more awesome and 'pop' more to the eye unlike something like Mighty Muggs or Mez-its...or worse Blammoids... Just guessing, we'll never know for sure. I agree with you, I usually avoid movie waves since they tend to be more clogged with boring and civilian looking minimates. Ideally though every wave should have an equal amount of budget and care put into them. Realistically it's not that way, and I'm a bigger X-Men fan than Iron Man fan, so I guess you can tell where I'd want more attention to go into. haha

I'm excited to complete the rest of the 90s X-Men. I like your theory. Another possibility is that they put all their "unique" parts budget into Iron Man 2 stuff and so everything else suffers and have to be cheapened like Jubilee's glasses or Bishop's scarf...or the details on Captain Britain, the lack of quality control on the Spider-Man Friends and Foes, etc etc. It looks like certain waves like the Iron Man 2 stuff get more attention and $$$ then everything else, which is a shame.

Ultimate Jean Grey. She was my first minimate ever.

I don't know, tenime. boxes like Infinity Gauntlet, Defenders, and Champions were pretty unique-heavy. God, I hope so... I'd want BOTH but if there can only be ONE, I'd rather have the heavy hitters in Weapon X, Jean Grey, and Apocalypse. Ugh. Screw that. I already have my definitive versions of those three characters. And, I can't be the only one, either. I'm opposite. I love my core characters. And I understand that remaking characters like Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Hulk, etc can help make some of the lesser known characters that would sell less.

I know they may not be as expensive as say statues or busts, but they are still considered expensive for 5 inches of plastic compared to other toy lines. I'm not asking for perfection. None of my minimates are perfect. Basic quality control like the c3 feet actually fitting pegs is however something that is expected. If it's included with the product it should at least work imho.

You need Ofelia though! That's like having a Wizard of Oz set and leaving out Dorthy (not the most visually striking or interesting sure, but she holds the movie together!) I would want it like this: 4-Pack: -Ofelia (with 'pet' mandrake root 'brother' and hand-holding-chalk accessory) -the Faun (with 3 'pet' faeries, his circular case, key, and 'doug jones expressive hand poses' hand accessories) -The Pale Man (with "open hands" and a set of normal hands with "eyes on plate" accessory -the Frog (built like a TerrorDog!) companion 2-Pack: -Captain Vidal (with either two heads or a reversible head for end of movie spoiler purposes. also a wine bottle to horrify everyone) -Mercedes (with knives) ... and of course we'd need Hellboy 2 minimates to go with them I couldn't figure out where to fit her in, but yeah ideally I'd want her and a knight wielding Mercedes too. lol

The warped feet on my First Appearance X-Men can be a mold issue or a plastic issue. Also they are taking short cuts that make for a worse minimate overall. Some recent examples include the change on the facial detailing of Captain Britain or the lack of detailing on the 90s Jean Grey's legs and her solid blue torso piece. Don't forget about the Spider-Man Friends and Foes boxset. And also the lack of quality control on Dark Avengers Venom (symbol has six legs) and Spider-Girl (back boobs). And Angelgate. That's right, thanks for reminding me. It's not like these are cheap. For 6-9 bucks for a pack of 2, there should be less cost cutting and more care that go into them.

Anyone out there have minimates parts that are warped? I'm not sure if this is the case with all of them, but my First Appearance X-Men won't fit on any of the lego parts/pieces that they are supposed to be able to stand on. It's really frustrating. Also has the plastic quality dipped or is it just me? The older minimates are firmer/harder while these newer minimates aren't as smooth and feel softer. I don't know how to explain it, but I prefer the feel of the plastic on the older mates.

Don't tease!!! I want an AOA Weapon X, AOA Jean Grey, AOA Blink and AOA Apocalyspe. With a second box set containing AOA Sunfire, AOA Magneto, AOA Rogue, and AOA Cyclops. Those would be awesome sets.

I'm pretty sure as long as DST can keep the license, the line will continue. There's so many characters and variations of characters out there that we will get eventually, as long as the collectors can accept knowing there will always need to be reissues for main characters in order to get more obscure ones. I'll happily pick up the 75th variation of Wolvie/Spidey it it means I may some day see a Alpha Flight set, Shang-Chi, or Man-Thing. I'm excited for Spider-Man, Lizard, and Professor X. Could care less about Warpath, Thing and Doombot so this wave is about half n half for me.

Wow....nice pics. But really disappointed that Black Queen didn't get a phoenix base. C'mon Jean's the original Phoenix! Also really annoyed that they cheaped out with the details on 90s Jean Grey. That was the one I was looking forward to the most. Anyways, anyone out there who's building an army of Sentinels, I'll gladly buy all the extra phoenix bases off of you.

Went to go order but hesitated because of the ridiculous shipping. AFX is even worse. I want some phoenix stands, but I don't want to buy the whole pack just to get one part. I hate Rachel...

Cool Mohawk Storm!!

I was looking at the newly released pics and caught something that bothers me. In the promo shots the black mark by their neck works because it's supposed to represent the black/blue underneath where their neck sticks thru. The official ones have Cyclops and Angel looking right, but both Jean and Beast have a yellow line across their collars, making it look like they're just floating shirts. There's a disconnect. Also on the X-Factor boxset, the X on on the promo goes all the way around the neck to the back, while they cheaped out and have it only pasted on in the front on the official releases. See what I mean?
