  1. I found these the other day in the dollar bin at Target in La Mesa, CA. (Sorry, I don't know how to post images into the post, if someone can help I'd much appreciate it!) http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc108/J...007-09-x139.jpg http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc108/J...007-09-x140.jpg I put a Rogue mini in there so you can compare the scale. Each pack was a buck - not a bad price at all. There was a sixth blister pack that had only three of those construction-type figures, so I didn't bother with that one. There was also a plastic/vinyl mat for sale that you apparently lay on the floor and put the figures & parts on, also didn't bother with that. I'm going to use the parts to flesh out my Marvel/DC urban fight scenes!
  2. Oh, snap. I'd be all over Ape mates! Except for the Tim Burton one, that was rubbish.
  3. I'm right there with you, man. I'm way behind on DC, still don't have Rocky yet, and haven't even had time to open up BSG 2, Star Trek, Avengers wave, or Spidey box! Will the madness never end? Actually, I hope not!
  4. On second viewing, I like the Sabbath better. For those who aren't familiar with the character, it will help them remember the name of the movie.
  5. I wasn't crazy about the use of the Black Sabbath song. I like BS and heavy metal music in general, but I hope this remains in the trailer only, and that the film itself has a kick-ass orchestral score. And, Robert Downey Jr. RULES.
  6. Bon giorno! I hope I spelled that right. Good to have you!
  7. Welcome aboard. So great to see all these new members!
  8. Check this out, and feel proud (or sad?) that Iron Man was the only Minimate to make the list. http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toy...4868.cfm?page=1 Whuh? A PALz made it to 97?
  9. Actually, I really wouldn't mind if you took out my neighbor's dog, and my neighbor too while you're at it. There's some terrible poop-like stuff smeared on her front door and she has never cleaned it up!
  10. I've decided to limit my Facebook friends list to people I've met in person and family. So, if I've added you recently and then removed you, please don't take offense. Nothing personal!
  11. The latest issue of DST's E-Spectrum has the BTTF 'mates listed as the TOP preorder item of the week! Also, 24 'mates come in at 6th! These are the only Minimates on the list of 10. This bodes VERY well for the future of BTTF in Minimate form!
  12. Has anyone gotten a chance to put their Trek 'mates in one of these models? I'm thinking about getting one, and one of the Galileo models too, if the scale works out well.
  13. Mine was also REALLY well protected - the piece was in a plastic bag, which was in a padded envelope, which was wrapped in bubble wrap, which was packed in a sturdy cardboard box! I'll reuse all the packing materials, but still, opening this was hilarious!
  14. Has anyone seen the Animated style toys that will be coming out along with the new cartoon series? http://tformers.com/search.php?topic=60 I'm kinda digging the look. From what I've seen so far, I like how both vehicle and robot forms maintain the animated style. Depending on the size of the toys, these might make a cool accompaniment to Minimates.
  15. All upcoming high-def releases will also be available on standard DVD, almost always released on the exact same day. I recommend thedigitalbits.com for keeping up with current & future releases. As for the Paramount HD-DVD announcement, it sure has kicked up a lot of strong opinions on the internet. I certainly don't want to get into a fight with anyone about this issue, but it is important to note that the deal stipulates that Paramount and Dreamworks will be exclusively HD-DVD for 18 months, after which they can choose to stay on HD-DVD, or switch to Blu-Ray, or support both formats. Paramount/Dreamworks received (cue Dr. Evil voice) $150 meeeelion dollars in 'promotional incentives' from Microsoft to go with HD-DVD for the next year and a half. What this announcement has done is to guarantee that this wasteful and frustrating format war will continue on for another year or longer. It's in everyone's best interests for one format to become the industry standard, and until that happens, the consumer will increasingly become wary of adopting a whole new player & discs. The next big thing after high-def discs will be high-def downloads. Some have speculated that Microsoft is intentionally keeping the format war going so that it's XBox Live download service can gain market share against iTunes, which will eventually also offer high-def downloads. Personally, I don't care which format ends up on top, as they are both excellent high-def technologies. Before this announcement, Blu-Ray looked like the clear winner of the format war, due to their discs consistently outselling HD-DVD discs. Now, I still think Blu-Ray will be the eventual winner, but it's going to be a messy and frustrating time in the HD-arena until that happens. This may even end up like the high-def audio format war (SACD vs. DVD-Audio), where neither gains much traction, and the average consumer just skips it entirely and goes for the convenience of direct download.
  16. I also canceled my first AFX order, then reordered with all the sets marked for November: Rocky & Adrian pair, Rocky 2 box, and Star Trek series 2 w/ variant. Shipping went from $9 for one pack to $10 for all four sets, which makes the shipping charge MUCH easier to swallow!
  17. I'm also on Facebook, look up Jad Bean in San Diego, CA. The more friends, the better!
  18. I'd buy 'em all, but I had to choose one, so I went with Alpha Flight, the one I remember most from my childhood. I think a Sinister Six set is a no-brainer for AA, given all the Spideys out there.
  19. I have both the Sunstar 1:18 scale and Welly 1:24 scale (because I collect BTTF stuff) and I can say the Welly is not only cheaper, but the scale works out MUCH better. In general, 1:24 scale is a good match for Minimates (see also Transformers: Alternators). The Sunstar DeLorean is a terrific detailed model, but Minimates look like children when put inside!
  20. Well, the figures are okay, I guess. But unless they get some licensed characters, I don't really see these taking off. The vehicles might have minimate potential, depending on size, styling & features.
  21. My set just arrived today and it is so awesome! I've needed a Minimate fix for a LONG time and this fits the bill! Thanks so much to Shane!
  22. Has anyone heard if Hasbro will be making any new 12" RAH Joe figures?
  23. Seriously Dante_X, I hope you are joking. Because otherwise, that just ain't cool.
  24. That's a cool feature. Uh... I HATE that I didn't already know how that worked! (gotta stay in the theme of complaining)
