  1. A liked the Build A Figure question, Chuck's answer makes sense BUT a Build A Figure doesn't necessarily have to be over 2" though. You could easily split up a simple Minimate in 3 or 4 packs.
  2. I'm a huge Transformers fan and lurk at the Allspark on a very regular basis, but the only toy forum I really post at is this one.
  3. Yeah I would definitely buy a Pirate LIon I would say he has a very good chance of being made, as possibly the most iconic of the Battle Beasts, certainly in terms of fiction.
  4. Hi Ochocinco85, I know you weren't being aggressive, don't worry. Nessex, I'd rather get staff members than individual reviewers but as long as the style matches up to what we have currently I would certainly consider it.
  5. I personally don't have the Dark Avengers boxset that features Ares, so a review of that set will not be immediately forthcoming. As the sheer amount of Minimates available increases exponentially across the different lines, it gets harder to keep up from a collector standpoint, and I have not been a completist for some time now. I do have a couple of other peeps who do reviews for Minimates Central also, but it just may be that none of us has it.
  6. Thanks NV for that link. After checking out the gallery I am impressed as to the level of detail and the sculpting the Battle Beast Minimate has, also how well it fits with the originals. I think they could be on to a winner with this line.
  7. It won't come with 2 figures. That is just to show that 2 figures can fit into the jet.
  8. I would love to see female pirates in the line but if they do make women they would probably be 'damsels in distress'. Oh and the answer to the second question is "under my buccan hat".
  9. Obviously one of the reasons we are getting vehicles is because they can simply repaint them (or add battle damage) and get twice as much use out of the molds (as they have done with the first vehicle wave announced). So, what do you think the SWAT van and the chopper would be repurposed as? SWAT van into Police wagon? The fire chopper becomes an air ambulance perhaps?
  10. I have the same reservations as a lot of you guys. Are we going to see many retreads of the Master Chief? Yet it was a license that Mega Bloks used so perhaps there is scope for the vehicles of Halo to be made, especially when there are vehicles from other licenses being made. I think that will be the distinction between the Kubrick offerings. I would so go for a translucent blue Cortana!
  11. I would echo the ambulance and paramedics idea. I could definitely see that happening with this line.
  12. Ignore BHM, he is his usual self! Hope all you US peeps get however many you need and them remember your international brothers in Minimate-arms
  13. The best thing to come out of Toy Fair for me was the Elite Heroes line. Firefighters with a chopper! A SWAT team with a van! We've been asking for this kind of thing for years. They fit right in with the other superhero Minimates as civilians and first response teams. Scorpion causing trouble that the SWAT team can't handle? Here's Spidey to the rescue! That kind of thing. From he pictures, the sets look modular, like the vehicle would come with 1 figure and then the other figures/accessories are separate. To me that is a great idea as it will allow people to build their collections, as well as giving the possibility of more figures of the same type later on. As we've been saying for so long, LEGO started with this kind of thing and it's great that DST may finally be trying it out. So, a SWAT team and some firefighters. What else do you think would fit into the Elite Heroes line? What would you like to see?
  14. Gratz Joe! I must admit, I opened these and took pics but lost them in a PC crash a while back and never reshot them. But the set is very cool.
  15. NR, if you've never bought a Figma I'd certainly recommend them! Do it! /ben stiller
  16. I was thinking that the Minimate MAX stuff (the futuristic jet/jetpack/mech suits) were one line and the Elite Heroes and pirates were separate to that, due to the historic/present day/future differences, but they are just subcategories, which also include the Battle Beasts? Curious! Bang goes my planned question about whether you guys think there will be any story behind the different sets, they are clearly just lumping them all in together.
  17. Maybe I read it wrong, but from the links provided to issue 53 I didn't think Crypt Chick (the Minimate we are getting in the boxset) was the one with the haunted vagina? Wasn't it one of the nurses? But yeah, Venkman would be all over that!
  18. You might make me walk the plank here but I don't really like them. The pirates idea is great but I think they've gone too far with the detail and are too busy. The standout stuff for me this Toy Fair is the SWAT/van and firefighters/chopper in the MAX line, I cannot wait to get my hands on those. I agree that the vast majority of these 2 lines will be TRU exclusives.
  19. Articulation on the Anointed One was the same as the regular Palz, I think. Possibly not the exact range of motion as the normal ones.
  20. This is one of those situations where the over-exposure of certain characters hurt because this time it might make sense to include Spock (and I can't really think of anyone else it would come with, I'll admit) but everyone's fed up with him!
  21. I haven't really been collecting the 2" Star Trek line but that shuttlecraft is by far and away the best of the licensed vehicles we've seen so far, as the proportions match better. Just can't believe it comes with another Spock!
  22. Probably true... so I'm looking forward to next year's THOR wave and boxed set(s)! I would say the chances of a movie Thor wave/boxset is very high, given the other Minimates we have from movies so far.
  23. Thanks for all the pics Daniel. You are a top bloke and I always enjoy your coverage of Toy Fair!
