  1. Character rehashes are fine to a point - I'll be buying almost all of these sets. But I'm most excited about new characters, and the Avengers wave delivers in spades.
  2. The whole "fuzzy timeline" thing is just a part of the comic book experience. Spider-Man has been a young guy for decades now, it's just part of his character. You can't think about it too much! I haven't read a comic book in years, and I never read Captain America, but I gotta say that the manner in which the events described occur, is rather lame.
  3. Aw man, I cannot wait! I wonder when Stuckakid will start sending out their orders. I gots me a case coming my way. My Centurions are getting lonely without anyone to boss them around or shoot at!
  4. One thought I had while watching Maelstrom is that Leoben is her father. It'd be sick & gross, but it'd also be unexpected! I do think there's something more to Starbuck's destiny. We may see her again as some kind of angel type persona. I believe the original show had angels and devils (i.e. Head Six???), but I don't remember the specifics from the original.
  5. I wonder what's printed on Boomer's chest (heh heh) under her flight suit jacket piece. Do you suppose it's similar to ToyFair Starbuck?
  6. Hey Jo, You should check out hasbrotoyshop.com and click on Special Offers, there's a bunch of Transformers that have been marked down. I don't know what the shipping is like to the UK, though. Welcome! Jad
  7. Superb! I really liked the camera angle as the batmobile drives by. Your next one will be even better if you can find a way to lock down the camera.
  8. If anyone's interested, hasbrotoyshop.com has a ton of Transformers for sale, mostly Titaniums but also a few Alternators. Click on Special Offers on the main page. I just got Alternators Skids for $13 and almost the complete run of G1 (and a few G2) 3" Titaniums for $2.50 to $4 each. I just need 3" Galvatron to have the whole set!
  9. Unfortunately, it looks like the Ghost Rider isn't removable from his bike. Check this thread for pics of Spidey, GR, and Doctor Doom.
  10. Transformers: Alternators work great along with Minimates. The scale is just about perfect.
  11. I hope so. I'd buy Buffy 'mates, maybe an extra set for my fiancee, she's a big fan.
  12. Well, I've seen plenty of photos of the hatch diorama. What I really want to know is if it's easy to remove the figures from the hatch diorama, and if you do, then does it look cool with Minimates there instead? Many thanks! The second diorama is supposed to be the crash of flight 815 from the opening scene. I can't wait to see pics of it!
  13. So, is anyone collecting these? I've seen them in Toys R' Us and was very impressed, but haven't bought any. Just dont' have the extra dough or shelf space for all those characters. On the other hand, I am really interested in the Hatch diorama, as an environment for my Minimates. Does anyone know if the figures are removable? I think I read somewhere that the figures are 2" tall? That would work out great with 'mates! **Edit - I changed the title to reflect their lack of articulation! **
  14. My fiancee and I watch four shows: Lost, Veronica Mars, Battlestar Galactica, and Heroes. Of those, Heroes has been the most consistently great throughout the past year. The Stan Lee cameo was sweet, too. It's only a matter of time until we start seeing Heroes action figures, and then that will hopefully open the door on Heroes Minimates!
  15. Welcome aboard. You've picked a great time to start in on Minimates, especially Spider-Man. There's going to be a LOT of Spideys coming down the pipeline this year!
  16. I just thought of a great way for AA to get some more mileage out of the unique Kellogg's parts: ZOMBIE Kelloggs Minimates! That Tucan Sam just BEGS to be dripping blood from his ravenous beak!
  17. Welcome to the boards! You couldn't have picked a better time to discover Minimates. SO many excellent licenses coming up soon. Looking forward to seeing what you create!
  18. They should do a super-deformed Blackbird vehicle (aka "Laura") with her in a unique costume.
  19. I wish you the best of luck, Ady. There's no question about it, you're doing the right thing for yourself and the people around you! After all, you want to live a long, long time and see your great grandkids playing with Minimates, right?
  20. Yeah, good point about scale. I wouldn't want to see them done a la LOTR. In my head I saw them as being all the same 2" size. I assumed the kids would have youthful faces and colorful costumes, and the adults would have wrinkles and darker clothes, so you could tell somewhat who's a kid and who's an adult. The kids in Goonies ranged in height, too; I remember Mouth could almost look Ma Fratelli in the eye. Then again, if AA wants to whip up a 1.5" body so they can make juveniles, then I'm all for that!
  21. Well, nothing is ever really confirmed unless it's in your hand. As for being packed with a copy of the movie, I highly doubt this would happen. They are selling these to people who are already fans of the films, not necessarily people who are looking to buy their first DVD copy. I would love to see a 3x5 postcard of the minimate-style movie poster packed with each box set, and maybe even a plastic stand, so that the poster could be displayed behind the mates!
  22. Agreed: the figure opposite to the chase should be an army builder, i.e. a Cylon of some stripe. Wave 1 is perfect; Wave 3 is not too bad with an extra Helo, because a simple head swap can get you a background officer. But a second President Baltar? Maybe I can use him as Head Baltar for Caprica, or swap parts and make a random civilian.
  23. I just put in my preorder at Stuckakid for Rocky Box 1 (along with non-variant sets of Ghost Rider wave and Thor wave)!
  24. It can't be just MGM, as Back to the Future is Universal, but still if they can get more stuff from the MGM catalog, then let's see: Casino Royale & other Bonds, Sin City, UHF, Bill & Ted, Terminator, Robocop, This is Spinal Tap, Clash of the Titans, Mad Max, Soylent Green (my namesake), North By Northwest (man that would be so sweet), Ben Hur, Tarzan, Jailhouse Rock, Forbidden Planet, and The Wizard of Oz! And that's just from a brief scan of the imdb page!
