  1. Hey winkerbean, you'll probably want to edit the title post to "24 Minimates are 2"
  2. The world is all topsy-turvy! Down is up! Up is sideways! Dogs & cats, living together, mass hysteria!
  3. If you open all your other 'mates, then I say open this one. I think there are a lot of these out there; I got one off of eBay for less than 10 bucks, and I opened it. I've always felt that a toy ain't a toy unless it's played with!
  4. Fantastic! I like how the spiders on the chest and back are more aggressive on the black suit. Another note: how many copyright dates do they need on these things?
  5. Or hearing Bob Dylan, as All Along The Watchtower is originally a Dylan tune. I really don't know what to make of the song. Does this hint that they will end up in our present day Earth? Is Starbuck really alive, or was that Lee's hallucination? I can't wait until 2008!
  6. Inspired by this thread, I threw a little Jad together. It's just a Patch body, minus the tuxedo jacket piece, with Unmasked Spider Man's Peter Parker head and Ultimate Wolverine's hair piece. I'm no painter or customizer, so these parts work pretty well. I outfitted myself with Boromir's sword and Blade's belt & batarang thing. I'm happy with it, and it was all with extra parts!
  7. Yep, civilians will be easy to make through part-swapping after the next several waves hit. What I would like to see, though, is a series of Minimate historical figures. Imagine Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Churchill, Ghengis Khan, Sigmund Freud, Picasso, etc. Even modern political figures would be cool. They would be great for when our superheroes go on time traveling adventures, and AA wouldn't have to pay any license fees. And you could part-swap them into civilians, too.
  8. Nice! In honor of ol' Shats, I'm going to play his 2004 album Has Been. If you haven't heard it, it's.. it doesn't really fit into any specific genre. It's more than spoken word, yet it's not really a collection of songs, per se, there's some post-punk, some poetry, a fair dose of humor, well, I don't know how else to put this: it ROCKS. Seriously. Give it a listen if you can and give it a chance. It's unlike anything else. Also, I actually shook his hand! I was in Riverside, Iowa when he was filming the final scenes of the Invasion Iowa reality show. I sadly didn't get an autograph, but it was still a memorable night.
  9. That Sandman is absolutely amazing! How will he even fit in the package? I hope there is a regular all-sandy Minimate body buried in there, but if not, I won't be too upset. Oh yeah, let's not forget, there's also a movie to look forward to!
  10. Glad to see you're here, and I look forward to seeing what you can do with Minimates!
  11. Sadly, Stuckakid is now sold out of the Set With Variant sets for both waves 17 and 18. They sell out pretty quickly.
  12. Amazing, across the board. The Trans-Venom figure's chest piece could be done in translucent orange for a cool Human Torch figure.
  13. Got my case yesterday, and I love them dearly, with one exception: Cain's hair! It sits way too high, and on her right side, there's a noticeable gap between her shoulder and where the hair intends to lay on her shoulder. It's a shame, because I really liked the Cain figure in the promo pics. Other than that, they're fantastic across the board. Another thing I noticed on the Cylon Centurion packed with Six: it has white copyright text, while the earlier Cylons had black printing. Other than that, it looks identical to the Hands Centurion.
  14. OMG, Kill Vader was the coolest thing I've seen in a LONG time! Even though I'm the hugest Star Wars fan (check my website), I never really craved Star Wars Minimates, just because I've already bought so many SW figures in so many scales over the years. But that video, oh man, why must you taunt me, CG animation!
  15. I love 'em, even the rolled mask effect. I just wish Mary Jane wasn't the exclusive. That's such a classy looking figure, it's a crime to make her rare!
  16. I reckon this is the thread for talking about Wave 1. Well, I just put my preorder in at Stuckakid for a whole case! For some reason, these and BSG make me go overboard and buy whole frakin' cases. DAMN YOU, PLASTIC CRACK!
  17. Very glad to know this, as I'll be passing on the exclusive 2-pack. Hope all who wants one can get one!
  18. Ha, I love all those Data variants! You brought up a good point, too. I want to see as many of the non-uniform outfits as possible, such as from the many holodeck episodes, Kirk and Spock in 1930's clothes from City on the Edge of Forever, maybe the Voyage Home 1980's clothes, etc.
  19. My case has also been shipped from Stuckakid! Frak, I cannot wait!
  20. I think the 'reimagining' aspect is the BEST part of this news. Trek needs a kick in the rear, just like BSG did. A part of me really wants to see them shake things up, like make Chekov a woman or something.
  21. True, but I wonder how many would choose the wave without Thor? neo Even if they didn't do Thor, but instead gave us Speedball with a variant Speedball in civilian clothes, I'd still be most excited about this wave. More new characters!
  22. Yeah, I definitely welcome another chance to do Hulk the right way on the big screen.
  23. Definitely agree on the need for a big-chest Hulk, and the more Iron Men, the better. I'm still amazed they're doing another Hulk movie four years after the first, and it's NOT a sequel. That's gotta be a record for rebooting a franchise. I wonder if Lou Ferrigno will cameo again.
  24. Dude, if you get the chance, do yourself a favor and watch the episodes! You won't regret it. It's an incredibly well done program, and even the worst BSG episodes are better than most of the rest of television. Well, maybe not "Black Market" from Season 2, but the rest are fantastic!
  25. Yep, I'd say that's a great price, plus you didn't have to pay for shipping. Congrats!
