  1. Welcome to the Multiverse. Most people don't know what they're in for, but you were a lurker so you know what this place is like, and you still signed up
  2. It was £20, down from £40. I thought that was a hell of a price for the size of the set. BHM, TRU still has some Mega Bloks POTC stuff, none of the ships though. The Kraken is a nice price of £7. Might pick that up next.
  3. As I said in the review, I did find them hard to glue together initially. I added more and more glue cos they didn't seem to want to stick together at all. In the end I just left them and gravity did the rest.
  4. BHM mentioned the Mega Bloks Pirates line in the Toyfair thread last month and I did remember seeing them at the time and loving the big ships. Well with the Pirates Minimates line announced, I was in Toys R Us and decided to get this as it was half price: Mega Bloks stuff is scaled slightly smaller than Minimates but when the ship's this big, it doesn't make much difference! As you can see, it's pretty awesome, and should hopefully be perfect for the Pirates Minimates
  5. Blimey, TRU are buying any old Minimates tat now! I can't believe how bad that picture looks. $29.99 for that, I just can't see them shifting any. Also it doesn't say what the 2 exclusives are, be interesting to see if they are still security guard and the gator.
  6. Shit, that's a stupidly high average!
  7. Is that the first Minimate with ass definition?? Yowzer!
  8. Big congrats to you Sam, that's a massive achievement and couldn't happen to a nicer guy
  9. Boyd's wife is not the only person who wants a Dazzler Minimate! I agree that if they can sculpt new arms for Storm, they'd get a lot of mileage from sculpted thicker arms for the Hulk. Look how many we have now!
  10. First, thanks for all the pics, it's appreciated Second, wow that Hulk is rough! As everyone has said, he proportions are just so off now it's not even funny. As Onyx says, to solve a problem like the Hulk you need to basically create him as an armoured guy like Iron Monger, to give him the necessary bulk, hopefully that way the arms and legs won't look too stick-thin and elongated.
  11. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Plenty of Transformers fans on this board, I'm sure you'll fit right in here
  12. That is superb! Thanks for the pic
  13. Just managed to see the video review minimadman, well done
  14. Is that BHM's garage? :O
  15. And Luke gets there before Tarot to give us an underwear model Superb stuff Luke!
  16. I don't normally promote Minimates Central reviews separately, but karamazov80's review of the Spider-Man Minimates Max statue is up on MMC. Many thanks to him for his great text and superb pics, and especially to BHM who allowed us to cover such an historic piece on the site.
  17. Fantastic job Cappy, and kudos to Mini-Myte for his pic-fic
  18. Thanks for the pics Paul, much appreciated by everyone here I'm sure
  19. Tim, I meant hands molded as part of the arm and feet molded as part of the leg. They'd be solid pieces, like the Razor Cylons legs or Movie Iron Man's legs. I know that Minimates have been pushed with a high level of articulation as a selling point, but as Miry and HRGmann have discussed, they aren't very kid friendly because of the fact that the hands and feet usually fall off. I just thought it was interesting to speculate, especially as we had that discussion about the Mini-Minimates and their possible level of articulation. Also interesting that you think the earlier waves were better constructed than later ones. I personally thought it was the other way around - early Minimates fell apart so easily!
  20. So... how would you guys feel about molded arms/hands and molded legs/feet. We have that last one already. It'd be a sacrifice I'd gladly take to make them more accessible. Plus in my Minimates box I have about 200 tiny feet and hands and I can't be bothered to sort them all out
  21. Those do look good. Agreed with MINI-MYTE on Egon's hairpiece, much better this time around. And those open traps are sweet!
  22. I made a prediction in one of the Marvel threads. I am very confident that we will get Minimates from the Thor movie when it's out. Do you agree? What odds would you give for that happening? 2/1? And that got me thinking about an idea for a thread. We as a fandom hang on Chuck's every word on the Ask DST Q&As, it would be fun to give odds on certain things happening. The Alpha Flight boxset that's been rumoured for a while? 4/1 odds? Kang available in the next year? 10/1? That Robocop licence Chuck mentions in the latest Q&A? 25-1? What else would you add, and what odds would you give? Minus points for dragging out DC or Streetfighter though!
  23. I would say that's exactly what they are attempting to do, Lobsterman. The question is, will it work?
  24. I don't think the lab playset was anything to do with Battle Beasts. I know it comes with the gator but I think they made the gator and then got the Battle Beasts license after it was pointed out how much like a Battle Beast it was. That's why they didn't (don't) know what to do with the license, it was a happy accident and not a long term plan. That's my theory anyway. Tune in next week as I debunk why we don't have a Kang Minimate
